1. Hendrick says:

After all of that bullshit from the left about a peaceful transition and respecting the Democratic process.

It’s fucking shameful, I have lost my respect for so many people.

  2. Ah_Yea says:

I haven’t lost any respect at all, since they didn’t earn it in the first place.

  3. MikeN says:

Love trumping hate involves more arson and assault than I guessed.

  4. bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Partisan Phonys. Very minor exceptions do not make the rule. And unlike the Pukes……the Democratic leadership is not egging on the violence and unrest.

Mentioning the attacks on Muslims, foreigners in general, and transgenders that is also going on, also an exception, BUT EGGED ON BY TRUMP AND HIS SUPPORTERS……..suck it.

    • Hmeyers says:

Since maybe a few years after Obama was elected, there have been elements of the right that have promoted misinformation and rumors, along with a mix of true rumors.

Prior to that, it was usually it was only elements of the left promoting these kinds of falsehoods, usually about George W. Bush.

May 2016 (6 months ago) — On, CNN one of the head Clinton campaign directors said their strategy would be to relentless negative attacks on Trump.

One of those post-election analysts after the election said — The Hillary campaign never offered an affirmative reason to vote for her and the negative campaigning worked in Trump’s favor because he was far more comfortable with a Jerry Springer style race to the bottom (Clinton rally disruptors with “Rape!” T-Shirts, National Enquirer dirt articles, “Clinton’s son” Danny)

Maybe it was just a matter of time before the “right” caught up to the disinformation campaigns of the left.

They might even be doing it better too.

I’m not in favor of either, but what doesn’t help is when the media becomes cheerleaders for $FAVORITE_CANDIDATE$ — not just in the general election, but in the primaries too (always publishing Hillary’s delegate count with 800 superdelegates to demoralize people considering voting for Sanders).

  5. Jeez says:

They’ll settle down in a few weeks only to rise up and show their ass again at the inauguration. Soros will be funding the protests and there will be violence.

Bottom line, what else are they going to do? Civil War? Will Kalifornia secede from the US….give me a break.

Let them burn their own crappy cities down. They can live in the street.

  6. Phydeau says:

Y’all have a short memory, forgetting all the racist venom that greeted Obama’s election in 2008.

I have to admit, I’m prejudiced too… against rich assholes. 😛

    • Jeez says:

Yeah, don’t Ya’all remember all those teabaggers pulling people out of their cars and beating the shit out of them, 5 or 6 old ladies on one black guy…it was awful. The burnings, the rioting, the tremendous violence.

    http://wsj.com/articles/leading-contender-for-donald-trump-s-chief-of-staff-is-rnc-chairman-reince-priebus-1479069597

During their private White House meeting on Thursday, Mr. Obama walked his successor through the duties of running the country, and Mr. Trump seemed surprised by the scope, said people familiar with the meeting. Trump aides were described by those people as unaware that the entire presidential staff working in the West Wing had to be replaced at the end of Mr. Obama’s term.

After meeting with Mr. Trump, the only person to be elected president without having held a government or military position, Mr. Obama realized the Republican needs more guidance. He plans to spend more time with his successor than presidents typically do, people familiar with the matter said.

Cool, we’re going to have an amateur running the country! What could go wrong? Unless the Republican Congress impeaches him so they can replace him with Pence, who’s more Republican Fat Cat friendly…

    • Wait A Minute says:

We just had 8 years of an amateur running the country. Barry Sotero never held a real job in his life.

Harvard Law Professor, Community Organizer, Senator.

In the end….. isn’t it ideas, goals, temperament?

          http://www.law.uchicago.edu/media

Yeah, like I said, not one honest job.

          • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

I apologize….I had a crick in my neck re the law prof thing but failed to check it. Fighting the Partisan Wars will do that to you over time. I am refreshed though. Won’t do that again for some time.

Of course: other than correcting my error that I admit to……. you got nothing.

I submit that being a law school lecturer is an honest job.

Silly door stop mindset to post otherwise.

    • NewFormatSux says:

That is false. There are plenty of people who are held over.
Linda Tripp was one. Though it is the decision of the incoming president.

    • NewFormatSux says:

      Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance.

      • Phydeau says:

I’ll see a lot of that from you wingnuts as Trump gradually shows his true colors… prepare yourself… 😉

        • NewFormatSux says:

Oh, we’re prepared. We were at acceptance ever since Cruz dropped out.

