Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona was shot at a Tucson event Saturday morning; five others have been reportedly killed.

Arizona state Sen. Linda Lopez, who is at University Medical Center in Tucson, said she spoke to Giffords’ parents and that they said she is in the emergency room undergoing surgery and is in very serious condition…

At least four people are dead, University Medical Center spokesman Darci Slaten said. They were among five to seven people who were being treated.

The NBC affilliate in Tucson reports that the FBI has taken over the investigation…

Giffords, 40, a Democrat, serves the 8th Congressional District…

Giffords was re-elected to her third term last November. She was a member of the Arizona House and Senate before coming to Washington.

She first won election to Congress amid a wave of Democratic victories in 2006. In November, she edged a tea party favorite.

There never is a shortage of violent, ignorant thugs in this land who fervently believe they can enforce their political will by force of arms.

Sarah Palin has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district and when people do that, they’ve gotta realize there are consequences to that action.

But that is exactly how government functions. The state extorts money (taxation) via their enforcers from people within a territory and pay the enforcers a little bit of the extortion money afterwards. This is a standard model of organized crime, which the government simply institutionalizes.

Congressional Dem shot – SHOCK HORROR
5 others killed – So what

Am I the only one who sees something wrong in that?

  8. GregA says:

    #8,

Actually, most of the shock at the minute is directed at the 9 year old little girl that was shot to death by the CCW holding tea party/republican shooter

  9. foobar says:

A 10 year old is dead. That’s a lot of finger pointing.

John Boehner’s statement was a class act of leadership.

“Yeah,” he told The Post. “The whole tea party.”

Before you have too much fun blaming Sarah Palin, note one thing:

The longer the mainstream media (hides?)delays identifying the shooter, the more likely he is one of Barney Frank”s Mexican Muslim lovers.

I suggest you get a little more info before you start the blame game.

  15. deowll says:

Jared Laughner appears to be the shooter. It will be interesting to learn what he actually was angry about.

He _might_ be an angry Conservative but one U.S. President was shot and killed because he didn’t hire a former supporter who felt cheated.

We need more information. It may well be true that this person’s anger was rather broader in scope than many think because the shooter was indiscriminate once he got going.

  16. derspankster says:

We need more guns. Perhaps we should provide everybody one when the turn 18, or 21 or whatever.

    Nice ad-hominem.

When applying logic, reason, and empiricism, it is overwhelmingly evident that the government is an institutionalized criminal organization.

  18. Awake says:

Jared Lee Loughner seems to be a rabid follower of Glenn Beck and his “teachings”. And we all know that Glenn Beck is an independent thinker, and not part of the Tea Party… he has said so himself. So my apologies to Sarah Palin and her tea Party, her officially placing a target on Gabrielle’s back had nothing to do with this shooting or any other political violence.

  19. GregA says:

    #18,

Wow, you sound like the shooter. Are you quoting him intentionally?

Are you interested in actual argumentation?

If so, would you provide a rational refutation of my first post?

“But that is exactly how government functions. This is a standard model of organized crime, which the government simply institutionalizes.”

  22. GregA says:

    #24,

No seriously, are you trying to sound like the shooter on purpose as some sort of gag???

  23. RicRevolution says:

    Another ad-hominem.

Since you are avoiding actual argumentation, I have nothing to reply.

I imagine that’s what King George was thinking when those impudent colonists didn’t want to pay so many taxes.

  27. Ah_Yea says:

I’m placing my bets this guy is a liberal loon like the shooter at the school board meeting.

Had enough of Obama’s lies and false promises.

When a liberal loon cracks, it’s all the way.

  28. foobar says:

Ah_Yea, then that would explain why the right wing loons have to scrub their sites?

  29. Ah_Yea says:

Who is scrubbing what? Show me.

Then I’ll show you how much Obama has scrubbed his past.

Also, I bet the meeting was in a “gun free zone”.
