  1. bobbo, Republicans are out to Destroy Unions and the Working Man says:

YOU KNOW: I am happy Osama is dead. I don’t HATE Osama though. Silly “word equations” hide so much more than they reveal. Hate does consume the hater. Indeed, there is no reason to “rejoice” in the death of one or many but happy is not the same as rejoicing and rejoice is not the opposite of hate. Our enemies need to know they will be hunted down and killed. Its the only way our preachers, safely in their churches, can remind us of our need for humanity.

Now, if we can just pay attention to the amount of money these adventures cost and recognize the limitations of military intervention.

    Yea, verily.

  2. Warp says:

Are you sure MLK really said that? I’m pretty sure it’s a bogus quote. What’s your source? I can’t seem to find any record of that quote before May 2, 2011.

  3. Canadian_guy says:

Bin laden – no independent verification of his death…buried at sea immediately…fishy very fishy…

Barak can bring the boys home…OBAMA 2012!

I’ll believe it when they show the video and it’s given the thumbs up by forensic experts.

  4. GaryInMiami says:

The first part of that so-called quote seems to be bogus, but you know…if enough people post about it then it must be true.

Dunno if a link will work here but this is from The Atlantic.

  5. daniel says:

I think its just partially misquoted. Here is a reference I have found in several places. I do not have the actual book so I cannot confirm this is the accurate quote but it is definitely sourced.

“The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. So it goes. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

Piss poor site management to change/amend postings without comment. Nothing wrong with changes======just be transparent about it.

JCD–if “I” were you, I would be proud of this blog. It is about as uncensored as there is and as appropriate. You should also be proud to show corrections/concerns about authenticity you have. TRANSPARENCY make the whole process even better. More trustworthy. Even admirable.

As to the quote at #5–its dogma. SOMETIMES violence is the only appropriate response. Sometimes, violence prevents further violence. These value statements must always be seen as touchstones to moral behavior===NOT DOGMA. Good ideas taken too far become dogma. Never a good thing.

  7. ggore says:

Y’know, I think Bin Laden might have actually been Hitler. We have absolutely no confirmation that Hitler actually died. No body was ever recovered. Nor for Eva Braun. How do we know they died? Or did not die? Hitler could have recovered, hidden away somewhere being healed and given new identities by aliens and supported by all the vast world-wide one-rule secret governments that actually run our daily lives, only to live 60 years and terrorize the world as Bin Laden. I’m sure Adam Curry will be espousing this theory on this week’s episode of No Agenda. I don’t know because I stopped listening to his loonytunes conspiracy theory-laden show long ago.

If you think my possible scenario is preposterous, it is no less crazy than some of the birther theories we were hearing from Trump and others the past few years. Sometimes we just have to take the word of our government for granted that something they say happened actually HAPPENED, and go on! To speculate with wild theories does no good at all.

The real story in all this is how, at the very same time all the ranting and raving that Trump, Beck, Hannity, O’Reilly, Limbaugh, and all the other ratpack crazies was going on, our President was commanding this flawless operation that got this evil pile of crap removed from this earth. He was actually DOING something to help us, and for that, I praise him.

  8. The DON says:

Where has the “OFF COLOR BIN LADEN” video post gone?

    It was hilarious.

  9. Lou Minatti says:

The photo is fake. The DoD better get the photos/videos out there quick before we get 10,000 crappy “deather” videos on YouTube and Alex Jones starts foaming.

  10. slicksan says:

I’m in no way a sympathiser with terrorist but I like to look at two sides of any coin: To the extremist muslim world this has all been about them fighting evil in the name of what they believe in. We see what they do as disturbing but their method base are all pretty archaic. Beheading, kidnapping, rape, murder were used by all cultures for centuries as tools for destroying your enemies because you have no respect for them.

The sin full lifestyle of the modern world goes against what their holy books teach and the radical laws they enforce go against what our modern laws teach.

Now if you believe in God then you know that he destroyed many people for living lifestyles that the western world accepts as the norm and if you don’t believe in God then I believe war is justifiable.

My point is that on both sides we call the enemy evil, however how do we define evil? By our own beliefs and doctrines and we all believe that we are correct in our chain of thought.

To the US, you have killed a demon but to Al Queda a great leader has died.

Wars of this nature are difficult to end and last for a very long time. The people who loose out are not the leaders and policy makers but the soldiers and civilians that are sacrificed for “the cause”.

  11. Nitroneo says:

Looks more like blunt force trauma than a firearm wound.

Could also have a bit of freezer burn there as well.

Bah, can’t be a real pic

  12. Charlie says:

Apparently this wasn’t the only fabrication.

“Osama Bin Laden was not armed and his wife was not killed or used as a human shield, it emerges as US officials “clarify” early accounts of the commando raid.”

