What a pile of crap!
Top notch video production. Must have cost (tax payers) a petty penny! To bad they didn’t use light sabers 🙁
Thinking again how corny 🙂
WTF, over?
Progressives are into symbolism and this is their declaration of intent for a New World Order. Horrific both in terms of execution and in terms of message it carries. Good as it shows self-delusion of these leaders, self expressed “King has no clothes”.
Doesn’t this remind you of the Progressives Homer Simpsons opening sequence where Home boy drops a rod of plutonium from tongs and lands in his shirt collar or when Bart find a the plutonium rod to use as a remote control battery?
Or the world’s most “Progressives Symbolism” by GWB televised ultimate Mission Accomplished speech with worlds most lame “Mission Accomplished” banner displayed on the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln!!!
I got the immediate NWO vibe, also. Especially: That spinning triangle seemed to represent the inseparability of the individual nation-states. I wonder if they want a solid triangle next year? or one with neatly arranged blocks?
But consider that it may be no more sinister than a Motel-6 welcome menu on a crappy crt telling you “There’s a yummy Denny’s up the street a piece and mini-golf, go-carts, and horses ‘cross the way.” In other words, they just want to do a little marketing so those very wealthy individuals will go back to their respective countries a bit less wealthy.
**The Netherlands — “Y’all come on down and we’ll leave a burning goathead out for you”**
However. It really creeped me out. I don’t think those particular individuals would be so bedazzled with such stuff, but it was an interesting performance/collage nontheless.
What it really puts me in mind of is a mind control programming or trigger (i’ll go with trigger) video as depicted in many tv shows and movies from The Bionic Woman to Zoolander:
MK ULTRA Programming Film

The fix is in. There is no real debate intended here. The metaphor is that [extant] nuclear power is safe and good and can be handed off to those who haven’t yet achieved dominance, as have those people in the respective fields represented (the vignettes of people excelling after years of rigor and training, contrasted by the achiever hopefuls).
The fact is that most nuclear plants around the world are relics. Relics of nascent technology of 65 years ago when the field was young. Vested interests (can you say “BECHTEL”?) and their *beneficiaries* won’t allow for new safe nuclear plants to be built. (Thorium based power plants, for one alternative, may be viable and totally safe)

It looked to me like they were having fun passing it amongst their happy, frolicking, far above the fray selves.
Come on all, form a team and have some fun with the funky forbidden fruit of physics and madmen! {wink, wink : teams are not really much fun without advarsaries}
Stop yer trollin.
All “ceremonies” are about conformity to senseless memes. Especially “opening” ceremonies.
Just look. I hate them. Just another variety of dogma.
What makes it “corporate”? More of a self promoting tourism ad without giving out any two for one coupons.
If you went to enough events (you know, get out of the house) once in a while you’d know what I meant by “corporate.” It’s a unique type of video you commonly see at big private shindigs held by large corporations and at venues such as CES, NAB, etc. It’s a style. This is nothing like the normal tourism promotion. It’s a classic self aggrandized “corporate” video.
Well I agree. But the “self” that is aggrandizing is the Country of the Netherlands. The Country of the Netherlands is not a Corporation. It is a promotional piece of fluff EXACTLY like any State or Country tourism video that you can find all over the place. I saw one on Nevada State just last week that prompted my response.
Corporate self aggrandizing videos typically tout services and products that they provide. This general feel good ad for the Netherlands was a general puff piece promoting tourism and all the foreign exchange it would bring indirectly thru taxes to the State and increased income to its citizens. Similar…but most like a tourism appeal than a corporate appeal.
Similarities? Of Course. But more with any tourism puff piece. I do need to get out more…. maybe you do too?
Neither one of us liked the video. Its good we can still disagree on whatever minor issue there is.
It’s an ad for the nuclear Olympics.
The Netherlands are grate (sic.).
What’s it all about? Well, this is just a guess, but it sort of seems kind of similar to a bunch of power mongers taking advantage of the commoners’ fears of confusing new technology to consolidate more power, collect more money, scout out some new hookers, get blitzed on our dime, and bask in our adoration and gratitude.
There again, maybe it’s just another drinking club.
Hey, anything on the TV?
My jaw dropped when i saw this on the live stream. I was expecting some propagandistic crap but really wow…
TL from NL
I used to say there was no such thing as a stupid question. And then I read this one:
What is the point of all this?
I’ll tell you what the point is in one word: MONEY!
Now, if you want a more artistic explanation I’d say the video was all about energy and somehow being in harmony with what I might assume to be nature (despite the very un-natural subject of nuclear power).
But all that aside, the one question we should really be asking is why the f**k are these assholes so bent on using Plutonium/Uranium as a fuel when there is a much cleaner and safer material? Oh! That’s right. The answer once again is MONEY!
Seems there’s not as much money involved in THORIUM!
Don’t look now, but China seems to have got the message. And I find it curious that China seems to be missing from that conference too!
So why can’t our leaders figure it out? Ya! MONEY!!! The very same money YOU hand over when you buy the crap you don’t need and (re)elect criminals like those communist leftists and right-wing elitists who also TAKE it right out of our wallets (figuratively speaking, of course) .
And two weeks later they all die of radiation poisoning….
I can’t believe this BS. Please people start voting them all out!!!!!!!
The Dutch, delight in confusing the English.
