One star is their Yelp rating.

With Hurricane Harvey bearing down in Houston, Texas Senator Ted Cruz wants Congress to pass an aid bill to support the people of Texas. But when Hurricane Sandy destroyed the northeast the senators from Texas voted NO on aid for them.

The way I see it, it is wrong that Texas comes hat in hand asking for aid after voting to deny aid to others who are suffering for a hurricane disaster. And if I were a Senator from the northeast I would tell Texas that they should get down on there hand and knees and beg forgiveness before I’d give them a dime of aid. Yes – it is wrong to deny Americans in Texas aid during a disaster. But it is also wrong for Texas to vote against aid for Americans in New Your and New Jersey and Texas should have to at least confess their sins and ask the rest of America for absolution.

  1. bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Excellent notion. Make aid conditioned on those Texas congresscreeps who voted no to others to declare themselves A-HOLES.

After all…….. they are already half way there being “proud Repulbicans.”

but the same with all their BS???? Treat them the way they would treat everyone else.

The Golden Rule…………. someone ought to follow it.

Whats illogical about approving asshats reaping what the sew?

I was factually wrong, not logically.

        There is a difference.

        • Joe says:

The people are just pawns? The asshat is you.

          • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Well Joe………like cowboy boots: every asshole has an opinion??? (ha, ha…..I love mangled word play)

YOU are the only person equating people with pawns……….a fine game of rules and thinking ahead. Not at all an excuse to vomit your nonsense as you do.

          • Joe says:

Well Bobbo, nice try, but your deflective silver tongue and capital letters have failed you once again.

          • ± says:

            [to Joe]

            … “silver tongue” … ❓ 😂

          • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

            “……..♫… Hey Joe………..

Doesn’t fit, but I like the song.

    • Brad M says:

Yeah, because 2 wins make a right

  2. NewFormatSux says:

If the Harvey relief bill is like Sandy’s I would expect Cruz to vote no. The Sandy bill(which Wikipedia says was passed by voice vote), was loaded up with unrelated pork items, including 150 million for fisheries in Alaska.

  3. George Wilson says:

Cruz voted no because two thirds of the hurricane Sandy relief bill was pork. He said to remove the pork and he would vote yes for the relief only.

  4. spsffan says:

Which leads to the question, how much pork is in the Texas relief bill?

    • Mr Diesel - Libertarian says:

Since Congress is still on vacation is there even a bill yet?

I’m both sides of the aisle will load it up with some of that down home tasty pork.

    • NewFormatSux says:

I’m guessing there will be plenty. It’s likely to be a larger bill than Sandy, so more room to hide things.

    • Marc Perkel says:

The Texas bill is 2/3rds pork as well. And I’m saying that with the same conviction as Ted Cruz.

  5. George Wilson says:

Good point spsffan…. It’s hard to trust any of those folks.

  6. Frank Robinson says:

I would certainly hope as a Nation, We would help each other. I don’t care what state it is. If they need help in a disaster situation, then they deserve all the help they can get. I cant stand Cruz either, but in the end, it is the people who loose out. They loose places to live, work, just get by..so Help comes in many forms. you may some day need it! Be your brothers keeper.

    • ± says:

I’m OK paying taxes to restore someone’s life after they live on a flood plain, I’ll even pay more than they deserve. But just once. And they can’t move back onto the flood plain. Your government probably can’t figure that out.

      • Mark McCullough says:

Where I live windstorm insurance is 500/mth. And that only covers about half of the properties value.
If you live in a flood plain its much more.

Gov’t subsidized insurance is unavailable, as it should be.

        It’s the price you pay.

      • Frank says:

Horse shit… Flood plain? The experts say this is a 1,000 year event..and no ..with Trump the bump in office, the Government wont figure anything out, let alone a disaster

    • NewFormatSux says:

The cheap flood insurance ensures(insures?) that people keep building where they are likely to be flooded. Houston’s smaller hurricanes led to big payouts in the past decade. It’s been decades since people have tried to change this. A reform was finally passed in 2012, then at the first sign of trouble, the reform was repealed.

      Maybe they should withhold funds…

  7. Karl says:

I could say something about idiots who use disasters for political digs. But hey….why bother.

