What Should the Federal Government do with the current influx of illegal immigrants coming into the Southwest states?

  • Deport all of them, no exceptions
  • Keep the abandoned children, deport the adults
  • Keep the adults, deport the kiddies
  • Welcome them with open arms, then close the border
  • Welcome them with open arms, then open the border completely
  • Secretly ship them to Canada
  • Other (Please elaborate in comments)

  1. Tommy says:

Other, divide them evenly between the Blue States which wanted open borders to begin with.

    • Greg Allen says:

What is an “open border” anyway?

      Or a “closed border.”

Are you talking about a three-trillion dollar boondoggle fence?

(or pick any ginormous number you want. Conservatives never, ever mention how much it will cost to “close” the border. )

      • Tommy says:

“Open Border” is a euphemism dummy. Do I have to explain everything to you?

But I bet it would still be cheaper to actually put up a fence, then it will be to take care of every fucking lawbreaker who wants a free ride on the American gov’t tit.

So what state do YOU live in and where can we send them for some of your money.

      • MikeN says:

So the government would spend 500 thousand dollars for every one foot of fencing?

  2. bobbo, we think with words, and flower with ideas says:

I voted to Deport them all without exception. A country will not last long, or will have lots of problems if it has unmanaged immigration….. just as we do.

For illegal immigrants already here: I would set up a schedule with categories and kick out some but basically giving citizenship or a green card to those who have worked. Criminals to be summarily executed or put into the Army.

I’d give all workers whether legal or not minimum wage, free emergency room care and what not. Thats basic humanitarianism. No drivers license though.

Lots of details to be worked out including fining illegal employers on a sliding scale that goes up to crippling on multiple violations.

A society of LAWS======>that are enforced. Just what we aren’t.

    • IM75 says:

Geez. I can’t believe I finally agree with Bobbo on something.

      • Next says:

Close to agreeing. No free emergency room care. Too expensive.

Give them a 5-coupon book good at any CVS “Minute-Clinic”.

        • bobbo, Big Brained Apes with Lizard Emotions is an Evolutionary Dead End says:

E/R’s arent that expensive “at the margin” as they are open and staffed 24/7. Some of the aftercare in the Hosp can get expensive, but the indigent GOMER’s often run into a thing called discrimination.

I’m against it. Again: basic humanity. I don’t really care all that much regarding the illegals==>I care how such attitudes corrupt all Good Americans. Not hard for evil practiced on one group to be transferred to any other.

          Know what I mean?

    • ECA says:

      Ok,
SOME UNDERSTANDING for those that DONT GET IT..
      1. most that are illegal and taking jobs…about 1% of jobs in the USA..
      2. Over 80% of those jobs are Minor, and pay little.
      3. THEY really dont want min pay jobs, they KNOW they SUCK..and the employers WILL PAY for those with knowledge.
      4. EMPLOYERS LOVE them…To PAY a USA person MIN WAGES, cost the WAGE+ matching funds+ State medical+ FED Social sec…Adds up to over 2x the wages of an illegal..
      5. HOw many people can MOW LAWNS..its good pay. $20-40 per Lawn, for 1 hour work..They do JOBS you dont want..
      6. They make it SO, you have to COMPETE for lower pay jobs..
      7. For PEOPLE just getting into the JOB MARKET…you must learn 1 thing..YOU EITHER HAVE A SPECIAL SKILL, or you have to FIGHT for a CHEAP JOB..Until you are willing to DO’ any job..you are not ready for the JOBS at the bottom.
      8. eveN THOSE WITH A HIGHER EDUCATION MUST learn other jobs. int he Current world, you must know at LEAST 4 different jobs…and do them well. IT dont even matter if you like them.

      • ECA says:

        ps,
LETS HIRE allt he mexicans to do our jobs…
THEn we can ALL retire on the wages they make..

