From an article over at Quartz that I think is undeservedly dour. What you think of these changes?

Thanks to Barry Ritholtz

  1. NewformatSux says:

Close to a death spiral. It is what liberals intend, as children being raised by parents is an institution that stands against the power of the state.

    • voltan says:

Sounds like you’re running for political office in Serbia.

      Or South Carolina. 🙂

      • dusanmal says:

I don’t know about South Carolina but for Serbia that is political speech of poor consequences. Not for good reasons but still useless. Serbia is politically what liberals intended – to win there you must promise more giving to the people, you must promise new ways to increase Government and as the newest leaders proved – create new duties for Government and new Ministers(Secretary of…) positions to “take care” of them. People there are wondering why aren’t we dancing in the streets now that we have Obamacare? (In other words, Communism is a very hard weed to weed out).

    • Captain Obvious says:

Wow, the whining started early on this story.

  2. allgood347 says:

This article seems to make the assumption that alone=unhappy. Specifically regarding the divorce rate statistics, a divorce after the age of 50, while now creating 2 new single people, you would expect them to be happier, (at least ONE of them) or they wouldn’t have gotten divorced…

  3. bobbo, just what do you think income inequality leads to says:

I stopped reading after the headline:

“Lonelier and poorer: the incredibly depressing future for Americans”

HOW COULD IT GO ANY OTHER WAY?????

    JUST LOOK….fer Christ’s Sake.

……………but I also read allgood’s post and I realize there are many factors all of which need to be analyzed to reach what I already take as a foregone conclusion. Like Global Warming you know??? Some things are obvious. May not be true—but they are obvious. Ha, ha…… again, I crack myself up.

Ain’t gonna read the article. Too depressing no matter what it says.

Did just catch Obama’s Ass Tearing Rip Roaring speech on his Healthplan. So many good facts, reviews, criticisms, quotes. Not covered at all at Faux Spews—aka Treason TV Network.

Pedro plusing a retarded post by NFS. Ha. ha. Nothing changes. Dumbshits voting to cut their own throats…always proud of it too.

One thing about money. It does represent/allow for more freedom of choices. All kinds of choices. To get married or not to get married, have kiddies, get an education, buy a book. All kinds of things. Are people with less money (in modern societies) more likely to marry later in life? I think that is the norm.

How many twists to put in that pretzel to make myself think otherwise?

Wise up FLERPs==this is your kiddies future. Don’t be so FLERPy.

    • NewformatSux says:

      > So many good facts, reviews, criticisms, quotes. Not covered at all at Faux Spews—aka Treason TV Network.

So do you need some more facts thrown at you before you again post that Obama’s health care plan is crap?

      • bobbo, in a Universe of Possibilities, the same thing doesn't always occur says:

Why yes, as a matter of fact, I eat facts as whore do overs, main course, and desert.

        What ya got?

        • NewformatSux says:

          Some facts:

I’ve been against Obamacare from the start.
          Obamacare = Crap

    • ± says:

      ****** sayeth bobbo ******
Dumbshits voting to cut their own throats…always proud of it too.
      **************************

Once again exercising your ability to author high irony.

      • bobbo, in a Universe of Possibilities, the same thing doesn't always occur says:

Have you seen the Teapartiers line up to sign up for the State Plans that are just re-labeled Obama Care? Like Kentucky’s Obamacare is called KyNect and they say: This is how it should be done, we need to defund Obamacare and get rid of it.

Just like Keep your government hands off my Medicare.

Its that unaware, sheepish, self throat cutting behavior.

        • ± says:

          Yes. More D/R activity.

          • bobbo, we think with words.... but words can't describe how inadequate this is says:

Not true He Who Throws His Vote Away:

Its 95% FLERP, the balance of 5% among all the rest including those who can’t tell shit from shinola: third party voters.

    • Mextli says:

I watched for about 15 minutes but couldn’t stand watching him play with his nose, had to turn it off.

Stick with CNN bobbo. They have either Barry or one of the Clintons on the air for what seems to be the last 40 years now. Chelsea will be on Piers Morgan tonight for a special treat.

      • bobbo, in a Universe of Possibilities, the same thing doesn't always occur says:

I really don’t like any of the Clintons. I tuns off almost all politicians on tv. Simply–they are all liars and posers and when telling the truth dwell on the obvious. I listen to commentators and book authors mostly.

