From Politico:

President Obama, in Los Angeles for a fundraiser, offered this observation on his wife’s exercise routine, via the pool report:

“Michelle outdoes me in pushups as well,” he said, after saying that she’s taken some criticism on her technique “because she doesn’t go all the way down” – a line that he let hang, naughtily, provoking laughter from the crowd.

  1. NewformatSux says:

Some of the comments at that article:

He was trying to start a competition between Michelle and the media.

I don’t see the double entendre?

Obama sucks guys. Everyone knows it. Even at telling humor…
    — Did you leave out the comma on purpose?

  2. kiwini says:

    What he said…

    • NewformatSux says:

Real stand-up comedy from the President.

“The private sector is doing just fine.”

In 2008, Obama ran an ad saying How can McCain fix the economy if he doesn’t know it’s broken?

  3. NewformatSux says:

Another article has it as he said Ellen complained she doesn’t go all the way down. So the hang naughtily is just that Obama realized the unintentional joke, and tried to cover for it.

  4. sheila says:

There was a line in the Sopranos: “A Don doesn’t wear shorts.” And a President doesn’t make double-entendres to get a laugh. Is that the best he can do to get attention? Maybe after he loses the election, he can have a career in stand-up comedy. It seems to be a bigger aspiration he has. Def Comedy Jam, watch out!

It may be that the word standup is one word, no hyphen.

Stand up & clap for standup grammar Nazis.

  7. Dallas says:

    What a wonderfully amazing president.

On one side he’s an assassin ninja terrorist and pirate killer.

Next minute he’s a charismatic, down to earth funny guy you want to have over for a beer.

    • Guyver says:

On one side he’s an assassin ninja terrorist and pirate killer.

On the other side, he’s an epic failure on the economy, fostering job creation, etc.

Next minute he’s a charismatic, down to earth funny guy you want to have over for a beer.

Or the next minute he’s blaming someone else for his failures.

      • Dallas says:

        Oh poo :-(.
Is that what you’ve been told?

Well the numbers don’t lie. Once Obama’s policies came into effect, over 1 million jobs created. Not too shabby!
Also , he saved GM ( and the whole American auto industry) and shot Osama in the face!

Romney has millions stashed near the Bermuda Triangle to avoid paying taxes that often is used to feed white children.

        The record ix clear

        • NewformatSux says:

Actually, according to Obama, the stimulus was George Bush’s responsibility, so all jobs created from it are also Bush’s credit.

        • Mextli: ABO says:

He shouldn’t have any trouble getting a job soon maybe with the UAW he gave GM to.

      • jpfitz says:

        Romney’s foreign policy advisers are:

Dov Zakheim – (Israeli Dual Citizen)
Robert Kagan – (Israeli Dual Citizen)
Michael Chertoff – (Israeli Dual Citizen)
Eliot Cohen – (Israeli Dual Citizen)
Eric Edelman – (Israeli Dual Citizen)
John Lehman – (Israeli Dual Citizen)
Evan Feigenbaum – (Israeli Dual Citizen)
Aaron Friedberg – (Israeli Dual Citizen)
Kent Lucken – (Israeli Dual Citizen)
Kristen Silverberg – (Israeli Dual Citizen )

War can’t be far from reality with Romney as Commander.

Obama makes a off color joke, about his wife? Wow.

        • NewformatSux says:

Obama’s first fundraiser was at the home of a bomber, William Ayers. LA Times still won’t release the videotape of Obama attending a tribute to PLO spokesman Rashid Khalidi.

          • jpfitz says:

Small time bomber. Not like the web of war mongers itching to drop tons of bombs if Romney gets in. Big money in conventional war. Plus the nation building and all those contracts to feed and support the troops.

At the least Obama does it the old fashioned way, except the killings are public knowledge for the most part. I reiterate I’m no BO supporter.

          • Dallas says:

            So what.
President Cheney is photographed hugging Suddam Hussein and Bush W is photographed french kissing King Saud.