        UNDERSTAND another point.
THEY WOULD NOT COME here, if certain things WERE NOT HAPPENING.
        1. they get Fair pay..
        2. the EMPLOYER, PAYS them..

They shouldnt be Abused for this. its the EMPLOYERS that should be fined..the truth is they are NOT.

    • Greg Allen says:

How much will it cost to catch and deport them all?

      Billions and billions, I assume.

I strongly supect that it would be a lost more cost-effective to bust and fine the wage-theft businesses who hire illegals.

      • MikeN says:

No one wants to do that. George Bush(!) actually started sending out a freeze employment with no-match letters, and this was smacked down by a federal judge. It is actually pretty straightforward. The IRS and Department of Labor already knows where many of the employed illegal immigrants are, as there SSN don’t match. So they can either show up and arrest the illegals and deport them, fine the employers, or insist on halting employment with the no-match letters rather than simply asking for an update with the correct info.

  3. Tim says:

Welcome them with open arms, then open the border completely

I’ve always maintained {ha! storm damage dictates I do it now so the cows don’t eat wild cherry} that fences and borders are to keep the cattle in.

It seems, ‘border agents’ are a hundred miles north of borders anyways molesting people’s wives while they plant pot on the kids and husbands. — another reason that it’s ludicrous to have a headline that ‘40% of agents aren’t on the border’ because of this — They never were…

“”Despite federal law allowing certain federal agents to conduct suspicionless search and seizures within 100 miles of the border,

South America looks nice. I’d like to visit some day. But the extolation to go somewhere else if I don’t like it here has always been a slap in the face without proper ‘papers’ — Ohh, I can fly there, just not walk. I guess, I’ll have to swim and damn the torpedoes and VLF comms.

The record deportations is a myth, some fancy accounting just to claim the talking point. They are including people that the Border People catch at the border, hold for a little while, and comparing that to the deportations of others that do not include that number. There was also for awhile, a push to give some plea-bargains just to goose the numbers for awhile, but soon they ran out of people they were holding for deportation.

    • bobbo, we think with words, and flower with ideas says:

        “”No bananas for YOU!

It’s moments like this that make being a windup toy fun…

“””There was this experiment one time; some scientists took a bunch of monkeys and locked them in a room. And in this room, they had tied a rope to the ceiling and let it dangle down to the floor. And at the top of the rope they had tied a bunch of bananas. Well, any time one of the monkeys would try to climb the rope to get the bananas, they’d blast them all with a firehose! After a few rounds of this, any time one of the monkeys tried to climb the rope, the rest would start beating the hell out of it. Pretty soon, none of the monkeys even tried to climb the rope, let alone get the bananas. Then, they started to replace the monkeys one by one; a new one would come in, try to climb the rope, get the hell beaten out of it, and give up. After a few rounds, it would start beating up the other monkeys if they tried to climb the rope.

Pretty soon, the scientists had replaced all of the original monkeys; none of them had been firehosed but still, whenever one tried to climb the rope, the rest would beat the hell out of it. Why? Because that’s the way that things had always been….”

        • bobbo, Big Brained Apes with Lizard Emotions is an Evolutionary Dead End says:

Yep Four Tits, its called culture. aka: adaptive information passed by means other than dna. Eventually, an Alpha Male ((in hoomans usually the drunkard or the schizo)) would beat the other apes down and climb the rope for the banana. If no fire hose water appeared, the culture would change again. Everything happening just as it should.

Did you read that tale as a positive or a negative??

      • MikeN says:

You’re not paying very close attention. You can actually find every part of that claimed at some point or another, including the solar plants.

And it’s not just what has been proposed. The bills that have previously passed either the House or Senate would effectively open the border, bring in tens of millions and give them welfare. Extended family brought in? That’s why they’re called anchor babies.

  5. LibertyLover says:

Let them all in and then open the borders. I hate the slow death the country is experiencing. Better to rip the band-aid off all at once.

    Get it over with.

