Stunning discovery! Clearly, people don’t like being at work. Who knew?
We may say we hate Mondays, but research suggests Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are equally loathed.
US investigators who looked at a poll of 340,000 people found moods were no worse on Mondays than other working days, bar Friday. People were happier as they approached the weekend, lending support for the concept of “that Friday feeling”.
i.e.: Most people just don’t like to work…
Explains a lot right now. Most people don’t mind being the “slaves”.
Does this really surprise anyone with a “real” life?
This hatred of work seems to be even more prevalent than ever. Just the other weekend there was a story on 60 Minutes where a highly qualified professional with an MBA was working as a lowly landscape worker blowing leaves. And he was darn happy to have the job too. But do you think he likes it?! (“Hellllloooo! McFly! Heeelllooooooo!”)
Personally, I’ve met many professionals working these lowly jobs. In fact, just the other day I met about 2 bar endorsed lawyers and an ex-fireman working at a Home Depot just to keep from having to live outdoors. Their unemployment ran out and “the bills didn’t seem to be going away,” one guy told me. Another one told me he was even on food stamps. And this is a State where jobs are supposedly plentiful and where the government says the economy is good. BULLSHIT!
It’s a sign of the times, a reflection of the economic indices. Nothing more.
Somebody wrote a song about that-

I liked Monday’s before I retired and I still like them. I didn’t actually want to retire but age was getting in my way.
