Israel has recalled its ambassador in El Salvador after he was found drunk and naked with sex toys lying nearby in the yard of his official residence, Israeli media reports said on Monday.
A foreign ministry spokeswoman confirmed that the ambassador, Tsuriel Raphael, was recalled but offered no details. “The ministry sees his behavior as unbecoming of a diplomat,” the spokeswoman said.
Israeli media reported that local police found Raphael in the yard of the official residence in San Salvador. The reports said he was drunk, naked, and bound and gagged with a rubber ball in his mouth and sex toys lying near him.
I wonder if Israeli fundies will invite him to repent on their radio shows? That works here.
I’m not sure I want to laugh at this even if a politician is involved.

Is this what Eros–what’s called here, in the familiar disenchanted way, “sex”– is about? If the god appears here, it would seem he does so only to bring pain and the domination of one over another.
There are a number of contributors to this Blog that would say “What a guy does on his own time is his business”. Maybe he’s a good ambassador.

when I checked on the bbc this am the guy was not in his yard but in the street, not even in his neighborhood – story keeps changing, what gives? check back tomorrow for more spining?

Incidentally, if the guy was bound and gagged and placed in an embarrassing location, the terms “politics” and “roofies” come to mind. Though John Paradox’s TV quotes are weirdly apt.
I just hope that Israel and El Salvador can maintain their already shaky alliance.