President Obama shot Bin Laden in the face.

        • jbenson2 says:

          Certainly not chump change…

High level of experience, erudition, and pragmatism across the list. Romney has won praise for a foreign policy group that is unusually large and uncommonly strong.

Dov Zakheim was under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) from 2001 to 2004. Zakheim served as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Planning and Resources (1985 to 1987).

Robert Kagan – Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution in the Center on United States and Europe; Board Member of the Foreign Policy Initiative

Chertoff is the former U.S. Attorney for New Jersey. He was United States Secretary of Homeland Security (2005-2009); and Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit (2003-2005).

Eliot Cohen, a professor of strategic studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, has been an important supporter of conservative-led foreign policy campaigns. Sometimes touted as “the most influential neocon in academe,”Cohen had multiple roles—including advising Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and serving on the Defense Policy Board during Donald Rumsfeld’s tenure as defense secretary—and was closely affiliated with the circle of hawks who surrounded Vice President Dick Cheney.

Eric Edelman was the former Under Secretary of Defense for Policy from 2005 to 2009. Edelman served as U.S. Ambassador to Turkey (2003 to 2005), U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Finland (1998 to 2001), and Principal Deputy Assistant to the Vice President for National Security Affairs (2001 to 2003).

John Lehman was National Security Advisory Counsel for the Center for Security Policy; Secretary of the Navy (1981-1987); Member of the 9/11 Commission

Evan Feigenbaum – Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia (2006-2009); Member for East Asia, Secretary of State’s Policy Planning Staff (2001-2006)

Aaron Friedberg – Deputy Assistant for National Security Affairs and Director of Policy Planning, Office of the Vice President (2003-2005)

Kent Lucken – President of the US-Asia Institute; Former U.S. Foreign Service Officer

Kristen Silverberg – Ambassador to the European Union (2008-2009); Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs (2005-2008)

        Ignorance is bliss…
The Constitution hasn’t changed…. the only branch of government that can tax and spend is the Congress of the United States. If you want JOBS then ask the Republicans to stop blocked every Jobs Bill and to do their job and sign the Presidents Jobs Plan.

        • NewformatSux says:

It’s Democrats that blocked it when Republicans tried to bring it up for a vote. They changed the Senate rules to keep their own party from having to vote on it.

  8. NewformatSux says:

This is a BS story. It was unintentional, and Obama did as well as he could with it.

    • NewformatSux says:

I predict the writer of the article will be fired. It is not an accurate quote, as Obama said Ellen said it. And there is no naughty hang.

  9. bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist and Jr Culture Critic says:

There is a professional fund raising comedy writer in LA who is laughing his tits off. If a member of a team, he will go unknown. If a single effort, rare but still done, he won’t get another assignment from Obama until whoever knows him goes into consulting himself.

Rather indecent to expect the ruler of the most powerful country in the history of the universe has to tell dirty jokes to get the money to run for office. Why doesn’t some Rich guy buy him like they have with Romney?

    Its not fair.

  10. Howard Beale says:

Zzzzzzz.z ..what ? oh ZZZzzzZzz…this story is not the least bit interesting I guess the press didn’t have anything shinny to go after.

Hey press quick look over there Travolta might be gay(duh) and over there one of the Kardashians wore a bad dress oh oh Romney almost forgot to put on a flag pin and Fox this ones for you a same-sex couple had ceremony on a U.S. Army post! So Shinny

    • hmeyers says:

Shhhhh. You are ruining the government sponsored news.

You should be talking about this story like Joe Sixpack who also enjoys American Idol, the Kardashians and such.

If they find out you consider this story a waste of your thought-space, they might send a government drone to investigate you.

You are not cooperating. You are not being a team player.

Media reporting on the President has no problem going all the way down. Yet to report on Obama’s membership in a 3rd party in his 30s about a decade before his run for President, while providing lots of coverage of Todd Palin’s membership in Alaska Independence Party.