  4. Guyver says:

    “Other Family Households”.

Is that code for gay couples or illegal aliens who try to raise a family in the U.S.?

“Married couples with children”… is the inverse over time for Muslims true if you break it down by religion?

How does this all relate to man-made global warming? Is there enough correlation to establish causality in liberal pseudo-science?

Will Bobbo marry Dallas? Will Dallas confess he’s not really a man? Will the world care?

Stay tuned for the next episode of Dvorak Uncensored.

    • bobbo, are we Men of Science, with patience and a tolerance for ambiguity, or Devo says:

Correlations. Interesting issue correlations. Truths correlate to other truths and negatively or not at all/randomly with lies. Concomitant causation. Confusing cause with effect.

Requires honesty, a willingness to be challenged, and some judgement.

      Not FLERPy at all.

    • Captain Obvious says:

Guyver slack jawed “Is that code for gay couples or illegal aliens who try to raise a family in the U.S.?”

Single parent households would be the biggest group. Also, households with non-family members living with them or two family households.

You really got to stop your obsessive male-on-male fantasies and go get a date or something.

  5. ECA says:

    oTHER FAMILY…
    Means..
Men and women living together…but not married..
    With/without children..

Its been found that NOT getting married can give you MORE money..
but, you can live with the father of your child..
    think about that..

    Get pregnant,
    Kick out the father..
    find another boy friend..
You can FILE with the state and get Assistance..
(as long as you dont give the Girl your REAL NAME, or get ID’, you may be safe)
Father paying out of pocket for Child care…

Then the Women can either SIT and get money, or work and get MORE MONEY..Just a little job, so they an keep the STATE assistance..

they MADE the game, so lets play it..

    • ECA says:

You must understand a few things here…

      MARRIED PEOPLE PAY MORE..in taxes..

If you retire…GEt a divorce BEFORE you retire..you will BOTH get money, MORE then relying on 1.5 of the MALE persons..

  6. LibertyLover says:

All this proves is that Divorce causes Global Warming on Mars.

  7. sargasso_c says:

It looks like a lot of lonely.

  8. Misogynisticlly Yours says:

    What do I think?

    Women’s liberation, baby!

This “death” of the traditional American family structure is a direct result of all those liberated women that have grown in numbers ever since the movement took root back in the 60’s.

Today, more women in America are now equal with men in the daily struggle to earn a buck. I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing, just DIFFERENT! But it’s probably bad if you’re a guy since there is now a lot more competition to deal with when looking for a job or even performing at one. And it’s not like very many men will become “kept” by their wives/girlfriends either.

So if you’re a fundamental American values type person then you’re likely going to see a problem. You might also see some kind of “moral decline” too. So the question to any of these fundamentalists really becomes one of where we get our morals? And about all I can say to that is, traditionally our societies morals were dictated to us through religion(s). My only problem with any religion has always been with who’s doing all of the talking – and interpreting!

    • Tim says:

So, what you are saying that if I just fuck everybody up the butt but can’t enjoy it like the methodists do then, “I just want to feel loved??” Am I, myself, one of those sad creatures as blind as that dude that said he fucked mohommed’s mom and then bragged about how she never told him such that I may be strikethed du’d by He?

      • Tim says:

Please disregard what my clone just spouted ^^ — Little tike stole my fingerprint authentication pattern. He also knows how to duck when I through m&ms at him. Contractors… Can’t live with them, can’t solve a sanitation problem by throwing bodies at it.

  9. Vilkas Unimaaki says:

In home country of Latvia we in radio often heard about in western Europe they had TV, we had potato. They had nice clothes. We had potato… They could travel freely, but at least we had potato.

Just making little joke, Russians took potato.

  10. What? The moth is always drawn to the flame? says:

I miss Sister Mary, this place has become a dillweed sausage festival.

    • bobbo, in a Universe of Possibilities, the same thing doesn't always occur says:

I was happy on my fourth Slushy Beer until you said that.

      Now, I’m sad.

Can’t have too many Hand Grenades.

  11. Captain Obvious says:

Overall, just way too much man-on-man love on these stories. It’s worse than Lord of the Rings.
