LONDON — Britain has voted to leave the European Union, a historic decision sure to reshape the nation’s place in the world, rattle the Continent and rock political establishments throughout the West.
Not long after the vote tally was completed, Prime Minister David Cameron, who led the campaign to remain in the bloc, appeared in front of 10 Downing Street to announce that he planned to step down by October, saying the country deserved a leader committed to carrying out the will of the people.
The stunning turn of events was accompanied by a plunge in the financial markets, with the value of the British pound and stock prices plummeting.
The margin of victory startled even proponents of a British exit. The “Leave” campaign won by 52 percent to 48 percent. More than 17.4 million people voted in the referendum on Thursday to sever ties with the European Union, and about 16.1 million to remain in the bloc.
A significant setback for the Globalists.

At that point, Remain was leading in polls. But just like when he went to London to bring home the Olympics, his visit failed, and Leave took a lead. Remain forces recovered and were leading in the polls over the last week, until Donald Trump appeared.

TEXAS was never really a full state! TEXAS is STILL a “REPUBLIC”! The reason the U.S claims Texas as a State is by the simple fact that the Texas Constitution makes their State Legislators renew their “contract” with the U.S. Federal government (aka “The Union”) every so often — usually every 4 years but is really left up to Texas legislators to decide how often they do it.
… Think about it. There’s a damn good reason they call it the “Lone Star” state.

I did find this, and although it’s not about renewing the contract it is about why Texas cannot split into 5 states without an act of Congress. It’s well written and it obviously applies to seceding as well.

To some degree the Brexit vote may be yet another Obama failure. He threatened the UK with trade sanctions should the vote to exit the EU succeed. Apparently he felt that the British people were not sufficiently intelligent to make this decision by themselves. Further, I suspect that his obvious contempt for the British voters may have shifted a not insignificant number of Undecided voters into the Brexit camp. The implicit message is that Britain did not want advice from a narcissistic punk psychopathic man-child, laughing stock and failed racist clown.
I saw an interview with Obama today about the Brexit.
Funny how the interviewer didn’t happen to mention Obama’s threat.
It’s certain his threat was a significant contributing factor, and most likely contributed the push that got Britain to Brexit.
So, if Obama kept his filthy mouth shut Britain might still be in the EU!

One of the leaders of the Leave camp conceded defeat right after the polls closed at 10:03 PM.
Recent polling had shown Remain to be leading narrowly. And conventional wisdom was that the undecided vote would lean towards the “safe” thing to do (stay the course).
What happened was the campaign by the Remainers was ramped up, declaring that those who supported Exit are racist filth. The Exit voters started lying to pollsters.

The main reason for the assumption that Remain would win is that the Exit folks looked incredibly stoopid when having zero response to the challenge to NAME A SINGLE ECONOMIC EXPERT that agrees leaving would be good for the UK economy.
It is quite clear that many people did vote for exit as a protest vote thinking Remain would win.
