Executives now have got to know that every in-house “internal use only” sales video ever made will be showing up on Youtube or on some other video system. Here is a video for the Windows 2000 sales team which is a parody of the Chris Farley movie Tommy Boy. In this case the story is called Brian Boy and features then MS VP Brian Valentine as the Chris Farley character. What is interesting to me is the fact that all the sales-side executives featured sound almost exactly like Ballmer who is also in the film. I’ve always been fascinated by the fact that many of the MSFT coders and VP’s sound and also look like Gates. Most Microsoft people you meet pick up a weird pacing in their speaking style much of it stemming from Bill’s style. When I meet with various start-up CEO’s and other folks I can usually spot this and ask them if they’ve worked for Microsoft. They are always stunned that I figured that out. I have run into fewer of those guys who seem to mimic Ballmer but after this video I’ll be on the lookout.

That was pretty damn funny.
That was pretty damn annoying.
But interesting nonetheless.
Ballmer is such a jock! I bet he used to bully kids alot in school…
That was painful to watch and not very amusing.
Wait – wait… you mean the company that’s the poster child for mindless me-too don’t-rock-the-boat conformity actually inspires dronelike behavior and appearance in their
dronesemployees? Incredible! Who’d’a thunk it?:)Kinda reminds me of Chris Farley from SNL. This is now twice this week I’ve had to change shirts due to snorted coffee. Dvorak, you’ve been warned. 🙂
Oh, and fairly good production. Shame there weren’t more credits for producer, director, photography, etc.
I just saw Tommy Boy again the other night. The Chris Farley character in this does an excellent parody. I’d like to see one from Apple.
Hilarious. Loved it.
This is a colossal waste of bandwidth.
Near this the tthree stooges look brilliant.
Heck, by comparison even Bush looks averagely bright…

Hey, dont knock the Three Stooges, whup, whup, whup.
#10 Are you like some kind of schoolteacher or sth?
I have seen a couple of these “For Internal Use Only” movies that were created at the company I work for but, thankfully, they have not appeared on YouTube yet. They were pretty bad.
Was this some sort of managerial motivational fad a couple of years ago? Something they teach at some managerial seminar in Hawaii that all the execs get sent to so it qualifies as training?
I can’t imagine wasting company funds creating this kind of stuff. I am sure the investors love to see this stuff leaking out so they can see how the management spends overhead dollars. What an embarrassment.
#14 Thanx 🙂
Usually these “for internal use” videos are labeled as such for cost reduction not secrecy. It’s about royalty payments based on viewership numbers.
The DMCA takedowns issued against these videos are based on not ripping off the performers and musicians and production staff (who were paid less based on audience size) not because of a tin foil hatcover-up.
They speak lke Gates because that’s taught in effectve public speaking classes. Especially the trademark “hand gestures up high and tight.” that make Bill look a little funny when filmed from an unflattering angle.
Solaris is so much better than Windows it isn’t even funny. They made this vid to distract the audience while they snuck that comment in.
Solaris does suck.
I enjoyed this alot. The Ballmer is really good.
We all know that windows sucks, it is not realiable, even microsoft is moving now towards UNIX Technology!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Lol soo funny…but soo true..
Lol soo funny … but soo true …
I used Solaris at my college and man I gotta say Vista ran faster then that on cpu with 512mb memory…
Sun needs to stop running this OS / GUI on Java that language is not meant to be used anywhere near OS!!
Seems like alot of companies are switching to .NET cause of lower cost.. which means more .NET jobs… for anyone starting out just stay away from Java u will be fine.
Now all you java/sun lovers can rant all you want its not gonna change the truth.
Windows & Linux = Future.
Java = no future.
I can’t believe you retards actually think this was funded and produced by Microsoft as some sort of internal-use-only video. It is clearly making fun of the sales strategy and obviously carries no affiliation with Microsoft or Sun.