Bill Kristol and the NeverTrumpers took longer. He was at bargaining when he posted ‘Trump should pledge to serve just one term.’

        • NewFormatSux says:

We also know the reason he is not beholden to his donors is because the fundraiser he tried to get to run his campaign suggested he adopt that line, as a way of getting out of having to say no to Trump.

  8. Wait A Minute says:

In addition to blurring the line between Trump’s presidency and his money, skeptics note that his children will now also have control over the people who will be put in charge of regulatory decisions that could affect his multi-billion-dollar fortune.

He’s looking pretty comfortable in that swamp! 🙄

    • Colonel Lingus (say it real fast) says:

      Hi Phydeau, Republicans now control:

      ✅Presidency
      ✅Senate
      ✅House
      ✅Majority of State Houses
      ✅Majority of Governorships

      ✅Mandate

I’ll send you a box of Kleenex if you’ll post your address.

      • Phydeau says:

Unless you’re a rich old white guy, CL, save it for yourself. Because you’re going to need it when Trump turns out to be just another rich Republican Fat Can and fucks over regular people like you and me.

And now that the Republicans control everything (thru clever gerrymandering and blatant lying) you guys get to take all the responsibility when things go bad. No more whining about big bad Obama.

Oh, and kiss my ass too. 😀

        • Phydeau says:

Lol, Fat Can not Fat Cat! Dang typo. Well, that kinda works too. 😀

        • Phydeau says:

And you might want to go easy on that “mandate” thing, since more people voted for Clinton than Trump. Just saying. 😉

          • Colonel Lingus (say it real fast) says:

            Yep, MANDATE.

Hillary lost get over it, it’s not healthy to have so much hatred in your heart for half the country.

        • Colonel Lingus (say it real fast) says:

I’m under no delusion that Trump is going to do half the things he promised. But he is still a damn site better than that lying cunt and her rapey husband.

Would you care to see a list of Barry’s broken promises? Yeah, yeah, Republicans blocked him…whatever. That’s the real world boy.

The offer of tissues stands…scented or unscented?

        • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Phydeaux…dag nab it, you are always too kind.

Trump IS A PROVEN CHARLATAN. The record is not wiped clean just because he has found a new endeavor to flim flam the public over.

Now, I’ll be too kind: he’s made 4-5 statements that show he “could” grow into the office of Presidency and actually be a real Teddy Roosevelt trust buster. Not taking a salary is right in line….but he should have donated it to….. support of the Paris Accords? Ha, ha.

I doubt his mind set will change fast enough to overcome his life time of mindset.

But…the nature of the beast is established.

          • NewFormatSux says:

            What does Paris Accord achieve?

          • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Nothing but failure….but like Obamacare, it was the breaking of eggs for the first omelette.

Exact recipe to always need tweaking.

When was the last time you were blaming W for current situation?

      • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Yep…voters don’t know whats best for them. sounds elistist, and may well be. Its how you recognize facts rather than fancy.

Mandate just shows what a simp you are. Read that real slow.

    • Phydeau says:

NFS? You good with Trump having his kids decide who’s going to regulate his fortune?

      • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Trumps complete inability to end his conflict of interest with his ongoing businesses will unavoidably constitute grounds for impeachment…..a political process, so it probably won’t happen……unless the Pukes lose Congress in two years….again with Gerrymandering and Election Fraud probably won’t happen.

        There’s your mandate.

        • NewFormatSux says:

Bobbo, there is a sizeable number of Republicans under pressure from amnesty and free trade loving donors and neo-cons that will sign on for impeachment.

          • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

I agree and many prefer Pence…but it still takes a majority. Political convictions before Party, Party before Country.

“probably”—to be calculated as events unfold.

          • NewFormatSux says:

            200 Dems + 25 Repubs = impeach

            46 Dems +2 I + 19 Reps = remove

      • NewFormatSux says:

What’s there for the feds to regulate in having his brand on a bunch of buildings and managing many more?

Is he applying or his own Indian tribe or something?

        • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

          thats not all he does.

Even while running for president he used the opportunity to Push Trump Steaks and Water and so forth.

Changing environmental regs in Scotland to get his golfcourse to his liking.

Its not going to stop with the Kiddies looking for new opportunities.

