I’ve been seeing for years now that cars in the future would just be a 6 inch thick “platform” with all the “go” parts of a car. then, different models from sports car to trucks could be attached to this platform. Kinda a replacement for the running gear of the Volkswagen.

I’d like to see such a platform and the all electric seems like a good place to start….provide the basics, let the hobbyists and niche market guys provide the variation.

    Pros and cons.

I’d like a “urban” model. Large and comfy for ONE person to commute to work, run errands, go for groceries. Cramped for two…always thinking a back seat in line serving as a trunk as well. It would be very light therefore very efficient.

for long vactation trips or moving a house of furniture: rent.

All these cars are way too big and inappropriate….. like our houses and everything else, except public spaces.

“Infinite Power.” /// Wow! That is really cool.

What happens when you wake up?

Generally coasts off the side of the road when I fall asleep. Falling asleep: more dangerous than drunk driving in my book.

Ha, ha…… that actually happened one night on a long drive….woke up when the rocks hit the bottom of my car. Scared the bj’s out of me. Drove another mile to find a secluded spot and took a nap. 15 minutes can do wonders.

God, I love the internet. Seems to get better, even month by month. I googled: (enough batteries for electric cars) and found this right on point: http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1092527_will-there-be-enough-batteries-in-the-world-for-electric-cars.

and the answer is; yes. Growth in supply should exceed growth in demand…..from a car veiwpoint anyway. Seems to me there is huge demand “laying in wait” for solar systems of all kinds. Its not demanded, because the cost is too high.

Marc–do you have battery back up/storage on your system? Would you buy more if it were “cheap”? And I’m only assuming what is competitive for a car’s system is expensive for home use??? Maybe not. Whats power worth to you?

    • NewFormatSux says:

More reason to not promote solar. Wait till the price comes down rather than wasting money on expensive versions.

taking out the “middle” www. seems a bit special.

      but there it is.

Hmm. STILL too high of a price AND too short of range AND too long to recharge = not ready for prime time. Still a toy.