You’d think that they could at least get the stories straight.. it’s almost as is they trying to create a conspiracist’s wet dream.

  13. Olo Baggins of Bywater says:

Osama bin Laden, world’s hide and seek champion–2001-2011

  14. Olo Baggins of Bywater says:

I also wonder about the “high-caliber” bullet. What does that mean exactly?

My memory of Clancy novels tells me that they would have small-caliber rounds. Maybe someone with actual military experience can better guess what weapons were likely used, and if such weapons would blow off a chunk of head. After all, Gabby Giffords took a 9mm through and through and is still, presumably, in one piece.

  15. dadeo says:

Yeah, blunt force from a photoshop clone brush

  16. Dallas says:

Get rid of this picture already !

How about more of Trump before he disappears off the scene like Glenn Beck?

Trump is still fresh blogging but like a rotting banana, you need to act soon!

  17. GigG says:

Olo Baggins, is correct It would have been 9mm or 5.56. With an outside chance of .45. Some special ops folks carry custom .45.

  18. Thomassabo says:

It’s not means the terrorist attacks stop.I think.Americans will may be more attacks by terrorist ,special who oversea .

  19. chuck says:

He’s not dead. He’s just resting.
    He’s pining for the fjords.

  20. Ruger LCR says:

Osama’s death certificate is not being released.
    Annnnd, we’re off!

  21. GregAllen says:

OFF TOPIC BUT YOU ARE THE GUYS TO ASK:

In other stories, it says that the Seals grabbed Osama’s computers.

How hard are these to crack, assuming he used the recommended protocols for PGP encrypted files on a Truecyrpt volume? (or similar “consumer” tools)

I think the best strategy is to keep your encrypting keys off-premise and that would be cumbersome but not impossible for him to do. He could have an associate keep them on a thumb drive at another location. Let’s say he did that and the thumb drive is now destroyed.

How hard is it going to be for the government to crack those computers?

  22. Olo Baggins of Bywater says:

Greg…my contribution is a bit of dated knowledge of the FBI’s IT forensics systems. They can throw a ton of horsepower at a brute-force password attempt. They do it all the time for kiddie porn peddlers.

My guess is OBL thought he was safe and didn’t employ overly-cumbersome encryption…we’ll get into his stuff quickly IMO. The other side of this is some terrorism experts saying OBL wasn’t a day-to-day leader anymore, just a figurehead. I guess we’ll find out.

  23. blaspheminCapn says:

    Looks ‘Kinda’ Shopped…

I can tell by the pixels…

  24. bobbo, Republicans lie about everything all the time says:

Wouldn’t the code be in Arabic? That starts off already being encrypted. I don’t think even Google Translator could be brutish enough there.

  25. Mr. Fusion says:

As may be seen by all the nuts out there; those with the 9/11 conspiracies, the birthers, UFOs, even the Elvis is living in a trailer park somewhere conspiracies, there is no end to gullibility. As easy as it is to create a photo with various photo editors, this was bound to happen.

The American government has not confirmed where Obama’s body is. When “unidentified sources” start telling us what happened to the body, it remains unconfirmed. So far, the official response is there will be information released later. For all I know he may very well have been buried at sea. Or not.

  26. nicktherat says:

strange, isnt it against the law to assassinate people? and whats the deal with one of the two helicopters crashing.

  27. Gary, the dangerous infidel says:

I predict that NSA cryptologists will dedicate an enormous amount of their computing power to quickly unlock the secrets on bin Laden’s computer. They’ll be disappointed to find that he hasn’t used even booted it since that fateful day when Windows XP blue-screened because of a bad video driver and Osama couldn’t understand the support technician from New Delhi who tried to help him. It was during that tech support call that bin Laden let key intelligence slip, which eventually led to the raid on his compound.

The Blue Screen of Death takes on new meaning!

  28. Obama : The Stool Softener Years says:

He.tried to take down America. If America falls the entire universe serves no purpose therefore its obvious he was suicidal anyway. Good riddance and don’t forget to flush.

  29. soundwash says:

    textbook psyop bs..

funny.. they didnt find any dialysis machines on premises..

ah well.. like Goebbels used to say..(paraphrased) when you make up a lie, make it so huge that no one could even conceive it’s lie.

    -s

Somewhere.. P.T. Barnum is laughing his arse off..

  30. GregAllen says:

    Olo Baggins,

The fact that he was in Abbottabad make it perfectly possible that he was in close communication with other al Qaeda members. It would have been very easy for him to send messages through one of the many internet cafes in Rawalpindi.

As for him taking security measure — I’m assuming he took extreme precautions. How else could he have alluded the Americans for ten years?

    Bobbo,

Since the homophobes fired all the Arabic translators, maybe writing in Arabic would have been code enough! 😉