  6. spsffan says:

Let them all in and then open the borders. I believe in the vision of the founding fathers. If it weren’t for open boarders in our past*, 99 and 64/100% if me wouldn’t be here. The remaining 36/100% is Cherokee.

And, besides, the fences and boarder controls seem to be extraordinarily expensive, wasteful, ineffective and a huge threat to our civil liberties. Rather like the drug war.

    • bobbo, we think with words, and flower with ideas says:

Hey spiffy==are there any “changed conditions” now compared to 1776? You know when lots of local jurisidictions had their own local immigration rules regarding race and religion??

If a country decides it doesn’t need to limit immigration then no limitation is the policy. But when a country decides we have enough poor, uneducated, criminal, and disease ridden unqualified work force….. well, thats a different circumstance don’t you think???? …… do you??

      • spsffan says:

So, as long as you got yours.

Changed conditions? Indeed. These days, we consider folks of African and Asian dissent to be actual human beings rather than cattle. Why I hear tell it’s even legal to teach them to read!!!!!

Oh, and poor, okay, I’ll give you that. Uneducated, well compared to what our public schools turn out on average, I’m not so sure. Criminal? Compared to what? Congress? The NSA? Har!!!! Disease ridden? Probably no worse than the average city bus in the USA. Unqualified? Well, someone is offering them work, or they would stop coming.

Has anyone EVER read the Statue of LIBERTY?!

“… Give me your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free…”

I know it’s French and all, but seriously! If America is ANYTHING about FREEDOM then our U.S. borders MUST BE OPEN TO ALL PEOPLE!

The very fact that anyone is talking about closing off borders or deporting people FROM AMERICA indicate that something much worse is happening INSIDE the borders — NOT OUTSIDE!

So if you want to talk about an immigration problem the you might FIRST try looking at the very government when it comes to laws or even policies that REGULATE what SHOULD be an OPEN AND FREE IMMIGRATION PROCESS!!! Anyone waiting over TWO DECADES to immigrate to America should be proof ENOUGH that the government is BROKEN — NOT THE PEOPLE!

… Imagine that. A REPUBLICAN saying shit like this.

    • bobbo, we think with words, and flower with ideas says:

Can you confirm? No limitations at all? If you can get here you can stay here? does that include become a voting citizen with or without any waiting period or knowledge test?

That saying though is all American. The tell is calling those immigrants the “wretched masses” (whatever). Seems to me it was a bait and switch call for cheap labor for our mills, factories, western expansion and so forth. Had to fill up the place before the French, Brits, Russians, or Injuns tried to take it back. Mexico was no threat because when they lose an invasion, we wisely take more of their land.

          Actions have consequences.

          • Tim says:

I *think* you’re correct. With the populace rapidly approaching a red-six condition {Logan’s Run} because they actually believed in their imposed puritanical heratige, there weren’t enough to keep the heathen christianized {or some quill-dipper with an anthropological background surmized} so something had to be done.

  8. I am truly thankful to the holder of this web page who has shared this great paragraph at here.

  9. MikeN says:

Cantor lost his primary. Probably only be awhile before the open-borders crowd will claim it was because of his fierce opposition to amnesty. It’s true, he sent out mailers declaring himself not just opposed, but the one standing up to Obama and Reid.

    http://cdn.breitbart.com/mediaserver/Breitbart/Big-Government/2014/05/27/Cantor-Adjpg.jpg

  10. MikeN says:

It’s really quite simple. Numbers matter. Having millions of illegal immigrants puts tremendous pressure on public resources but also on the culture. This applies to legal immigration too. It is one thing to have 100 thousand, or even a million. But ten million, bringing in millions more? Do you want to go to a job interview that is conducted in Spanish?

