We’ll see. I believe it will be the Repubs doubling down and digging their heels in even deeper. Therefore obstruction will be SOP. McConnell’s assessment backs this prediction by saying the president was given a pass to try again and the heros in the House were called on again to save America. I do contract work for a local power plant that is shutting down. There are 2 plants in the area, both coal fired, both scheduled for shutdown. 65% of the employees are from the local Navaho Reservation, an already impoverished people. I have heard of no plan as to how they will replace these generating plants, or where the power will come from. But I am certain energy costs will skyrocket for the customer, which is Arizona and Southern California. There seems to be no plan.
I will lose half of my income and the Navaho staff will have to go on assistance. These people want to work. Jobs gone, tax Revenues gone, and no plan. And why? What is the alternative, coal is dirty, nuclear is deadly, it’s too expensive to retrofit the plant to burn something else. So they will shut down. We were talking the other day and they were hoping if Romney got in, he might slow the process down. I don’t think so.
It’s just a local example, and we are just collateral damage. I will eventually move back to the Caribbean and start over, no problem…but the natives can’t just leave.

No surprise to me that Obama won. I knew the other party really didn’t want to win. Or they would have come up with someone better than Mitt Romney to oppose him. Like Ron Paul, for example. But they couldn’t bring themselves to hype anyone, who actually had a good plan for cleaning up the US government. They only wanted a dapper looking puppet. So they chose Romney. Because he was willing to go along with things. Even if he somehow managed to win. But I think all those carefully worded campaign speeches, at high dollar dinners, that got “caught” on someone’s cellphone camera, and “leaked” to the press. Probably helped keep him out of office. And him being Mormon, and there being a currently running Broadway musical spoof of that religion. Also was a neat way to reduce his odds of winning. Those Republicans don’t miss a trick, when they don’t want to win.
Now the Republican biased Congressional House can waste another four years, disagreeing with everything Obama wants to do. Pissing off the citizens to the point that they vote some of those idiots out of office, in two or four years time. And once the House tips back to Democratic control. Then they can put a Republican in the White House. So they can disagree with most of what that President wants to do. Continuing the saga of wasting the taxpayer’s time and money, with this petty and childish bipartisan game of hoodwink.
