The first 15 minutes is a monologue after that its actually good.
The joke at 7:28 is also damn good.
If you are short on time start at 16:20 – the message is powerful and well delivered.
Good delivery and amusing, but my god, how much of a drone is his voice?
I was in the general audience at my wife’s graduation this May and it was not as much fun, (Conan O’Brien is a professional comedian,) but it was just as enlightening.
Commencement speakers have an advantage, they have lived and are there to report on the path they have walked since graduating, (or almost graduating.)
If they don’t choke, they can deliver some inspiring messages.
But its funny when they choke.
I have heard some people who will gladly admit that public speaking scares the crap out of them. But they gamely went up there and did what they had to do.