  11. MikeN says:

The left-wing identity-politics crowd knows that such huge numbers of illegal immigrants preclude easy assimilation and integration. They like that, given that they are self-appointed representatives of millions of new in-need constituents. And they don’t care whether illegal immigration is disastrous to the working American poor, among them millions of Hispanics — a fact that once caused an exasperated Cesar Chavez and the UFW to go down to the border to demand an end to unchecked and unlawful immigration (was he a “nativist“?). Likewise, the Republican elite establishment is shielded from the direct effects of illegal immigration, in the sense that their neighborhoods, their schools, and their emergency rooms are quite distant from the ground-zero landscapes where millions have entered the U.S. illegally. So fronting for big corporations to have access to cheap labor is a rather easy thing to do, unethical as it is at a time of serial high unemployment.

  17. Phydeau says:

    Yawn.

The same old debate. Nothing will change. The current system works very well for the people in power.

And let’s see how fast anti-immigration people change their tune, when they’re informed of how much prices will go up for all the things illegals produce, working for their sub-minimum wages at brutal jobs like agriculture.

But it sure is handy at election time. Wave the bloody flag, then put it away until the next election. Haven’t any of you people caught on?

    • Tommy says:

Sorry, none of us are quite as brilliant as you are, Fido.

Now stop licking your balls, Here’s a milk bone, now go lay down and be a good boy.

      • Phydeau says:

You willing to pay $10 for a head of broccoli once all the illegals are gone and Americans earning minimum wage are harvesting them?

Put your money where your mouth is, pal.

        • MikeN says:

So now labor is the primary cost? And Americans should earn less so that rich people can pay less for broccoli?

If wages go from $6 an hour to $8 an hour, that matters a lot more than some guy having to pay $10 for broccoli.

Besides which, there is mass unemployment right now, so the wage increase wouldn’t be $6 to $8, but rather $0 to $7.

          • Phydeau says:

Hey, I’m in favor of higher minimum wage for everyone. And it’s not just the rich who will pay more for broccoli, it’s everyone. It’s an interesting idea to send all the unemployed people out to work the fields, but I dunno. Sounds like the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia.

          • MikeN says:

LOL, now liberals are complaining about the Khmer Rouge, when they were big supporters back in the day.
Next you’ll say it’s like the Great Leap Forward, or a Soviet common farm.

        • Tommy says:

          Jeeez, what an idiot.

      • Phydeau says:

        Anyone? Bueller?

        Yeah, I thought so.

        • Tommy says:

Do you even read the crap that you write?….Basically what you said was are you willing to pay more for shit once the criminals are gone?

          Incredible.

          • Phydeau says:

Incredible as it may seem, Tommy, it’s true. The law requires employers to pay mininum wage to their employees in America. Illegal immigrants get paid less than minimum wage. If employers pay Americans minimum wage, what they produce becomes more expensive. Google it.

          • Tommy says:

You’re so missing the point Fido. I give zero fucks about the price of broccoli, or if a higher minimum wage will result in higher prices at McDonalds.

I’m talking about a gov’t that picks and chooses what laws they enforce or don’t. The minimum is going to go up regardless AND you will pay for the immigrants sustenance as well. Its a double whammy.

So if your question was am I willing to pay more to Americans to pick oranges, sure….better that than a complete open door policy to people who don’t understand that if you have children, you need to be able to support them yourself.

If that sounds misogynistic, tough, I lived in the third world for a large part of my life, and for the majority that is the mindset.

          • Phydeau says:

I understand your viewpoint Tommy, and that’s one solution to the problem. And it’s simple. The government just has to crack down on the big corporations that employ illegals, make it not worth their while to hire them. When the demand goes down, the supply will go away. It’s simple, but the government hasn’t done it. I wonder why?

          • Tim says:

“”I lived in the third world for a large part of my life

            Let me guess…. …. …. ..Government TDY.

    • Tim says:

“”then put it away until the next election

It has to be a new flag, even if cut from the same type cloth — A stored ‘bloody’ one will not only mold but become crunchy and just not wave right during the parade.
