Ha!

  1. bobbo, the pragmatic libertarian Existentialist says:

You tagged this under humor? Now, even I can get it.

“I swear to God, I thought Turkeys could fly.”

One of the best lines ever.

[Mr. Carlson, WKRP – 1977 -ed.]

  2. Floyd says:

Fahrvernugen of course, by Les Nessman:
“As God is my witness, I thought that turkeys could Fly!”

    Funniest TV show Ever!

  3. bobbo, the pragmatic libertarian Existentialist says:

Yes–and turkey DO fly==right up on my roof every night. Its factory raised turkeys that can’t fly as their wings are clipped.

Nes made an honest mistake. Sad what Fate handed out to him.

  4. dcphill says:

With no means of propulsion it must have been dropped from a bomber. The beetle looked like a lift body that could sail through the air, but there was no means of controlling it.
Looks like a load of fecal matter to me.

  5. GregAllen says:

The tone is so spot-on perfect, it had me going for about half of it.

Not funny, really, but still cool.

  6. Rob Leather says:

Outstanding! I loved that. I almost want to believe it 🙂

    Rob

  7. Brian says:

Brilliant! I love how they reshaped the flying objects in the video. Not sure what the editing technical term. As a WWII buff I saw all of this footage previously, and I can assure you there are no flying Beetles… The interview with the Vet was about Messerschmitt 163 flying rocket. One of the footage was of a prop fighter jet hitting a bomber, and the last footage was of dam buster bomb bouncing on test in England.

  8. deowll says:

Actually the VW Thing was used by the military. Might not be as good as a jeep but they were cool.

  9. Orion314 says:

What a seriously stupid ass waste of 3 mins of my time. anyone who thinks that horseshit is funny is in need of some very strong prescriptive medication.

  10. George says:

I get where they were trying to go with this, but the Germans, being very precise in their nomenclature would not have called something like this a “Volkswaffe” which means something like the Peoples’ Arms (or Peoples’ Weapon).

It probably would have been called the “Flugwagen”, literally “flying car”.

  11. McCullough says:

#9. I’m game. What would you suggest?

  12. Orion314 says:

    #11 for you , Thiothixene

  13. RSweeney says:

    Who are these people?

I want this team working on MY cable TV epic series… Hydraulic Pumps of the Third Reich.

They have what it takes to create hours and hours, if not years, of typical quality History Channel programming.

  14. M. Sami says:

    Hello friends.

I am from Turkey. I am a writer. I am working on Hitler. I have been writing a new book. It’s name <> When I was researching some documents and strange things, I found this video. I couldn’t believe it. But I have some doubt. My brain confused. Is “Volkswaffe” true ?

Please help me. Thanks for help from now.
