Mitt Romney broke our deal…Perhaps he didn’t know he’d made it, although, really, I thought it was pretty clear.
He could do anything he wanted during this campaign as long as he sent out signals that once he got in the White House he was not likely to be truly crazy.
We, in return, were going to be able to continue with our normal sleeping patterns through the fall.
It didn’t seem to be a lot to ask, but when the crisis in the Middle East flared up, Romney turned out to have no restraining inner core. All the uneasy feelings you got when he went to London and dissed the Olympic organizers can now come into full bloom. Feel free to worry about anything. That he’d declare war on Malta. Lock himself in a nuclear missile silo and refuse to come out until there’s a tax cut. Hand the country over to space aliens.
Here is the Republican candidate for president of the United States on Wednesday, explaining why he broke into a moment of rising international tension and denounced the White House as “disgraceful” for a mild statement made by the American Embassy in Cairo about the importance of respecting other people’s religions:
“They clearly — they clearly sent mixed messages to the world. And — and the statement came from the administration — and the embassy is the administration — the statement that came from the administration was a — was a statement which is akin to apology and I think was a — a — a severe miscalculation.”
Feel free to reread this when you’re staring at the ceiling at 4 a.m…
The one big advantage to being a boring candidate is that you give the appearance of calm and stability. But, suddenly, Romney seemed to want to go for a piquant mélange of dull and hotheaded…When asked whether he was too quick on the attack, loyalists were supposed to say: “No. It is never too soon to stand up for American values and interests…”
Two months to go and we’re rethinking our presumption that the Republican primary voters picked the most stable option.
The Party-formerly-known-as-Republican continues to devolve.
Thank You NewFormatSux===you finally provided a link, and as one could only hope, its a good one that everyone should read about the proposed Obama tax on Millionaires:
http://nationalreview.com/articles/315871/obama-s-tax-increase-bait-and-switch-thomas-sowell#
So–the point you were called on was Obama calling those making $250K as the middle class. You instead provide a link calling those making $250K as millionaires. A different subject entirely. I assume you knew this as you posted the link, so Good on you.
I assume the tax imposed on those earning $250K and above is phased in a gradual manner? So the tax is meant to “hit” the millionaires but is phased in on those earning $250K. Is that your point Bunky?
Keep reading and linking. I think you will benefit from it.
We’ve all known that Obama was going to be Jimmy Carter’s second term, but he really did double down. At least under Carter, we only had one embassy attacked.
In a way it is impressive, Barry has managed to neuter the greatest nation that ever existed. Good job. God help the rest of us…
How Many Embassies/Consulates/Marine Barracks fer Christ’s Sake were attacked under RayGun and the Bushies?
Stupid Comment.
It’s obvious Romney has been doing electoral vote math. Break out the popcorn for the debates.
The only math Romney needs is Obama has doubled gas prices from below $2 a gallon to $4 a gallon in one term.
Do you want a second Obama term in which gas prices go to $8 a gallon or do you want a Romney term when gas prices go back to below $2 gallon?
Obama does not control gas prices.
Romney does not control gas prices.
Nice try.
Under my plan, electricity prices will necessarily skyrocket.
Energy Secretary Norman Chu has called for gas prices to rise to the level of Europe. That was before he was Bookered and walked it back.
Gas Price
January 21, 2008: $3.07
Today: $3.97
It was much lower before the Republicans took back congress. Obviously, correlations will bite you on the ass.
Republican Congress didn’t reject the Keystone pipeline. Republican Congress didn’t shut down oil drilling in the Gulf. Republican Congress didn’t lie about scientific recommendations to shut down oil drilling. Republican Congress didn’t slow down permitting of oil leases on federal lands. Republican Congress didn’t slow down permitting of off shore oil drilling.
The last stable price was in January, as the Keystone pipeline was being considered. Then it was rejected and the upward price continued.
The emphasis on global warming means that it is the desire of this President to have high gas prices, as revealed by his Energy Secretary and so many others. He would like to claim low prices to get through an election.
And the price increase has happened as inventories have been growing more than thought possible. Two years ago, projections were updated, but the Obama administration is determined to block supplies from coming on-line as it is not in line with the green religion.
Obviously NewformatSux doesn’t understand that the US is a net exporter of gasoline for the first time in 62 years. Or what XL will do to Midwest gas prices.

