Al Gore highlights by aspenjournalism

  1. Derek says:

Of course he would. He’s like Al Sharpton. Except instead of racism, he must find global warming everywhere so that he can continue living better than those that worship him. Question, do you think Al Gore would give a damn if there was no money to be made? That would be a resounding no.

  2. TacoTrainwreck says:

I don’t doubt that human pollution has some influence in regards to climate change, but with this dingus exploiting the situation just to make a ridiculous amount of money significantly undermines the valid research that is there. It’s no wonder environmentally-sound technology is a tough sell to people who grew out of velcro and sippy cups. What a douche.

  3. jbenson2 says:

Looks like some inconvenient truths are getting under Gore’s thin skin.

  4. JohnnyBGoode says:

I know context is important and all, but 24 minutes? I have American Idol to catch up on, can’t listen to 24 minutes of Al Gore!

BTW, Al Gore is a sweaty, OCD douchebag. Adios, mofo!

  5. EnemyOfTheState says:

Former VP … My primary concern is if Tipper’s tits are still perky.

  6. Dallas says:

I propose we use the term global warming during the summer and climate change during the winter.

It’s VERY hot here in Dallas and ‘climate change’ just doesn’t ring with the yahoos outside the blue dot civilized areas or Dallas, Austin and Houston.

  7. bobbo, are we Men of Science, or Devo? says:

Heh, heh. Yes, Algore is arguing for a return to Age of Enlightenment dynamics rather than the Dark Ages of Religion and Dogma we have devolved into now.

Algore is a self seeking corrupt dilettante, but everything I heard him say in this rant is mostly correct.

Sucks to be in decline. There are reasons for it.

    Ha, ha.

  8. Drive By Poster says:

“How DARE the Blaspheming Infidels proclaim our One True Religion to be a falshood! They Must BURNNNNN!!!!!!”

    :p

Man made global warming is a religion, complete with treating naysayers as blasphemers, ignoring or mindlessly attacking all evidence that contradicts their belief system, and selling Indulgences (aka, carbon credits) of which Al Gore gets a piece of the action via the carbon credit trading company he partly owns.

Global Warming advocates have a lot in common with muslims, who proclaim their religion is a religion of peace, and if you say otherwise they’ll cut your fucking head off. No joke, there are global warming activists with college degrees literally calling for “nay sayers” to have “denier” (or some such term) tattooed on their foreheads, not to mention have all their scientific certifications and degrees revoked on top of being fired forever.

  9. Lou says:

I don’t have 24 min to waste on Al Gore.

  10. WhamaLamma says:

    Bullshit on Gore.

  11. Faxon says:

That is 20 minutes of my life I did not waste. No thanks for this boring post. We all already KNOW this guy’s position on Earth Weather. Fuck him and the horse he rode in on.

  12. Buzz Mega says:

I am a Republican. What I feel is what I know.

Global Warming is not the Jesus way to look at things. Neither is Evolution.

The Rich deserve to keep every penny they make. And will then go on to support mansion contractors, maids, gardeners—all the people who drive the economy.

Jesus saves. But interest rates are low, so that’s only one part of his portfolio.

This has been a RAM.* Named after our uni-lock voting strategy.

    * Republican Advisory Moment.

  13. spsffan says:

Now, I happen to believe that climate change due to human activity, specifically due to release of carbon dioxide from burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, is real.

But, I also believe that if Al Gore would shut his pie hole, that one of the world’s largest sources of hot air would be extinguished.

If we would get Donald Trump, Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann to join in, we could all enjoy a nice personal coal fired power plant and still be to the good!

  14. Animby says:

I’ve made my feelings re climate change well-known on this blog. So for now, I’ll just add: Algore is a miserable speaker. So hard to listen to as he weaves complicated sentences seemingly designed to be obfuscatory and then stammers his way through them.

  15. bobbo, Constitution must be read in light of the Supreme Court Cases that flesh it out says:

Animby–what are your feelings regarding climate change? Have you always just posted your feelings, or have you posted what you think as well?

For extra credit: why do crystal meth users have scabs all over their faces in their arrest photos? Does meth addiction make your skin itch or do they always resist arrest causing these injuries? What are your feelings on this?

((I follow you probably as close as anyone does and what I recall is you have a very ambiguous generally negative attitude about it. Hey—you are right==all feelings. But I do recall several posting where you claim to have an ego. Maybe those issues are related?))

Yes, every swinging dick has an ego.

  16. Skeptic says:

Gore is absolutely full of bullshit and he’s a hypocrite. The entire time he is complaining about attaining critical mass through democracy, and what he’s after is to promote his one single agenda while trying to establish a public platform to discredit all other opinions. I would like him to publish and read in public, his “long list” of NAMES he accuses are paid shills trying to unhinge his dogma. Then I would like to see him face the lawsuits for libel and slander.