  10. NewFormatSux says:

“To most Americans, Donald Trump sounds a lot less nutty than John Kerry did when he said in Paris that Islam’s not the problem, while they’re still mopping blood up from the streets in Paris.”

  11. Hmeyers says:

    @Bobbo re: left’s disinformation

I was saying both sides do disinformation.

Left example: “Hands up! Don’t shoot!” — the guy in Ferguson, Missouri.
Left example: “Seas will rise 10 meters by 2010”
Left example: “Hurricane Katrina was caused by global warming.” (*)
Left example: 2004: “Do you feel a draft? George W. Bush is going to reinstate the draft after the election.”
Left example: Romney wants to ban condoms and birth control.

(*) Yet no major hurricane has hit Florida in over 10 years and it used to happen all the time.

Trump’s and his minions have been scuzzy with the truth. I watched Alex Jones on YouTube once to see who he is and he lied pretty much non-stop.

I spent plenty of time earlier in the year explaining Bernie Sanders to conservatives in real life.

    Them: Bernie is communist.
Me: You are thinking in the wrong terms. He’s a nationalist — like a 1990s Democrat (buy American, etc.). He wants things that benefit the working class. No bad trade deals, no shipping jobs out, immigration that works for the people not the mega-corps. He’s basically a 1990s Democrat. The cost of college is outrageous these days.

Anymore, both sides do so much misrepresenting bullshit and even the media participates in it, usually from the “left” but FoxNews sometimes repeats stupid crap.

We used to have better journalism.

Dan Rather’s career ended when he used shoddy evidence that was obviously fake against Bush (that letter from the 1960s that somehow used Arial font).

Today, shoddy information is just the norm.

It’s pretty hard to hold, say, Trump to high standards (like what should happen) when the media doesn’t hold itself to high standard any more.

Obama has been a relatively honest president. Trump clearly at least in the things he says, will be significantly less honest.

It’s pretty damn hard to figure out if Trump or Clinton was the bigger liar. But at least Trump seemed compassionate. Hillary couldn’t even fake that she cared.

The media is the one setting the lower standards for truthfulness — but in may not be in their control — social media, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook give non-journalists a way to disseminate information without vetting like, unlike say 10 years ago.

    • NewFormatSux says:

I get what you’re saying about Bernie, but he honeymooned in Moscow.

    • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Hmeyers in a swerve away from absolute partisanship but still firmly on the road says:
      11/14/2016 at 4:11 pm

      @Bobbo re: left’s disinformation /// Partisan formulation? Ha, ha……..you can’t avoid it.

I was saying both sides do disinformation. /// Yeah, but you harp on the left. Thats a tell. See above…. and throughout your analysis.

Left example: “Hands up! Don’t shoot!” — the guy in Ferguson, Missouri. /// You can find specific examples of where cop shooting is justified perhaps even at Ferguson but the phrase has a general application. cops shoot too many people. All lives matter and no one deserves to be shot in the back by cops under no threat at all.

Left example: “Seas will rise 10 meters by 2010” /// MUCH BETTER than AGW doesn’t exist. Your false equivalency is the product of misplaced partisanship. Note: I don’t recall ANYONE saying that nutball assertion. 10 meters by 2100—even that is above most projections…but within possibility. Probably a result of your ignornace on the subject…not knowing what is reasonable from what is a dog whistle.

Left example: “Hurricane Katrina was caused by global warming.” (*) /// Yes…most people dont apply the difference between weather and climate. Again: much better than denying AGW is not an observable fact and actually IS the most vital issue facing human kind TODAY. Our failure to act today has consequences that will play out in the future. Better to over react than not react at all….or sadly as we do…. make it worse. Note: all weather is caused by temperatures. Whether or not ALL weather is “caused by” GW or not is more definitional than anything else. A pause in number of Hurricanes is a consequence of weather being highly chaotic and that pause in no way demonstrated a lack of GW…just the precision of predictions. Note 2: Hurricanes for last 3 years have been larger and more powerful, record breaking, and will only grow.

Left example: 2004: “Do you feel a draft? George W. Bush is going to reinstate the draft after the election.”
Left example: Romney wants to ban condoms and birth control. /// HM–you are conflating what individual people say on which you can find every stupid notion ever thought or imagined on all issues. Cherry picking as you do here is an example of partisan reasoning: defective. When discussing “politics” you really need to stick with formal party positions or statements and policies of party leaders and shakers….not you and me the mere hoi polloi. This would sharpen your argument quite a bit.

