    The law took years to write and while it will be almost impossible for them to get rid of it entirely in their first 100 days, there are some things they can do to reverse some of its major provisions from the very get go, padding banks profits almost as soon as the new year begins.

    Once Republicans get rid of the “Volcker-rule,” banks will once again be able to make speculative investments that led to the industry’s downfall almost a decade ago.

    Another major target – the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, will almost assuredly go away.

    They made news just a few months ago in September when they fined Wells Fargo more than $100 million for the widespread illegal practice of secretly opening unauthorized accounts without the permission of account holders. This protection will no longer exist under a Trump administration.

    That’s your Trump, standing up to the fat cats on Wall Street! 🙄 🙄

      Dodd Frank should be repealed. We have an agency that gets its own money and can pass whatever rules it feels like. Congress has no authority. The President has no authority except maybe can change the chairman. On top of that, the rules they did issue are secret rules so the banks don’t even know what to do. An invitation to bribery, and it does not comport with the Constitution.
      That they are going after the competitors to Goldman Sachs is not a coincidence.

        It’s pathetic, seeing the Trump apologists starting up already. It’s OK that he hires big money lobbyists to work in his administration when he promised to get rid of them, because lobbying is protected by the First Amendment! Wha?

        You were the same with Dubya. Worshiped and apologized for him until it was blindingly obvious how bad he was, then you denied ever knowing him.

        He spends all his time being mad at “Republicans” .. but really what happened was people in swing states who voted for Obama once or twice voted for Trump this time.

        And a good chunk of Democrats stayed home.

          I’m not sure about the stayed home. Let’s wait until final results come in. Probably true that lots of people were uninspired and Trump aggressively went after votes in her ‘base’. Saying that Democrats’ plan for blacks is to ask for your vote and then say see you in four years was pure genius. Now when the ground game goes out to get absentee ballots, people will remember this and realize that it’s true. The last time they heard from a Democrat was four years ago when they asked for them to vote. Trump held lots of rallies in Detroit saying it.

            Hillary – Nearly 6 million less votes than Obama.

            Trump – Nearly 400 million less votes than Romney.

            A fair chunk of Democrats decided to not vote.

            I’d say that 5+ million less votes says that pretty loud and clear.

      It’s Joe Scarborough saying that by the media saying that Hillary had a 99.98% chance of winning the election …

      That meant her supporters didn’t need to go vote. They didn’t need to persuade their Trump supporting neighbor to change his mind.

      The short version: the video explains how self-assured dumbnuts like you played a large part of Hillary losing the election.

      So why you mad? You are reason Hillary lost. Statistically, it was the people like you that caused Trump to get elected because of their self-assureness and drinking the Kool-Aid meant they didn’t need to vote.

      You are to blame for Trump. The evidence is pretty clear cut. Plus not listening to Bernie people like me.

      Now it’s too late. You already screwed it all up for everyone.

        But Trump also named Steve Bannon, the executive chairman of Breitbart News, as “chief strategist and senior counselor” to the president. He will be one of Trump’s closest advisers and, one can presume, one of the most powerful people in America.

        The press release says that Preibus and Bannon will be “equal partners to transform the federal government,” making it clear that his role will not be subordinate to Preibus or anyone else.

        In his role at Breitbart, he promoted and legitimized the modern white supremacist movement, sometimes euphemistically referred to as the “alt-right.”

        Ben Shapiro, who worked alongside Bannon for four years as Breitbart’s Editor-at-Large, wrote that Bannon “openly embraced the white supremacist alt-right.” According to Shapiro, “Breitbart has become the alt-right go-to website… pushing white ethno-nationalism as a legitimate response to political correctness, and the comment section turning into a cesspool for white supremacist mememakers.”

    Now, as he prepares to assume the presidency, an open question remains about the capital he repeatedly spurned: Just how much is he willing to become a part of it?
