Couple of points about Sunday’s show:
1. Adam really doesn’t know anything about autism, yet he spouts on like he does. Next time he’s on a “hot pockets” tour, he should head on across the border and visit my eight year old daughter and then tell us how great it is to have autism. There isn’t a day I don’t worry about what’s going to happen with her once we’re gone. Not to say I don’t see where he’s coming from. When my son was in preschool, the school psychologist thought our son had aspergers. He really is like what Adam describes, a bit quirky and extremely intelligent. He’s now completing high school and is likely off to Waterloo University next year. So, we did laugh off what that psychologist said years ago. BTW, neither of our children are on any medication, nor has anyone suggested it for our daughter.
2. MMR vaccine. My wife is a GP, I actually considered getting the MMR vaccine this weekend because of the outbreaks of Measles in Canada. I told her of your daughter in laws experience, she said it couldn’t have been the vaccine because it would take many more days to have such an effect. Just what she said. I was born in the period they consider high risk, 1957. It as just after the last outbreak and before vaccinations so I likely have no immunity.
What preceded the United Nations, was the League of Nations (1919-1946). Which the United States never joined, and obviously wasn’t very effective at preventing WW2. No more than the Inter-Parliamentary Union (1889 – now) prevented WW1. Note that the IPU still exists, though it’s probably just an international drinking club. After the UN took over.