I’ll stop now. If you’d like a specific point addressed, I will, but the foregoing is the theme.

      • Hmeyers says:

“Yeah, but you harp on the left. Thats a tell. See above…. and throughout your analysis.”

Cause: I was arguing that both sides do it. You said “the left” didn’t.

        Effect: I provided examples.

        Causes and effect. Science!

        • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Hmeyers sounding quite reasonable in continuing response but simply not supported by the record says:

“Yeah, but you harp on the left. Thats a tell. See above…. and throughout your analysis.”

Cause: I was arguing that both sides do it. You said “the left” didn’t. /// No. HM: can you do a “textual analysis”? ===IE==forget your position or what you want to say or what or who you think you are responding to and just read the words on a page as if for the first and only time?

          What we have is:

          1. First six posts making the false equivalence that the democrats are the same or worse than republicans for taking to the streets in protest/violence.

          2. My post saying the difference was in the LEADERSHIP….not the mob.

          3. Then you post: “….it was usually it was only elements of the left promoting these kinds of falsehoods, usually about George W. Bush…..”

          4. And I then parsed your response to show again that it was the LEADERSHIP of the Republican party that has been at this denigration of the other side as “Unamerican” as far back as my own perception takes us….McCarthy….right to now with Trump starting with birtherism and then to Mexican race baiting.

Effect: I provided examples. /// Yes…examples all refuted as lies that have you sucked into Republican support.

Causes and effect. Science! /// cause and effect is non-partisan. Try it.

          • Hmeyers says:

My old comments here should be findable.

During the Obama/birther thing I said things like ..

“Ok, McCain was born in Panama — even if Obama was born in Kenya, what would it matter?”

Didn’t I say Cruz’s abortion plan was “If you get raped, you have to have the rapist’s baby and give it up for adoption”.

I have no problems with the protestors — everybody needs to vent.

About the only political issue you and I actually disagree on is probably guns.

And I think green energy is important regardless of whether or not AGW is real.

So I’m not sure where you are getting some of these ideas.

          • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

HM: I’m responding to what you said in this thread. I even provided the exact language. No need to go all general…its a recapitulation of the comment you made.

You are right….if for some reason the point of the exchange is lost or ambiguous, we can let it go.

Guns is the only thing? Even that doesn’t come to my mind. “Its good to be forgetful” …. makes life so much easier.

Should be of concern….. when you agree or disagree with someone else on almost all issues, the exception “should” maybe cause your own position to be looked at more carefully than you otherwise might. You know… what with the established track record being of worth.

      • NewFormatSux says:

Now it’s individual people? The draft was talked about all over, including this blog. Ban birth control was on stage at the Democratic convention, George Stephanopolous asked Republicans about it at a debate as part of their plan.

        • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Pence is very strongly for outlawing all abortions for any reason whatsoever.

………what is partially and mis-remembered from 20 years ago is hardly relevant. At least try to get your ideas from the current decade?

  12. Phydeau says:

Wow, Trump considering John “Bomb Iran” Bolton for Secretary of State

    http://slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2016/11/14/trump_is_seriously_considering_john_bolton_for_secretary_of_state.html

Another Republican DC insider joining the Trump administration?

Hey, let’s start a war with Iran, because that one Dubya started with Iraq was so successful… 🙄 🙄

Nothing but Establishment Republican Fat Cats so far in the Trump administration.

Feeling that buyer’s remorse yet, wingnuts? You will. You will.

    • Phydeau says:

Holy Crap! Man you are seriously obsessed with this. You really should get a grip.

Its not like we’re going to change our mind and say “OK we made a mistake, Hillary can be President now.”

        Try to relax.

        • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Staying on subject for this thread? My===that is off point when we should still be lambasting the Clintons?

The Red Herring diversion. Just too obvious.

    • NewFormatSux says:

Bolton supported Trump unlike the rest of the neo-cons. Trump already overruled his VP at the debate when asked about Ukraine and Russia. Doesn’t matter what Bolton wants. Trump’s not like Obama and letting his Sec State talk him into a war.

    • NewFormatSux says:

Wait, didn’t you tell us all the Republicans hate Trump?
