Despite what’s happening in Iowa is pretty much meaningless in the grand scheme of things, if you lived in Iowa, were a Republican and could stomach one of the listed candidates or one of the write-ins, which one of da playas would you vote for?
There have been five times in America’s history when Iowa Republicans descended upon the grounds of their flagship university to gorge themselves on sticks of fried food, snap photos with some of America’s most famous politicians and, oh yeah, vote for who they want to be the next president of the United States.
GOP hopefuls, or more accurately Iowa hopefuls, have been dolling out campaign swag, snacks, sweets and speeches to Iowa voters in the hopes of persuading them to cast a ballot in their favor in Saturday’s Ames Straw Poll. But this vote, in every legal sense of the word, is meaningless.
It does not count toward the Iowa caucus nor does it play in the general election. In fact, historically it has had little correlation with who will be a successful candidate.
Of the five straw poll winners in history, three have gone on to win the Iowa caucus, two managed to secure the Republican nomination and only one has ever made it to the White House. Statistically speaking, a highly coveted win in Ames gives a candidate about a 20 percent chance of even getting on the ballot in the general election.

Huntsman. Mostly unknown but he has traveled, speaks a foreign language, always looks out of place. The one most likely to be a moderate Puke. He did raise his hand though when the group was asked if they would reject a debt reduction plan that raised taxes in a 10 to 1 ratio.
When you are in a mob, its best to run their direction. I don’t hold that against him now but certainly would later.
Has everyone seen the Daily Show Parallel graph of the debt ceiling legislation? Under all plans mentioned our National Debt continues to grow outrageously.

I have to laugh at all the Obama haters, because if there IS one thing that Obama is, it’s a Bush (II) lite. We should already be out of Afghanistan. We should already have our foot ready to step out and leave Iraq. The passed health care plan? Just a retread of the Republican plan that they submitted back in the ’90s, and it’s a piece of crap plan to start with. Economically, we’re going along with the same plan that’s been in existence since 2001 or thereabouts. He even extended the Bush tax credits. The only non-Republican thing he has done was to get rid of DADT. Obama may serve (some) different masters, but the results are the same, and will continue to be the same, no matter who sits in the Whitehouse.
#15–byte==excellent recognition. Its why the Puke base will nominate Perry in a landslide: he’s even dumber and more religious than Bush–ie one step away/deeper than BushtheRetard, TWO steps away/deeper than Spineless Obama.
Course–everyone else will vote against Perry giving Obama the mandate. Will Obama reform in the second term?
Character and lack thereof will trump all. So I doubt it. Don’t see who is up next in 2016==probably some new guy.

He really didn’t get rid of DADT, all he did was authorize a study to think about it. Which is typical Obama (do something, without doing anything) it was a court ruling DADT was unconstitutional that actually took it down.
My only question is, why did it take a court so long to rule, DADT goes back to Clinton.

1) Yep. There is a chance for an economic turnaround to get Obama reelected. His administration is losing in court causing many of his job killing initiatives to get thrown out. ObamaCare was ruled unconstitutional by the 11th circuit, at least the individual mandate portion. So at this point an appeals court has supported a majority of states against the job killing Obamacare. Now a federal judge has thrown out Obama rules restricting oil drilling.

Yes, there is a chance the economy will turn around allowing Obama to get re elected. In context, I think a million times more chance Obama will get elected because the Puke will nominate anyone running against him right now.
Elections are a comparison vote==more against the worst candidate than one FOR the other.
Hope and change elections are rare and are about positive votes for someone. The standard is to keep the worst out of office.
