It’s bad enough to return home to find a burglar has ransacked your house and stolen many treasured belongings. For the thief to then post a picture of himself on your Facebook page – while wearing your winter jacket and waving a wad of your cash – is brazen in the extreme.

But that’s exactly what happened to Washington Post reporter Marc Fisher and his family last week. At some point between 10am and 12.45pm last Friday, a burglar forced his way into Mr Fisher’s Washington, D.C. property by kicking in a door. He then proceeded to steal items including a laptop, iPod and cash from Mr Fisher’s 15-year-old son.

Which is when the thief felt compelled to rub salt into the wound. Mr Fisher writes: ‘He opened my son’s computer, took a photo of himself sneering as he pointed to the cash lifted from my son’s desk, and then went on my son’s Facebook account and posted the picture for 400 teenagers to see. ‘In the picture, the man is wearing my new winter coat, the one that was stolen right out of the Macy’s box it had just arrived in.’

One police officer attending the crime scene even commented: ‘I’ve seen a lot, but this is the most stupid criminal I’ve ever seen.’ Although the photo shows the burglar wearing his newly-acquired coat with the hood pulled up, the full frontal shot clearly shows the burglar’s face. So clear, that the reporter thought that would be the end of the matter and detectives would make an arrest almost immediately.

Astonishingly, despite the seemingly watertight nature of the case, police have yet to arrest the suspect.

Or, is it just a case of incredible arrogance. Let’s face it, ..the cops have better things to do than go after criminals.

Macy’s is American. What desperate students are being beaten up state side?

Sure title nine is killing off vast numbers of college level athletic programs for males because females don’t want to do this kind of bleep but that isn’t getting beaten up and of course some states such as CA prefer illegals to locals but again not a beating.

    Dear god…

  5. Yankinwaoz says:

Are those c-notes? Who in the hell walks around with c-notes? What 15 year walks around with c-notes inside the US? ATM’s don’t even spit out C-Notes. He had to ask for them.

    Weird.

Actually, the LA Times had an article yesterday about a robber in Las Vegas who walked into the Bellagio Casino in the wee hours and stole $1.5 million in chips. He took the high value ones. He got away, but the idiot can’t do anything with them. Every casino is town is going to be looking for those chips to show up.

  6. What? says:

You must live somewhere there isn’t a large population of urban lost souls. This guy will never be found in DC.

  7. Animby says:

I’m just curious. The victim works for the Washington Post. Why is the source material from the Daily Mail?

By the way, just because the coppers have a photo, doesn’t mean they know who he is!

  8. scadragon says:

wonder what the headlines would have read if the people were home when he kicked the door in?

  9. jbenson2 says:

Going to be tough finding this kid. They all look the same.

  10. Special Ed says:

Man, you all are hard on knee grows.

  11. admfubar says:

so their 15yo son has hundreds just lying around and this family cant afford an alarm system??? something is fishy about this story.

  12. Skeptic says:

    I’m sure I’ve seen that thumb before…

  13. What? says:

You know, with more Jesus, we wouldn’t have this problem. These people are on the right track: http://landoverbaptist.org/news0803/pledge.html

  14. chris says:

Are you saying this guy is the most stupidist?

Is stupidity something we need to understand the deeper nature of?

  15. Improbus says:

The only people that fear the police are ordinary law abiding citizens. That is fucked up.

  16. Heinrich Moltke says:

Not stupidity at all. The guy knows he has next to no chance of getting caught.

As for the C-notes: rich Washington Post reporter’s kid has $100 bills laying around. Sounds like they are really struggling through this recession (depression).

Give you 2-to-1 the reporter’s kid is a small-time drug dealer to other rich kids.

  17. nicktherat says:

its only dumb if he is a resident of that police precinct, and doesn’t sell that coat. other than that its hard to spot out someone from a photo unless its pushed through the mass media (maybe someone will recognize him and ask to borrow some mone.)for everyone to see. but since he hasnt killed or almost killed someone, it won’t happen. they live in dc, isnt that place a slum?

  18. confusious says:

I bet he would not look so stupid with a .357 hole between those beady eyes. Wait.. Dead stupid.

  19. jescott418 says:

He is stupid because instead of getting a education and doing something with his life. He is robbing people. Somewhere along the line he never had parents who cared enough to set him stright. But I am sure the Black community will blame someone else.

  20. Cursor_ says:

Actually that is only a single hundred dollar bill and the others showing are one dollar bills if you look carefully.

So the 15 year old had a benjamin and a wad of 1’s. The robber wanted it to look like he made out like a bandit. But it was a run of the mill burglary.

You can get more pickings AFTER xmas.

This kid is low-level and probably will get away with it unless someone rats him out.

  21. scadragon says:

Washington DC… one of the few large cities where a punk can kick in a door and rob a family with no fear of being confronted by people who are armed… looks like said punk will live to rob someone else another day. Maybe punk will be happy to simply rob people. Or maybe next time punk kills an unarmed citizen. “An armed society is a polite society”

  22. Mr Fog says:

    # 20 Cursor_ said, – Actually that is only a single hundred dollar bill

That’s still enough money for him to get a decent manicure.

  23. MikeN says:

Not too different from what Obama does. The Washington Post reporter should be happy that his money went to someone less fortunate, and he helped close the digital divide.

  24. John E. Quantum says:

DC has more police per capita than anywhere else in the USA. The false argument that they are able to protect you in your home is once again shown to be specious. Anyone that believes you should not have the lawful right to protect yourself at home is a cretin. While a firearm might have not been appropriate in this situation, the almost certain knowledge that none was present allowed the perp in this case a degree of comfidence that can not be overlooked.

  25. dvdchris says:

21 said it. Burglars and home invaders have nothing to fear when they know the homeowner is not armed. Every home invader/burglar should be shot if the person is at home and this will solve this issue.

  26. Faxon says:

Another black shit who robs people. And if he IS caught? What? 6 months?

If a fuck like this comes into my house when I am there, he won’t be leaving upright.

    That’s what holsters are for.

  27. Counterweight says:

    # 25 dvdchris ‘Burglars and home invaders have nothing to fear when they know the homeowner is not armed. Every home invader/burglar should be shot if the person is at home and this will solve this issue.’

First let me say, I strongly believe in the right to bear arms. However, if every homeowner were willing to shoot any invader, I doubt it would stop invasions/burglaries. Probably mostly increase the number of dead homeowners as the invaders enter shooting.

  28. TThor says:

    Stoopid, man!

  29. eighthnote says:

#28 “Probably mostly increase the number of dead homeowners as the invaders enter shooting.”

That hasn’t happened in states that have “Make My Day” laws, where a homeowner has a right to use force to defend his/her property.
