“Hold my beer bruh…and watch this!”

  1. bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

I drove up to Stonehenge in the early morning. No one else around. I marveled. “If this was the USA, there would be a fence all around this place so that you could not even see the rocks.” And I wondered if anyone had ever hit those rocks in their cars being too drunk to miss them.

I think Stonehenge is more protected now….same with the glass ovens in Italy or Ireland….you can walk right up and stick your face into the open hearth until your eyebrows burn off. In america: 10 feet behind a rope.

    And these idiots show why.

They’ll make good Republicans….. even the ready excuse works.

    • Not So Fast says:

To be fair the rock was leaning left, and the kids went with it.

    • Stonehenge was re-constructed in the 1950s with concrete and cranes.

Turn off MSNBC and read a book or two.

      • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

That struck me as not impossible, so I googled: https://google.com#q=stonehenge+reconstruction+1954
and at first glance thought it might have been “repaired” a couple of times. but the thumbnails showing scaffolding and such gave me the impression it was all poking fun. Like the great pasta harvest of 1946.

I almost did post those rocks should be rebuilt as best they can be…. with a placard to the side.

………….and St Pauls Cathedral (or whatever) should return all that stolen marble to the colloseum.

Pros and Cons to all we do.

      • Chris Wundram says:

There is more than one stonehenge. There are a few that were built from concrete around that time, like the one in Maryhill, WA, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryhill_Stonehenge

    • IM77 says:

Good comments, bobo, except for the Republicans generalization. That makes you appear pretty stupid.

      • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

You don’t see the humor at all?

        …………… stick around.

    • NewFormatSux says:

Democrats have destroyed lots of natural things.
They can’t even identify men and women.

  2. Martin says:

Selfish idiots. Anything short of 2,000+ hours of “hard labor” community service is not justice; real work not just wiping down tables at the senior center cafeteria.

  3. Geoworker says:

Being a fan of the outdoors, these people ruin the enjoyment of nature for those of us who go see but don’t touch so that others can appreciate these places. Very sad…they think only of themselves.

    • paul says:

They did not ruin anything. They just rearranged it. Like nature does, all the time.

  4. Mr Diesel - Libertarian says:

I say we plant a bunch of listening devices on each one and air drop them via parachute into North Korea with a map to Kim Jung Loon’s place and a .22cal pistol with a silencer on it.

    Problem solved.

    Three worthless shit stains.

  5. Too bad that 4 ton sea shore rock didn’t fall on one of your toddlers. The world could have been spared a lifetime of Climate Change shrieking.

If anyone thinks that second rock had been balancing on a sand pile since the Jurassic Period 145 million years ago like the ABC reporter stated, please move to Venezuela immediately.

  6. Hmeyers says:

Next: Oregon’s famous leaning log is vandalized by a beaver.

    • ElRon says:

You must be that guy on the beach who walks around knocking down kids sand castles.

  7. Phydeau says:

I’m sorry, is this really a big deal? Rocks erode all the time. Idiots pushing rocks over… meh. I can’t get worked up about it.

    • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Phydeau: is being the only rational voice on this forum wearing you down much like a pinnacle of clay over the eons?

Looks like you are on the verge of toppling from your own grown lopsidedness of negativity. Rocks erode all the time but pinnacles such as shown are much more rare. They actively demonstrate the evolution of earth over time. Nice to have real examples rather than pictures in a text book.

How about rocks carved into religious symbols? Blown up by the Taliban. Same deal?

      • jpfitz says:

You know the answer to your question. NO. The idiots knocked over a natural formation, made By nature. The Buddhas were hewn from the cliff side by man.

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhas_of_Bamiyan

      • jpfitz says:

I don’t think my point will be clear from reading above from Phydeau. The Buddhas were destroyed with Islamic lunacy. The idiots who knocked over a formation formed by nature have impulse problems and will be found by Facebook’s shadow profiles.

No comparison, natural formations are formed constantly, man made symbols of peace are more valuable.

This is all a part of the news cycle spinning.

        • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Thats a valid distinction: theology vs impulse control. Supports the notion that only religion can make good people do bad things…..if those dudes were good to begin with. Hard to say: when you grow up totally ignorant with only religion and goats….hard to say how good and bad apply.

Also valid I think the notion that man-made objects are better than natural ones? Every exception I can think of really goes to scale. Still…. theres a cross-over point there somewhere.

Choose: Mona Lisa or fill up the Grand Canyon?

          • jpfitz says:

Save the Canyon and copy the Mona? Meh, it won’t matter to a lot of us here on DU anyway, most have probably seen the Canyon, and the Mona, in a museum or book.

          • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Very pragmatic response…. outside the box I created.

            Well done.

  8. bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

    btw: what is a “bruh”?

    • Tomas says:

I never want to see you chastise someone for not knowing how to use google again, got it?

      • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

        Ha, ha………that is very fair.

WAIT A MINUTE……… I musta been kidding again?

          • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Some nasty vines there…..funny ones too.

I do wonder how many were seriously hurt. some of those face plants must have busted teeth at a minimum. Playgrounds are a rough place to learn about gravity and momentum.

          • jpfitz says:

I really didn’t want to link it but I was laughing and hoped you’d not be offended, yeah, some nasty bits for sure.

I’ll watch the other vines another day for a laugh.

      • NewFormatSux says:

        That didn’t take long:

        Ever hear of google?

The answers are right at your fingertips, but you prefer to crow your ignorance.

        Why is that?

Of course I could give the answer …but I was hoping to teach the man how to fish so he could survive in this information age on his own rather than panhandle in the streets for basic information.

Evidently, he and his cohorts are immune to edumacation.

        Waste of a species.

        • jpfitz says:

First came the grammar nazi’s, now we have the google police. Sometimes it’s problem with access to the google and all it’s pipes and tubes, or bandwidth and wifi availability.

Maybe asking instead of searching today is kinda like having a digital conversation, more personal, idk…

          • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Hey Jp: NotForSure is just quoting an earlier post of mine. Shit burns deep when its quoted back to you….. so I think it worked.

don’t ask questions without even showing enough interest to google yourself.

Stage Two: use it as a source of humor.

Link to Pedro’s “Whoosh Over the Head” graphic. Pedro’s best post in years. Yeah….. its not his own work…. but he googled for it…. and thats a good thing.

      • NewFormatSux says:

I knew it would happen eventually. Just didn’t think it would be so fast that even bobbo couldn’t forget what he said.

  9. Mr Diesel - Libertarian says:

I am more concerned about being on the road with the idiotic Tesla Death Mobiles today.

  10. Hi great website! Does running a blog like this require a large amount of work? I have no knowledge of coding however I was hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyways, should you have any recommendations or techniques for new blog owners please share. I understand this is off topic but I simply had to ask. Thanks!
