The San Francisco Powell Street station for the BART is literally plastered with ads for Microsoft Vista. I thought it was kind of dumb until two French tourists gawked and chatted about Vista while pointing at the posters. Powell Street is apparently full of tourists and an ideal place to advertise. Who knew?

What would you expect, they needed to get something to do with all that cash. Actually, never mind, I forgot about the Lucent and AT&T there for a second.
Up Toronto (Soviet Cannuckistan) MS bought adds at a few of our major stations… Bloor, Dundas, Queen, King. Queen station prolly has the most.concentration and density.
Anyhoo, the adds are a lot better than the Start Me Up adds of Win 95 days…
#3, You remember when they draped the CN tower with the Windows 95 banner? Things haven’t changed that much with MS advertising.

Well, now that the CN Tower is covered in ICE and highways are closed due to it falling off, they didn’t have much choice but to go underground… I worked at the CNTower when that launch was on. i was in my OS/2 phase and much younger, so I boycotted the whole thing. Then I had to take my dad, so duty overcame my protest.
It certainly create conversation between my wife and I – with lines like:
“wow… that is an awful campaign, tagline, image, and advert.”
“who do they think they are selling to?”
“do they know that putting things in “quotes” makes it look dumb?”
“So… they have no features to advertise.. or what?”
“None of these ads tells me why I’d want it.”
“It looks like they are advertising World of Warcraft with all the ‘Wow”s”
Such a bad, bad advertising campaign.
At least they’re doing some good subsidizing mass transit.

Well After your done paying for a vista license and the hardware to run it the only thing youll be able to afford is Masstransit.
So you’re blaming the global market downturn last week on Vista?
I’m certain all the bums that hang around Powell are moving to Vista.
