Every time you hear of a new high (low?) in stupidity, there’s something else out there to raise (lower?) the bar even more.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested Friday for using a permanent marker while in class at his Oklahoma City middle school, a violation of an obscure city ordinance.

According to an Oklahoma City Police Department report, the boy was spotted “in possession of a permanent marker” by Roosevelt Middle School teacher DeLynn Woodside. The 50-year-old educator told cop Miguel Campos that the student was “writing on a piece of paper, which caused it to bleed over onto the desk.”

Woodside, pictured at right, reported that the child, whose name was redacted by police from the report, attempted to hide the marker when she asked him for it. Strangely, Woodside’s Facebook page reveals that her “likes and interests” include the official “Sharpie Permanent Markers” page on Facebook.

Campos reported that he allowed Woodside, a seventh grade math teacher, to “sign a citation” against the boy, who was then transported to the Community Intervention Center, a juvenile holding facility. A police sergeant subsequently “booked the marker into the property room.”

On another heinous crime front, there’s the report that includes the creative term, vehicular masturbation.” I guess that’s why the perp has a smile on her face.

What a despicable waste of skin.

    Yeah, this pisses me off.

  2. FRAGaLOT says:

what the fuck? what the hell is wrong with these little people who abuse whatever powers they have? Why would a cop give a shit about a marker pen? If Obama can tell cops to not bother arresting people who posses marijuana, obviously a 15 year old kid can carry around a fucking marker pin. Sharpies? Those aren’t even the kind you can get high off of by sniffing.

Punish the kid by having him clean the desk, not throw him in juvie. He knows he doesn’t deserve that, and when (if) he grows up into some sort of position of power, he will abuse it on someone over something meaningless. And the cycle continues.

This woman should be fired. She is typical of what is wrong with the education system in this country.
I imagine her anger is the result of the fact that she is fat, ugly and probably can’t get laid.

    Which would be worse?

Being stuck in a classroom with that whale-bitch or jail?

#9 notatall is an example of a no-class thug. I wonder if Dvorak Uncensored supports notatall’s call to action?

  10. Somebody_Else says:

Yeah, this story has been news here in Oklahoma for a few days now.

This blog needs a “see something, say something” email address or something for us to report this stuff when it first comes out.

  11. bdgbill says:

There is only one reason a 13 year old boy would carry a permanent marker. The little bastard is scrawling his bullshit on every wall, door and mailbox he can get to unobserved.

The next time you are in a gas station, convenience store or a coffee shop that no longer has a public restroom be aware that you have these little pricks to blame.

  12. notatall says:

#11 jbenson2, yeah, you’re right…no one should ever, ever have their own stupidity brought home to them. Good thing there is zero crime in OK so that big pudding of a woman can have the police arrest a kid for having a fucking magic marker.

  13. notatall says:

#16. Pssst…hey, assclown, tell them it’s at smokinggun.com too since, you know, that’s where the phone number and address was originally posted and is still there. Get over yourself.

  14. Animby says:

How can it be illegal to have something anybody can purchase at the local 7-11? The article states it’s illegal to have one on private property without permission. I would maintain a “Oklahoma City middle school” is public property.

In any case, just about every municipality is squeezed for funds these days. So senseless arrests like this are very fiscally healthy. I read somewhere recently that an average big city booking costs something like $700. Not to mention the costs of prosecution, mediation, whatever, and the eventual payoff to the family. Versus a stern finger wagging (don’t you ever…), a rag, a dollar bottle of nail polish remover and 5 minutes of janitorial time.

    -sigh-

  15. notatall says:

Alfred, make sure you tell the school that someone here posted a link to the public fucking document with all that info on it.

You don’t even play a lawyer on TV, do you?

  16. scadragon says:

“Community Intevention Center”–NWO speak for thought re-programming detetion center?

  17. deowll says:

The law had to be on the books or the cop would have blown her off. She just did the progressive thing and went with it.

I may be wrong but I have a feeling this is one of those zero tolerance laws progressives just love to pass and then bleat about when they get enforced.