  17. bobbo, Constitution must be read in light of the Supreme Court Cases that flesh it out says:

Skeptic–Algore says we need to move off carbon based energy. Is he wrong about that?

  18. Skeptic says:

Bobbo, I don’t think there’s a sane person alive that doesn’t think we should be weaning ourselves off crude oil for energy. That original idea is not Al’s.

  19. Floyd says:

    Let’s see what’s happened:

Hotter and drier climates in summer, more CO2 found in the air, NOAA now has weather information actually based on what’s going on in the atmosphere….

I’m not sure if the intense tornadoes (Alabama and Joplin come to mind) in the last few years are from climate change, but I’m just thinking they might be.

  20. str0be says:

I don’t quite understand all the Gore hating going on. Don’t blame him for pointing out how shitty things are getting just because you don’t find him personally appealing. His lack of charisma is beside the point.

Science is about making predictable claims and testing those predictions. So far the evidence in support of human influenced climate change far outweighs the counter evidence, and predictions about the consequences are routinely being validated. Oh, and you republican free market folks aught to be over the moon that ways are being developed to monetize the solutions to climate change. Who cares if Gore stands to profit. Its his world too, and he’s allowed to invest in whatever the hell he wants. Geez.

  21. Guyver says:

New NASA Data Blow Gaping Hole In Global Warming Alarmism: http://tinyurl.com/455s55h

“The satellite observations suggest there is much more energy lost to space during and after warming than the climate models show”

  22. Guyver says:

    6, Dallas,

I propose we use the term global warming during the summer and climate change during the winter.

It’s VERY hot here in Dallas and ‘climate change’ just doesn’t ring with the yahoos outside the blue dot civilized areas or Dallas, Austin and Houston.

The Midwest (specifically the St. Louis area) is experiencing some unusually cool nights this week (~ 60s). Hard to talk about global warming when your nights are unusually cool for August.

  23. Guyver says:

    17, Bobbo,

Skeptic–Algore says we need to move off carbon based energy. Is he wrong about that?

In the spirit of your altruistic questioning and what well-intentioned “green” laws do:

  24. What? says:

    >17, Bobbo,
    >
    >Skeptic–Algore says we need to move off carbon based energy. Is he wrong about that?

You mean, of course, we have to stop eating carbon-based food too???

    Strobe,

the science is not in. It would take 10000-20000 years of future data to validate today’s models, because of the cyclic nature of the global climate. 1-5 years of data is NOISE.

You know nothing about the design and analysis of experiments.

  25. bobbo, the evangelical anti-theist says:

#18–Skeptic==well, I just don’t understand your point about Algore then. You say he is ABSOLUTELY WRONG about everything he says and then say anyone would be insane to disagree with him. I certainly don’t think “I” am insane. Are you speaking of yourself as everyone then? Kinda grandiose don’t you think? In that ABSOLUTE way that has corrupted our language? ABSOLUTE: as in without exception? Just words.

  26. bobbo, the evangelical anti-theist says:

#23–Guyver===Arggggh!!! I fell for it–you Rick Rolled me. Rand Paul equating a womans right to choose with his desire to flush his toilet? Ha, ha. I flush your reality down the toilet and observe my own shit. It is interesting that when a womans right to choose to have 15 kiddies is restricted it will be for the same reason toilet water is restricted now==too many people on Blue Marble Earth necessarily restricts us all. You understand what necessarily means don’t you McGuyer? Its like saying ABSOLUTELY. Things fit and don’t fit when using that label, when finding the reality that controls/limits our one man is an island mentality.

    Yea, verily.

  27. bobbo, the evangelical anti-theist says:

#24–What==you are being too clever by .001 %. Yes, when you burn carbon based food for energy to run automobiles or heat a house, that needs to be moved away from==much more providing ethanol subsidies for the same activities. Silly to equate carbon use as human food with carbon use in industrial uses.

To you always use your brain as a door stop? I assume not, but so many do that too much of the time. Right now, I’d assume you still have options? Use your time well.

  28. Skeptic says:

Bobbo, I said that Al Gore is full of bullshit. I didn’t say everything he said was wrong. He keeps his BS dispenser topped up and dispenses it intermittently mixed in with superlative facts that everyone can relate to. A little shit here, a little shit there… whose gonna notice upwind or from a distance? It’s how the rich get richer.

  29. Skeptic says:

… also my use of the word “absolutely” was used grammatically as an intensive, and not literal.

  30. deowll says:

NASA put up a satellite to confirm or refute the idea on which significant climate change due to the tiny fraction increase in CO2 in the atmosphere. The idea requires the tiny increase in temperature due to CO2 to cause a lot of water vapor at altitude and for the water vapor to be preventing infrared heat from escaping because the trivial percentage of the atmosphere which is CO2 isn’t going to do much by itself.

NASA recently published. The answer was blunt. The infrared is escaping back into space at much higher levels than the doomsday crowd predicted and the H2O is _not_ making it into the upper atmosphere as their modals require.

    That much science is in.
