The Shard is the tallest building in Europe.

  1. deowll says:

The building is interesting. It appears to have a highly reenforced core and the shape would give it great stability. The look is okay.

Calling a building a broken fragment on the other hand doesn’t seem to me to be all that cool.

  2. Gasparrini says:

Sometimes the cloud cover is so low that you cannot see the top of the building. I looks cool at night with all the lights on.
The opening is tonight and there will be a laser show at 10 PM.

  3. Jambe says:

Ah yes, just what London (and the world, broadly) needs — another giant glass edifice poking out from conurbation’s center like a gaudy crystalline phallus. Indeed, the city is more beautiful for it, and its citizens will surely cherish the structure for generations to come. Nobody would disagree that an elongated reflective pyramid was exactly what was needed to round out an already-schizophrenic, haphazard Londinium skyline. Truly, it is world-class architecture for a world-class city. An icon for the ages.

    Good god.

The construction was neat to watch, at least.

  4. Glenn E. says:

London already had the glass gherkin. How much more does it have to look more like modern Berlin, than England? While they’re at it, why not tear down those drafty old castles, and build some more modern edifies for the Queen and Court? Oh, I forgot. Propping up an ancient monarchy, requires ancient buildings, as facades.

  5. kmfix says:

it’s like a shiny traffic cone.

  6. President Amabo (I see the comment system is still designed for retards.) says:

Modernization is good. Now if they could just tear down some of that old shit to make room for wider roads so they could have more 4×4’s and urban sprawl, they’d be figuring out human progress.

  7. Bodymassagemachie says:

    The artifacting! It burns!

  8. Buzz Mega says:

Forget all that crap about a production having a beginning, middle and and end.

Clearly, all you need is a beginning and a middle.