I’m a little curious about the actual complaint though. Was it vandalism or having a marker that can be used for huffing or did the dweeb actually say it right and the rule was using a marker _during_ class?

I’m just waiting for it to become a criminal offense for a kid/parent to bring cupcakes to school.

Well actually in some places it is a misdemeanor I think. Can’t have people eating fattening food now can we?

  18. notatall says:

#22: don’t forget to try and bully them into deleting the link to the smoking gun where the police report is posted. Oh, I guess this whole thread would have to be deleted too, right?

But hey, I’m sure there are lots of lawyers looking to get into the deep pockets of a blog site with a .org extension.

Please, continue with your petty countdown to your email of doom.

  19. rwest says:

Alfred Persson you are a tool.

The address and phone number post on this site, and others is for (drum roll) the SCHOOL! It’s not her private residence.

  20. notatall says:

#25: Shhhh…let him go…he’s on a roll! He amuses me.

  21. Scooter says:

    Hey #9-

Two wrongs don’t make a right!

And to the others who seem to think it is ok to post such info, How about the next time you do something stupid someone posts your info so asshats can bother you. And if you think it is ok just because you saw the information on another site; see the first sentence of my post.

I think that what she did was VERY wrong but think about what you post and see if you would like the same done to you.

  22. notatall says:

#28: You forgot to huff and to puff before blowing the door in.

Where is your countdown? There isn’t as much suspense without it.

One more thing…will you be performing Hamlet over the holidays? I’d love to see a real drama queen in action on that one.

  23. bobbo, the evangelical progressive says:

Heh, heh. Its good to see Alfie rotating off his nut, nothing new there, and his settling into his “everything bad shall be labeled progressive” shtick. Whats fun? Watching the other nutbags of similar stripe get in line. Do-ill at #23 getting in line. All good conservative ditto-heads soon to follow.

The teacher was only following the law. The hostility this law warrants, if any, should be against the law makers-not those charged with following it. Its a variant of FREEDOM in a democracy: other people, including the authorities/the majority, doing what you don’t like. Suck it up in the firm belief that you are lawfully doing things they don’t like. Democracy works that way.

Silly hoomans and their kiddies more silly still. More silly? Anyone thinking much more uttering: “I’m outraged that ……” All surely much more like Alfie than not like Alfie.

  24. notatall says:

    #29: “Two wrongs don’t make a right!”

I don’t know about that. Lets say we consider “right’ to be positive and “wrong” to be negative. Mathematically, when you multiply two negatives you get a positive. So in that manner two wrongs can result in a right. 😉

  25. bobbo, the evangelical progressive says:

Or we could say that raping a woman is wrong, and stoning her to death for infedelity is wrong, and together its right to honor Allah in this way.

Yes, two wrongs make right more often than not.

  26. notatall says:

Actually that would be more akin to adding insult to injury and adding two negatives just gets you more negative.

(points to anyone who can make a witty comment along this line of thought with square roots or quadratic equations)

  27. Curtis E. Flush says:

Twisting this Oklahoma City incident into the shape of right-vs-left politics must require a near fatal dose of Oxycontin… as would waking up next to TeacherZilla, who is in flagrant violation of news-generated cougar fantasy requirements.

  28. bobbo, the evangelical progressive antitheist says:

notatall, you obviously don’t appreciate worship and fidelity to a religious overlord. As to square roots and quadratic equations, all things that honor god are good regardless of the mathematical symbolism attached to them just as all things that deny god are evil/wrong. Those things that do neither are irrelevant to a life spent on bended knee.

I’ll leave it to your fine appreciation as to where mathematics falls, but really, your first equation should be seen as rather inane? Please don’t post with thinking like that again, hmmmkay?

  29. notatall says:

#36: “I’ll have to try later….they don’t answer their phone.”

Hey, Einstein, looked at a calendar lately? It’s called Christmas break. Try calling again sometime next year.

  30. J says:

    Alfred

Get over yourself. It is not illegal. She has no case. The Supreme Court has already ruled on this nonsense.
