An honor student suspended for allegedly hacking into a Theodore Roosevelt High School teacher”s computer is now suing the school district and teacher.
Shi “Carl” Huang, 17, is a senior Advanced Placement student at the Kent high school. Earlier this school year, he was suspended for five days and given a failing grade after a friend uncovered a password allowing Huang to access an upcoming biology test.
In addition to the suspension, the school district has filed a criminal charge of unauthorized use of property against Huang in juvenile court.
Huang and his parents, Housan and Nianyua Huang, filed a lawsuit in Portage County Common Pleas Court. Named as defendants in the suit are the school district, teacher James Zagray, Superintendent Marc Crail, Assistant Superintendent Joseph Giancola, Principal Roger Sidoti and Assistant Principal Arden Sommers.
The suit alleges Huang, who is in the U.S. on a student visa, had asked Zagray for help in the class but was denied help or specialized counseling. The suit further alleges that a Web site Zagray had set up to help students study was later blocked for access by students.
The suit alleges Zagray then set a trap by using Huang”s nickname, “Carl,” as a new password after “suspecting Shi might try to cheat on the next exam.”
“The trap worked,” the suit says.
He’s growing up to become a fine, whining american who could sue a charcoal making company just because he picked a hot burning piece of charcoal with his bare hands and the hot burning charcoal didn’t have a warning label on it.

Too bad this didn’t have “The End Of Times” stamp on the article. Can you imagine someone in the ’50s or ’60s suing a school and everybody there because he cheated on a test? Hope they waste a bunch of money on lawyers (or at least the lawyers waste their own bucks.)

This suit won’t get any further then the headlines it created. It has no merit. The best thing the kid can hope for is the Judge won’t impose costs on the kid or his lawyer.
That kid will be huang by even a semi cogent jury. Unless, of course, the trail results in a huang jury.
REVOKE the student VISA and deport the CHEAT.

If he was a citizen I would advocate expulsion, since he is a foreign exchange student then deportation is appropriate.
Yeah I’m being harsh. Based on my experience you can NEVER trust a cheater again.
Send this useless alien back to home country. Its bad enough we have to put up with this shit from our own citizens.
If he reads DU, his next logical step would be to sue everybody here who made disparaging remarks for hurting his feelings. But not me, because I am singing his praises. You other people can just, you know. Pay up.

I’m getting older, I don’t retain a lawyer, I don’t own anything more expensive than this computer, I’m on disability because of my heart and I don’t have any money left. Personally, I’m hoping to be sued by as many assholes in this world as possible before I kick off.

Ok so for all the negative comments that people are posting you don’t even have the slightest idea of what happened. Yes he did cheat but the teacher used to allow all of the students to log on to a site where all the answers where found. But however, the teacher got caught for this and had to change the password because the teacher allowed his students to do this. I think that Carl has the right to sue the school because the teacher had set him up. Hmmmm don’t you find it a little strange how the teacher set the password to the students name that cheated on the exam?? Talk about being psychotic and obsessive. And for all the racist comments about him being Asian?? Really well i’m sure he is a hell lot smarter than you he is an honor student so if he is suing the school obviously it’s for a good reason he is after all an A student.
