Al Gore — He did it again.

Recently, Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore toured again. Or maybe he does that all the time. This time, he turned up in Gothenburg (Sweden) for the usual alarmist talk. In advance, all distinguished guests were politely advised to – if possible – use any form of public transportation to go to the event, in order to minimize CO2 emissions.

Intriguingly, the Master of World Climate himself arrived in a rental car (with or without driver is unclear), from the airport, and subsequently left the engine running for the entire lecture. That is to say, about one hour. Incidentally, local legislation prohibits – for very good environmental reasons, i e pollution – any car engine running on empty for more than 60 seconds. Fines are severe. As far as I know, he was not fined.

It starts to form a pattern.

After the ceremony in the Norwegian capital Oslo, it is customary that the laureate is invited to the Swedish capital Stockholm, for a cordial visit. The train ride, supposedly the environmental choice according to Mr. Gore, is approximately four hours. However, he opted for the cosier ride with one of the Swedish government aircrafts. As these can, according to the rules, only be used when a cabinet member is on board – and as the Swedish government after a short ceremonial visit – offered to fly him to Frankfurt (Germany) for his flight to the US, you can calculate both the manpower and the fuel used for this grand tour against man’s destruction of the planet.

Either he’s just plain stupid, arrogant or both but he does not seem to be helping his case much. Maybe an intervention is in order for this “self destructive” behavior.

  1. Greg Allen says:

This article needs a BS meter.

Can anyone explain why Al Gore drives the righties crazy? Is it the science?

  2. The Ugly Gringo says:

#1. Uh, no..that would be the arrogance, oh and the hypocrisy. Yeah, that would do it.

  3. deowll says:

I go with #2. This guy bad mouths me and preaches to me about the need to consume less and use less energy. Okay maybe I do but he has no right to say jack when my carbon foot print is a tenth of his. This guy is a mega consumer.

  4. Cap'nKangaroo says:

I also vote for BS meter on this. Even Lush Bimbo will cite the source (incorrectly, many times) for his info. Anybody see any corroboration on this incident?

  5. Lou Minatti says:

Fat Al had his masseuse in the backseat of the limo, massaging his “chakras” and begging for a happy ending.

The hypocrisy of this bloated pol is breathtaking.

  6. The Ox says:

Good Lord. You link to a talk radio station that in turn links to links to the anti-science loons at “Climate Depot” for a source. And “Climate Depot” is sponsored by…well…take a look:

    http://cfact.org/

Come on, man! Crap like this is why Amercians are so damn stupid.

Did Gore leave his car idling? Hell if I know. Would I take “Climate Depot’s” word for it? No. I wouldn’t take their word that water is wet.

Even if Gore did leave his car idling, what’s the point? The amount of greenhouse gas from a single idling auto is infinitesimal in the scheme of things. How many years would that car need to idle to equal even one hour’s greenhouse gas output of even one coal fired electric plant?

This kind of thing is basically crap. It’s designed to distract the stupid. No more. No less.

  7. Al Gore is a hypocrite.

  8. Thomas says:

#6. Mr. OX….google is your best friend. This is not the first time Gore has done something like this….some people need a guide dog for everything.

  9. TeaParty Retarty says:

Oh yes, He would have been a better president than chimpy!

  10. Glass Half Full says:

    ROTFLMAO

Yet another fake story. I’m pretty whoever sponsored this event just “sent a car”. I don’t think it was up to Al Gore when or where they went or how the driver idled or not.

Yet more make news from the fake anti-science anti-reality anti-face crowd. Sure, the Earth is 6,000 years old, men rode dinosaurs, Jesus is coming back next year, bigfoot and the aliens kidnapped your dog, and global warming is a global hoax by 12,316 scientists working in concert to fool you.

    Yeah kids, google “Occam’s razor”

  11. ramuno says:

    BS

  12. me says:

    @ #1 Greg Allen

The science? LOL How about the hypocrisy. You know, the, “We should all do with less, to save the planet” mantra, from this idiot.

When he buys a “get away from it all” house like this:

    http://huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/17/photos-al-goree-new-8875_n_579286.html

  13. Fed up with this jerk says:

    What a tool!

  14. Benjamin says:

Al Gore is a hypocrite. If he wants to the world to use fewer resources, than he should be an example for the world to follow.

“By their fruits ye shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” Matthew 7:16 American Standard Version Yes it is a quote from the Bible, but does anyone doubt that verse?

I know Al Gore more from his actions than his words. Does Al Gore’s actions toward the environment leave me to believe that I should reduce my carbon footprint?

I pay more on my gas bill for some guy to come and read my meter than I pay for actual natural gas. I have a maximum of four light bulbs lit at any one time and that is just for the short amount of time I am going from room to room. I take out one bag of garbage every week or two. However, Al Gore thinks I should reduce my carbon footprint and ride a bicycle.

