He speaks NO but votes YES. I’m betting he’s going to vote to screw the American People because even though he talks maverick, he votes Republican, always. McCain is in my prayers. But fortunately for McCain I’m an Atheist and no one is listening.

  1. NewFormatSux says:

Did you just write you are praying for McCain to die?

    • Ah_Yea says:

      Marc’s little Freudian slip.

He speaks NO but votes YES!

BTW, what magic ball does Perkel use to divine that voting out Obamacare and replacing it with something better will be bad?

      • bobbo, we think with words and flower with ideas says:

Whats the Freudian Slip? aka: that which was not meant to be said????

Yes…..a revoking of Obama Care with no replacement will put 30 Million people into the “self pay” category leading very directly to the premature deaths of 10K’s of people.

OH…… you said “and replaced.” Ok….now only 10 Million thrown onto the street with fewer 10K’s of people directly killed by Republicans doing what they can to get the AlreadyTooRich even more money.

        Smooth Move ex-lax.

  2. Mr Diesel - Libertarian says:

What did he vote yes on, the move to debate or the bill?

    • bobbo, we think with words and flower with ideas says:

      The debate.

Not the “regular order” he likes to fantasize about.

      • Mr Diesel - Libertarian says:

I just got news that he may have voted yes on the first bill put up as well last night.

Oh well, no one ever said he wasn’t your typical lying politician. Of course in his defense there are several versions being debated and maybe he meant he would no on another version. Weasel words.

        • bobbo, we think with words and flower with ideas says:

The Republicans could not be more “clear” on who they serve….. and at whose expense.

That they get more than 1% of the vote is………………… pick your own scathing summation.

I’d say: how thoroughly corrupt they are yet still master manipulator of those who favor lies over track record.

      • MikeN says:

I thought regular order meant Senators debate things instead of the bogus filibuster they do now where they don’t even talk but instead keep holding roll calls.

        • bobbo, we think with words and flower with ideas says:

It does mean that. As in: an actual bill is presented.

  3. Anonymous Libertarian says:

A man is most honest when he speaks with nothing to lose. Hopefully his constituents were listening rather than maneuvering or critiquing.

  4. scandi says:

Fuck McCain. Hope the brain eating kancer goblins eat him from the inside out.

  5. Marc Perkel says:

Well, McCain voted NO so far. I guess I need to eat some crow?

  6. MikeN says:

Marc, I understand you are occupied, but have you paid any attention to the IT staffers in the House that were arrested? Most of the media is ignoring it, and even the conservative media is talking about Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s role in protecting them, and now that one guy tried to flee the country. Could you take a look at this, and explain the technical details?

    • Mr Diesel - Libertarian says:

No, that would be against the things Marc stands for.

    • Marc Perkel says:

Yes I have and there’s a scandal there. If Trump weren’t such a clown maybe that would get attention.

      • MikeN says:

Then report it! Last time you held back because of Trump you ended up with more Trump!

  7. Kevin Baker says:

Well, he voted for straight repeal when he knew it would get no farther than Obama’s desk. Now he votes no. He campaigned on building a fence along the Arizona/Mexico border, but now he’s against it.

Looks like he votes with the Democrats when it really matters. And I live in Arizona. He lost my support when he co-authored the McCain-Feingold Campaign Reform Act and justified it by saying “I would rather have a clean government than one where quote ‘First Amendment rights’ are being respected that has become corrupt. If I had my choice, I’d rather have the clean government.”

He swore an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” If he wants to change the First Amendment, there’s a process for it. His “Campaign Finance Reform Act” isn’t part of that process. And it wouldn’t give us “clean government” either.

I’m sorry he has brain cancer. That sucks. I hope he retires to fight it. Soon.

    • bobbo, we think with words and flower with ideas says:

From your description, I can’t tell what McCain was referring to……………….but ……………. the Const is the Constitution. IT DOESN’T CHANGE based on passing or not passing any law.

      Ain’t that neat?

      • ± says:

        sayeth bobbo re the constitution
[ IT DOESN’T CHANGE based on passing or not passing any law. … Ain’t that neat?]

Er… was this a ‘me too’ post? Kevin Baker just said as much. Weren’t you paying attention?

And since when did liberals even PRETEND to respect the constitution over the requirements of their agenda?

You aren’t doing well on this forum, this is probably why Phydeaux makes more money than you do. I suggest that you appeal to Phydeaux for tips on how to attract better benefactors.

        • bobbo, we think with words and flower with ideas says:

PM…no, I don’t get that is what Kevin Baker is saying. But I have already said I don’t understand what his complaint is. I just haven’t followed McCain or Arizona that closely….especially after McCain escaped jail time after Abscam.

      • MikeN says:

Passing a law that the Supreme Court then refuses to throw out, is changing the Constitution as applied. Because of McCain, you are forbidden from running for office and running a commercial that doesn’t say ‘I’m bobbo and I approve this message.’

        • jpfitz says:

Amendments to The Constitution alter the original document. The SCOTUS just drills down on directional changes congruent with movement in society unforseen in the 1700’s.

Maverick McCain, ha, what a joke. Well wishes for John no matter.

        • bobbo, we think with words and flower with ideas says:

“as applied.” //// Good one Mickey. A 500 pound weight doesn’t change when on the shelf but as applied to your neck, it does seem to mean something different????

The “applied Constitution” is a nice turn of phrase though. Does every law or even municipal code change the Constitution as well?

          There is the Constitution.

          There is the Law.

There is how the law is enforced.

All kinds of variables, none of them “the same thing.”

Then, there is that 500 pound weight.

          • MikeN says:

Does the Constitution mean what the Supreme Court says it means?

If your answer is no, then I am wrong. If your answer is yes, then when the Supreme Court changes the meaning of the Constitution, does that change the Constitution?

NY couple jumps to their death over monies owed. Not because of the ACA.

“In 2013, the feds took legal action against Scarpelli for failing to pay back a nearly $60,000 student loan he took out in 2000 while studying at the Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Mo.”
