Now IPhones will issue Presidential Alerts from Obama, and they cannot be switched off. Big Brother indeed. Next step is the XBox will make sure you are not showing any negative behavior when receiving your daily message.
All smart phones with WEA ability, pretty much all new phones, receive emergency alerts, from the emergency alert system. The iphone and android phones have an app which alerts you when Obama is going to speak. Don’t want to know don’t download it. Just a slight difference between the two.

Did you read it or just post? Wireless Emergency Alerts.
“Once installed, AMBER and Emergency alerts are automatically sent to your phone unless you switch them off via Settings. However, should you be tired of Obama, just know that there’s no way to switch off Presidential alerts.”
The presidential alerts are part of the emergency alert system.
I am going to assume you didn’t read the FAQ so let me quote the relevant portion.
“Consumers may opt out of Imminent Threat and AMBER alerts. Per the WARN Act of 1996, Congress said that no consumer could opt out of Presidential Alerts.” Might I emphasize the word CONGRESS.
It may also be informative to MikeN that the Congress that passed the above said WARN Act of 1996 was passed by a Republican House and Senate.
Paranoia is no longer considered a disease in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-V).
Its now considered to be a reasonable assumption.
Foreign customs for the Father’s day: where I came from it is a custom for children to prepare an ambush or a trap for the father on the Father’s Day, to tie him and demand presents. It is customary for fathers to prepare for this and hide presents for children, using the location and unlocking to secure a release.
Not a joke – actual, old custom practiced by the quite large section of the society (and yes, we have identical setup vs. mothers for the Mother’s Day). Dates of our Father’s and Mother’s Day are not identical to USA ones, but similarly occurring during the Spring.
Sounds like a weird but cool custom. However, I don’t see anything like that ever being adopted in America.
Around here, nearly every governmental social service views men as either sperm donors (often as forceful donors more commonly known as rapists) or as pedophiles. The common assumption that all men are pigs has been engrained so much into our culture by our governmental stewards that we now assume all men are also unfit for fatherhood – despite the only requirement for being a father as having a working Johnson. I suspect this cultural phenomena has a lot to do with the feminists and all the hatred they have for pretty much everything which occurs about once a month too.
Nevertheless, it would seem, the message of the day would be to honor all fathers for being the successful sperm donors we know them to be. However, I think I will try to honor my sperm donor for being the man I knew him to be by being my dad (which has almost nothing to do fathering).
