I’m sure someone will point out that the teen was eventually found guilty. But that doesn’t change the fact that the police were beating a kid who was not fighting back.

  1. DavidtheDuke says:

They weren’t going to hardly prosecute at all until the video tape became public.

  2. What? says:

It has been predicted that when the GIs return home, who tortured people during their overseas duty, and those GIs filter into the local police force, we the people will be the next victims of torture.

  3. The_Tick says:

@ #2, Will be? Lol When I was younger the cops called it dry submarining not waterboarding. It’s so cute the amount of people who think the pigs are or ever have been a decent group of people.

  4. deowll says:

The men throwing licks and stomping should have been charged with assault and battery.

  5. 1873 Colt says:

Well, I don’t have to worry since I am not a burglar.

  6. SN says:

    5. “Well, I don’t have to worry since I am not a burglar.

Then let’s hope the police never suspect your are. Because at the time of the beating, the kid wasn’t a convicted burglar either.

  7. What? says:

As http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_prison_experiment showed, power corrupts everyone.

Police shouldn’t be exempt from standards of behavior that apply to society.

Why aren’t police trained to use their brains rather than their clubs? If the officers are too dumb to do the job, fire them and find people who have some brains.

  8. Rufus Redneck says:

This is called “street justice” and occurs primarily due to huge shots of adrenaline, produced by almost getting killed multiple times, trying to catch some scumbag asshole who doesn’t care who he or she kills.

Save your sympathy for yourselves or for your family members, if any of you ever happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Fuck this “teen”. He got what he asked for and what was coming to him, you liberal pussies!

  9. What? says:

1873, it is likely that the police, should they suspect you of something, will shoot you rather that club you – as I presume you are obviously armed (and by you attitude, you wish to appear dangerous).

  10. brm says:

Cue the assholes claiming the beating was an appropriate response to being suspected of burglary.

    oh wait.

  11. chuck says:

    “Quanell X” – community activist.

    Ha!!

  12. madtruckman says:

…bet he wont do that again…

  13. Axl says:

    Irresponsible??? Disgusting!

  14. WTF says:

First off, “Quanell X” needs to get his own last name and his own inflections. Stop watching Malcom X on Netflix before you do an interview. Secondly, though at first glance this beating seems uncalled for. I wasn’t there so I don’t know. Could this be another case of Rodney King? You know, when the media showed the beating but left out the guy out of his mind endangering the public and resisting arrest. Be thankful that you can run home safety and fire off judgmental opinions from your computer, not from the street. Media can’t always be trusted.

  15. notatall says:

    #8 “Save your sympathy…”

No sympathy here for anyone in that video. What I have is a lot of apathy for the cowards in that video. Could care less if they get picked off on the side of a freeway by a tractor-trailer during a traffic stop. If we lived in a casteless society, those cowards would be on trial for assault. As for the suspected burglar, if he was breaking into someone’s house, it’s too bad the owner didn’t shoot him on his way in.

  16. Improbus says:

Business as usual for the police. I wont shed any tears when cops start getting some “street justice” handed back to them. Guns and bullets are cheap … and tools to “modify” them are affordable.

  17. Pwuk says:

I used to have a badge “help the police! Best yourself up”

  18. jobs says:

#16 it’s scumbags like you that are in this video. Both the out of control cops and the scumbag thief. They all should do some jail time. And you should get a clue.

  19. ECA says:

Each officer, should be HELD DOWN, and 4 citizens allowed to BEAT THEM for 30 seconds..

  20. Improbus says:

    @jobs

Excuse me, what the frak are you talking about? I was just pointing out the obvious and the fact that I don’t much care for law enforcement personnel. Never met one that wasn’t a prick. The higher up the food chain the bigger the prick.

  21. jobs says:

#20 But shooting people you don’t much care for is no more right then the guys in the video kicking someone they don’t care for.

  22. Rufus Redneck says:

    #21 jobs

You’re trying to apply logic to senseless violence.

    Good luck with that one!

    THIS IS THE UNITED STATES!

    😀

  23. KMFIX says:

Those police officers should all be fired.

  24. Improbus says:

    @jobs

I didn’t say I advocated it but I would UNDERSTAND it. Have you noticed that police are above the law? Even if you have forensic and video evidence it hard to get one fired or sent to prison. If that doesn’t change people are going start getting their own justice. The law must be applied equally or it isn’t worth spit.

  25. Cap'nKangaroo says:

According to the article I read at CBSnews, this video was from a surveillance camera and when it reached the proper authorities, the officers involved were suspended/fired and are now coming to court for a misdemeanor charge (up to a year in jail).

The big uproar is that this “Qaunell X” released the video when the Mayor of Houston and the Judge who will be hearing the officers’ cases ordered it withheld from the media until trail. The feeling was it would be prejudicial to the officers receiving a fair trial if widely seen before jury selection.

  26. noname says:

    # 9 What?

Attitude? What Attitude did # 5 1873, this American citizen display?

I think you have to be pinko commie to infer attitude!

    # 8 Rufus Redneck, Stalin and others believed in street Justice.

Most Americans (particularly those who fought in war to defend American justice) don’t care this justice, but; instead call it a crime!!!

  27. Ironhide1975 says:

As a son of a retired cop I even agree the force shown by the police was excessive. Back in his day though they would of just shot the kids.

Cops should be fired. Kid should be thrown in prison. Just that simple.

  28. notatall says:

“The big uproar is that this “Qaunell X” released the video when the Mayor of Houston and the Judge who will be hearing the officers’ cases ordered it withheld from the media until trail. The feeling was it would be prejudicial to the officers receiving a fair trial if widely seen before jury selection.”

Boo fucking hoo. If the cops had video of 4 guys beating the shit out of one pig you can bet that video would have been all over the media from the second after it was in the hands of the pigs. Please, try to tell me it would have been withheld even close to this long had it been any other way.

  29. Mr, Ed - the Original says:

I used to date a police officer.

She never once handcuffed me to the bed and beat me with her night stick.

    Though I begged her to.

  30. John E. Quantum says:

“Policemen are constantly breaking the law. It’s one of the many ways we have of upholding it”
