  9. Charliej says:

If you are a birdwatcher, this is entertaining. Here, the birds are not afraid of humans at all. In an outdoor restaurant, I have had a bird land on the table, walk up close and watch to see if I would feed it. Birds are great fun to watch.

    • on the ferries the birds can be fed by hand…you hold up a cracker into the air and they will fly in one at a time and grab the crackers. It’s quite amusing. Unfortunately you accidentally get bit a lot although it’s not that they can break skin. Try it….usually works best on the aft.

      • McCullough says:

I bet the deck hands love it as well.

I’m from that area, and yes, it’s kinda true.

I’ve spend plenty of time looking at seagulls, especially on the ferry, where that was taken.

That reminded me of taking the ferry in the ‘nineties from Victoria to Port Angeles to visit my late friend Mark. (Mark Harris was a great Smalltalk programmer. But he got plenty old and eventually prostate cancer got him…)

Living by the water has a completely different pace to life compared to the hustle and bustle of NYC.