    • NewFormatSux says:

The black people who move out of California seem to think so.

      • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

        A bit racist…..but still funny.

((I internalized “white trash”……knowing all my neighbors move to Texas.))

        • NewFormatSux says:

It is a bit racist of liberals in California to make things so expensive blacks will move out.

          • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Don’t confuse class warfare with racism.

Each hate has to be appreciated on its own “merits.”

          • NewFormatSux says:

So they don’t hate blacks because they are black, they just hate poor people who happen to be disproportionately black.

          • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Exactly. ……….. Like basketball players or boxers. Same thing.

    • NewFormatSux says:

Federal judges not so much. One just blocked a state law telling state law enforcement they have to enforce federal immigration law. The judge wrote he was doing it because of testimony that it ‘would harm the state of Texas.’

  10. I don’t care what state it is. If they need help in a disaster situation, then they deserve all the help they can get. I cant stand Cruz either, but in the end, it is the people who loose out….

  11. Go F Yourself says:

This is a classic example of leftist “WRONG think.”

Did you ever hear a little saying that goes a little like this?:

TWO WRONGS DON’T MAKE IT RIGHT!

What a pathetic life you must have when you live to retaliate and hold grudges. What a horrible person you prove to be when you judge an entire society based on the poor actions of a very few of it’s members. In some circles, that’s called RACISM. But since we’re not actually talking about races here, technically it’s just plain old bigotry.

    Marc Perkel, you suck!

    • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

This is a classic example of leftist “WRONG think.” /// Yep…. treating the rightwingnuts as they would treat everyone else.

      Pure hypocrisy.

    • Marc Perkel says:

2 wrongs make a right. Boolean logic.

  12. kerpow says:

What kind of hateful bullshit is this? You think innocent people should suffer because of something stupid a politician did? Sick.

    • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

      ……………..we all do/are…………………

No disagreement regarding the immediate rescue help.

Probably a disagreement about clean up and what comes next?

  13. The Pirate says:

Interesting to reconfirm that the party that started the KKK (and their lib minions) still has no idea what a high road is or how to drive on it.

    • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

The Dumbo’s took the high road which is why the KKK left it and joined the Pukes.

I assume you know this…….and just enjoy lying.

      • The Pirate says:

Thats not what happened and you know it..

One of the dems who was a leader in the klan and a US Senator until 2010. Much admired by the democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, she referred to him as her ‘mentor’.
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Byrd

A closed mind reaps its own denial harvest.

        • NewFormatSux says:

Klan leader who said he hopes Old Glory falls to the ground never to rise again rather than have blacks as equals, Dems make him Majority Leader, who only leaves the post because he felt Appropriations Committee Chairman was more to his liking.

  14. jescott418 says:

Two wrongs do not make it right. Your not hurting Ted Cruz or Texas by denying aid. Your hurting American’s in time of need. It’s always a given aid is not nearly enough, or comes fast enough in these disasters. Not like many of these people will see real recovery back to normal for years. Given that a lot of home owners had no flood insurance, that’s another roadblock to recovery. People in Katrina and Sandy had some help and most did not see the impact as severe with Sandy as Katrina and now Harvey. Marc seems like a cold heart Democrat out for revenge using other American’s suffering as pawns. Good Lord moved to Canada we don’t need American’s like you.

    • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

So you agree that kiddies that kill their parents deserve pity because they are orphans?

You reward the grasshopper from the labor of the ants???

You think you are your dumb ass brother’s keeper??????

      ///////////………… Yes and No.

  15. Benjamin says:

But Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee was asked about her funding of Sandy and she said she claimed to have voted for aid for the victims of Sandy Hook.

Yes, Sandy Hook. She didn’t know the difference between Superstorm Sandy and the Sandy Hook shooting. She is Houston’s Congresswoman.

Also, Sandy was a superstorm, not a Hurricane. And the Sandy aid bill was loaded with pork.

  16. Ayesha says:

Cruz voted no in light of the fact that 66% of the tropical storm Sandy help charge was pork. He said to expel the pork and he would vote yes for the alleviation as it were.
