Apparently no one wears seat belts there with all of the quick vehicle exits they are doing.
You got it right. It is considered “unmanly” to wear the belts.
Well they don’t have any damn commie guberment telling them what to do
Huh?
It’s true. But sometimes if you wear a seat belts, you can have more serious injuries, like that guy in a front collision.
Good Gawd, Russian drivers are PSYCHO. Red/green lights don’t mean anything apparently.
They don’t mean much in many places around me in the US. On par, drivers typically suck.
In Wash. DC they’ve peppered the streets with red light and speed (11+ mph over the limit) cameras.
And yet there’s plenty of people who can’t help themselves when they know the consequences.
Apparently you can get your driver’s license from a gumball machine.
That was just the FIRST WEEK on the job as special courier. Special safety protocols mandate no deliveries during rush hour.
It’s the ice.
Black ice, mostly.
As a whole, Russians are probably no worse than Americans at driving, and possibly better. (Owning a car is not considered a gwad-given right.) However, dash cams ARE ubiquitous, so we have a veritable plethora of accident videos to enjoy. (There are hundreds if not thousands of these on youtube.)
Cam-up all the cars in Orange NJ and you’d probably see about the same thing.
Not necessarily Orange County either. This shit happens EVERYWHERE!
The only reason you see more dash-cam videos from Russia is because their citizens use them more. And for damn good reason – the courts (law) in Russia SUCKS! And the insurance businesses know it.
… Sooner or later, some smart asshole in America will realize the demand/need for cheap dash cams too. However, it’s more likely going to be an add-on device for a GAME CONSOLE! After all, most people driving around already think they’re IN THEIR LIVING ROOMS!
(And don’t even get me started on iPhones or other “smart devices” since those things are very likely the reason for more than half of all the carnage right now!)
Many of the truckstops in the US are now carrying these dash-cam recorders. If you own or lease a truck, it makes a lot of sense to have one recording.
The biggest incentive is all the ambulance-chasing lawyers advertising on billboards with the catchphrase “Big truck accident”.
Tough bunch! The motorcycle guy looked like he wanted to fight.
I’m guessing the plethora of dash cams are to record idiotic driving for insurance claims.
And protection from crooked cops looking for a quick bribe.
No different than drivers in the United States (or in probably many other countries). The difference is they have dashboard cameras everywhere so it is all on tape. If we had dashboard cameras everywhere in the United States it would be the same thing.
A universal truth, most people suck at driving. Especially those claiming to be good drivers.
FTW
Crazy, but that’s how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Remind me never to go to Russia. Those folks are nuts.
Especially the pedestrians.
Don’t go to Russia.
DON’T GO OUTSIDE EITHER!!!
It looks like most people escaped with their life, unlike Game of Thrones!
This has been a Russian Health and Safety PSA, “Friends don’t let friends Play or Drive on Russian streets”.
play nine_inch_nails-the_hand_that_feeds_(photek_straight_remix) with that video
oh right.. you prolly can’t get that..
Kinda obvious but worth mentioning it
The first clip, the car falling from the sky, was made with “Action Movie FX” (iPhone)
The other ones sadly are not.
Lucky sons a bitches.
Those crazy Boston drivers!
Russians are also more resilient when walking, sitting, or just standing there when cars plow into them. Their cars can get totaled, yet all they need is a helping hand to jump out of their seats, none the worse for wear. They’re slammed off motorcycles, yet bounce right off the pavement. Amazing!
I seen these already at http://russia.prochan.com/
Crazy stuff.
I lived long enough in the third world that road violence makes me sick.
Seriously – I had a little PTSD from it. I’m not kidding.