Eideard’s hope and change:
How many Americans ask the same questions that people in the Middle East are asking? How many Americans questioned the policies that brought us to where we are?
How many of you believe that the relationship between the United States and the world of Islam can and will improve?

The problem for Obama/Clinton is the people instigating the rioting want to restore the Caliphate and subjugate the human race to the will of Allah. In order to achieve this noble goal they are willing to die a martyr’s death and kill anybody that gets in their way and no amount of double babble out of the WH is going to impact their views or goals in any way shape form or fashion. It is completely irrelevant to them.
The mistakes that Obama and company made are helping to over throw secular minded dictators that were willing to work with us and putting into power a bunch of people who want to kill us. They didn’t learn bleep from Carters friendly support of democracy in Iran that gave us the present Iranian state.
Even though 9/11 was coming it and we has warnings nothing penetrated the sense of security the elites running our foreign policy felt which suggests they were totally oblivious to reality which is how we ended up with a bunch of dead bodies.
Obama/Clinton and their supporters can say anything they want. The warriors of Allah intend to fly the flag of a united Islam triumphant over the WH.
As for Romney, unless he actually gets elected, nothing he can say or can do is going to have any impact on these people at all. Any one standing around blaming him is merely demonstrating they utterly fail to understand the problem.
The only thing 99% of the verbiage coming out of the WH on this topic is make the WH and their supporters feel better about themselves. The people instigating the riots couldn’t possibly be less impressed.
Obama wants to restore the caliphate as well, as it was destroyed by colonialism.
Pres Obama believes that these riots are because of a video and have nothing to do with his policies.
By attacking Mitt Romney, he gets the press to ignore what he is doing, pressuring the videomaker to pull his video from YouTube.
No, he was suggesting that they review if there was any way that they could see that the video was in violation of his agreement and so Google could pull it down.
It wasn’t and it isn’t.
Its sucks as a video, which makes me wonder who’s making all of this fuss, and why, but it’s still up there, amidst all the millions of cute cat videos and the thousands of hours of face-plants embarrassments.
Look into whoever gave that drug-dealing coptic christian the money to make that suckable bomb.
Then look into who actually dug up this cinematic POS and fed it to some of the more impresionable arabs out there who make it go viral (which is just a question of getting the ball rolling.)
The fuckin’ stupid third world doesn’t realize that, unlike them and their cesspool countries, you don’t have to bribe everybody and their uncle in the various ministries before you can commit some cinematographic abortion to video and consign it to market oblivion.
Just look at Hulk Hogan movies, or more to the point you didn’t look at those, and they were wrought by geniuses in comparison.
Now I’m going to have to watch it? Nah… The piece of it that I saw on the evening news was enough to convince me that this was a turd in a punchbowl.
These Arabs are dream audiences for Edward Bernays and his fiction of Media Effects.
Rocky 3 was one of the best movies ever made.
Yea, and when that failed, the videomaker was arrested.
Now, why is he suggesting they review that? Why is the president trying to have videos removed from YouTube that doesn’t meet the sharia law requirements of other countries?
Why is the President letting foreign countries dictate the arrest of American citizens for making a video?
I’m sure liberals are happy John Ashcroft is no longer Attorney General.
I truly believe that the day I’m inaugurated…the whole world looks at America differently. If I’m reaching out to the Muslim world they understand that I’ve lived in a Muslim country…I understand their point of view….And that will ultimately make us safer.”
—Barack Obama, november 21, 2007
So it makes us safer for Muslims to believe that if they riot or kill an ambassador, they can get Americans to do what they want? That’s the impression they get from Obama’s actions.

“If you are a friend of the United States, you are on your own. If you are an enemy of the United States — let’s talk.”
Amb Susan Rice says the Libyan activity shows the security was working properly! Is it OK for Mitt to criticize yet?
NY Times + Eideard = Liberal loon fest. Both sources are about as fringe left as you can be.
But which is worse? If you look at his personal blog, you find that Eideard blames the Republican Governor of Florida because a former drug dealer committed Medicare fraud.
what an idiotic and Obama-centric cartoon
Thanks for expressing your ideas in this article. The other thing is that whenever a problem takes place with a laptop motherboard, individuals should not take the risk of repairing it themselves because if it is not done right it can lead to permanent damage to the full laptop. In most cases, it is safe just to approach your dealer of any laptop for that repair of its motherboard. They’ve technicians who may have an know-how in dealing with notebook motherboard issues and can have the right prognosis and carry out repairs.
