Sorry to hear this..may his legacy live on..
He will be missed.
sorry to here of it,his work is appreciated.
I am sorry for your loss, our loss. RIP hhopper.
We lost a good man today.
RIP Hop.
gonna miss him.
If there is an “afterworld” or what ever, hope Hopper has lots of feline friends and his sense of humor prevails!
Why is it that more and more of the obituaries I read are for people younger than myself? Maybe it is true that only the good die young!
I will miss his sense of humor. Hopefully I made this man smile on occasion with my crassness. I mean WTF, you all try being a nun.
If only the good die young, I know some people that should live in perpetuity.
Sorry to hear of your loss. His family and friends will be in my thoughts and prayers tonight.
Thanks, John. We’re all going to miss Hop. Talented, inventive, dedicated to family and friends.
The best kind of cranky geek.
Sincere condolences.
RIP Hop. My sincere condolences to the family.
I loved the postings from hhopper. I am sorry for the loss and I wish his friends and family all the best during this trying time. He will be missed is an understatement.
His sense of humor made my life better. RIP sir.
Another of the good ones leaves too soon.
RIP. Certainly will miss his posts.
He was my favorite editor, and he doesn’t afraid of anything.
I have a sad.
RIP H.H.
You are missed already.
So sorry to hear this. You can’t help but feeling somewhat connected to this person via his blog posts. Condolences.
I’m sorry for (y)our loss.
Rest In Peace..
Sorry to hear this. Rest in Peace.
I am deeply moved by all of the comments that have been posted about my husband. Harrison loved the blog and also loved the computer. The last time he held his computer he just starred at the blank screen. His mind was unable to compute…….. He lost all of his ability to use his iPad, his Kiindle and the most important tool in his life the computer…. It was so sad to see this happen.
I’ve known Harrison for 50 years, married to him for almost 44 years, I will miss him terribly. I do know that he will be with me in spirit and love . I want to thank all of his “Cranky GeeK” online friends, he loved you all…. in fact the minute he would sit in his chair he would say ” I’ve got messages to read and reply to ” before he would do anything else.
Thanks John for the tribute to Harrison (Hop) I love you guys!
Mary Jane (MJ)
your welcome and John is fortunate to have many great people support him,his spirit lives within all of us.
MJ, I am saddened by your loss. You have my sincerest sympathy. Hopper will be remembered fondly, as all have attested to here.
The Clearwater High School class of 1962 now has a website and I am the administrator. We are sorry for your loss. If you would like to log on and register under his name, you could upload pictures and classmates would have a place to share memories.
I’ve noticed that this site has changed in the last few months, perhaps 6 months. The number of articles has dropped significantly. Is this why? Harrison got sick and was not able to contribute like he did in the past.
I realize Harrison is likely still above ground, ash free; but in time perhaps a competition for new contributors would be in line; before the site dies with him.
Truly RIP Harrison
Hey you guys…as I am searching my Dad’s laptop for pictures to display at his “Celebration of Life” service, I can’t miss “DU” wherever I look on this laptop!
Anyway, to answer WiseGuy’s question…Harrison started to feel bad about 3 months ago…he was in pain, however, the pain was causing him to not be able to sleep…so at that point he was actually posting MORE because he would be up all night with laptop open and burnin’ the midnight oil too! It was during the past month or so when he really started pulling away from all material, “worldly” things…and then the past 4 weeks when he just couldn’t think straight and we realized that he would probably never be using his laptop again…
He used to run many of the funny pictures, stories and videos past me before submitting them…and the latest one that he showed me was just a few months ago…it was a little girl who was holding a DEAD squirrel like a baby…swinging it over her shoulder…saying “SQUAIL MOMMY!!”…when really, any OTHER little girl would be saying “Oh poor squirrel…but ewwww to even touching it with a STICK!” I think he may have entitled it “A serial killer in the making”???
:o)
Cristina
He’ll be missed.
“Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed, that is.”
RIP Harrison..
You will be missed.
Hope to see you again sometime Harrison.
Sorry to hear this. I wish his friends and family the best.
R.I.P. MR. Hopper.
Condolences to hhopper family and friends.
I’ve have never had the honor of meeting Mr. Hooper. I just knew him through his posts.
The blog and the world will be a little dimmer, but the heavens has a new star.
Rest in Peace Harrison, you will be missed!
Sorry dude. Loosing a friend is always a bummer.
Sad news. My best wishes to the family. I have enjoyed his contributions to dvorak.org for years.
Blessings and thanks
