i was listening to some talk radio last night, and it hit me
why i like you guys. you are skilled at your craft, and aside
from adam’s background, it isn’t necessarily your chosen
profession. you are coming to this with fresh perspective
and creativity. most of these other guys in the radio game
for several years have grown stale and repetitive, ignore
the quality of their content, and only care about ratings.
yes, it is a business, and everyone has to earn a living,
but being number one isn’t the end all achievement, nor
is it an indicator of success. it just means you broadcast
in a time slot that reaches a larger audience. many seem
to be jealous of rush and beck, and though i agree that
their stuff is mostly trash, the verbal diarrhea is childish
and infantile. and what about the content of no agenda? in
all honesty, nobody dissects media with the same effort
or ability. this is what i enjoy. others may say they do it,
but all you get is generic surface material. and you seem
to do it in a fashion that is serious and legitimate, or fluffy
and humorous. you understand the difference, and know
when to deliver the appropriate punch. and if everyone
used the same business model? of course they’d be much
poorer, but on a level playing field. nobody knows how
it would play out. an opinion is just an opinion. your show
forces me to think, drives me slightly insane, and puts a
creepy smile on my face. just what the doctor ordered.
