For the manpower being used we aren’t getting much bang for our money with the TSA. The biggest issue to me is the organization appears to be brain dead.

They weren’t sticking pictures, descriptions, and things like finger prints in files about people who were “people of interest” they wwere providing to the TSA screeners so if somebody had the wrong name they were being body searched even if they were a toddler before this last round of stupidity in action showed up.

For most people for fifty to a hundred dollars you could do a fairly decent background check and put them on the frequent flier list and settle for running them through a metal scanner and luggage check (They still might be trying to sneak through contraband.) and forgo the rest to be repeated annually of course.

The TSA clearly need better ways to deal with the handicapped, diplomats, etc. Just because you have a metal knee joint doesn’t mean somebody needs to grab your privates every time you fly.

The fact that we are paying hundreds of thousands to bureaucrats who can’t figure out what should have been obvious to a person with average smarts makes me want to puke.

As for Wikileaks. Gates had it right the first time. There wasn’t a major security breach. While mildly embarrassing nothing that was leaked appears to be at all critical. The classification on the stuff should have told everyone with a working brain that much.

The people running around screaming the sky is falling are alarmists looking for attention and no more.