He uses millions of gallons of water just to float his canoe down the river, he has a house that is lit up like an airport runway, and he rides around in private jets and leaves his limo idle, yet I am the one that needs to reduce my carbon footprint.

Al Gore sells carbon credits at his business and makes millions on the whole carbon scam. I am not going to enrich Al Gore’s get rich quick scam.

  15. Speter says:

Occam s Razor is a tool of distraction, forcing you to accept what seems to be the simplest explanation, it works in most cases but when deception is needed, it doubles as the tool of lies.

our educational institutions serve to compartmentalize knowledge. and not allow new free thoughts, you stray from the party line (ie, you cant travel faster than light etc, need to believe the simplest explanation) and you are demonized (just like gallelaio and bruno)

We are taught to trust science blindly and only believe things that can be “verified”. that limits our potential. we need to be mindful of this.

in any case, the main issue i have with “science of AGW” is that we are expected to believe that it (if true) will have an overall negative impact. they have not promoted any positive aspects as the whole policy is to generate fear and raise money for banksters.

fact is that most corals formed when the sea was warmer, land will become more arable, some people will no longer freeze to death, sea levels may rise, and as people have done for millennia they will move their huts onto taller poles, if they happen to really live that close to the water.

we are being conned on a grand scale, there are FAR FAR worse environmental issues that we should collectively be dealing with, and these include deforestation, pollution, human rights issues, economic slavery, etc, but certainly not taxing us for what we breathe out and plants require for survival.

make carbon a common enemy to unite the people under one world government. since that isnt working and people have woken up, next step is to use BioDiversity Credits (as if these globalists actually care about little froggies etc) when that fails its time for project bluebeam, these guys will not stop, they are ruthless.

Just because AGW is a gravy train and many scientists have been fooled (along with the many who have soldout)does not mean that I had O.D.D. if i disagree with them.

Common sense tells me that our environment is more complex that can be imagined and a single life giving gas is not to blame. it was supposed to be a hidden enemy but all it has done is reveal the real enemies, those who push the propaganda. wake up people.

ps: just watch any video on undersea volcanoes and see how much life thrives in the depths with extreme heat and extreme gasses, Life is not about to perish due to some exhaust gasses.

But yes we do need to reduce pollution and fix societal issues, Carbon is not a pollutant is the very base of life.

  16. The_Tick says:

Look, the system works,,,, Because of Benji’s sacrifices i can feel better about letting the hummers idle a few extra hours each evening. With Al’s system I should be able to buy Benji’s extra carbon credits for I don’t know, maybe three fiddy a month or so.
The poor could make good money if they just toughened up and turned down their thermostats. They could even huddle into some sort of mass for extra warmth. Add on to this a healthy tax on that carbon cash and we are looking at a tidy revenue stream. So get on the ball or get on the bus you bunch of pinko enterprise haters.

  17. Roger says:

Gore or his driver left the car idling. We don’t know which, but we’ll blame Gore either way.

How do you know a car was idling, who it belonged to, and how long it was there, but not know how it got there?

Gore, or his paid assassin, killed the man. We don’t know who the man was, how he died, or if he even existed. We will, however, call Gore a murderer.

Stupid people not even smart enough to know there are people smarter than them.

  18. ECA says:

I would like more numbers on the OTHER CHEMICALS in the air…FIRST..

    ALSO,
I would like to point out the OTHER POLLUTIONS..
    from the 70’s Sulfur dioxide..
Plastic ISLANDS in the ocean..there are 2 of them.
Look up “SUPER FUND CITES” on the net..Enjoy.
I wont TOUCH over population in areas..
HOW about SEED STOCK that wont fertilize itself, so a FARMER can grow NEST YEARS crops, and make more money?? ALSO that many of these crops CROSS POLLINATE NATURAL CROPS, so they WONT grow another crop.
HOW about your PEANUT BUTTER, has no PEANUT OIL in it…but the STUFF we sell to other nations DOES..and we sell MOST of it at CHEAPER PRICES then you pay at the STORE, for PEANUT butter with SOY OIL..

  19. sargasso_c says:

    There are limosines in Sweden?

  20. vonriesling says:

What the story doesn’t tell you is that the car was running on kitten juice!

    What a pantload story.

  21. Bingobilly says:

Yes,but it did not count, because it was all NATURAL gas..har

  22. Orion314 says:

Why people believe anything an inbred-hillbilly-lying-cocksucker-avarice-monger-shit kicker-whore like alvin gore says, will forever remain a mystery of the ages. To be fair, algore did not invent the internet, but he did invent global warming.

  23. Olo Baggins of Bywater says:

Another urban legend foisted upon the gullible.

  24. jman says:

“Oh yes, He would have been a better president than chimpy!”

how dare you talk about obama like that?

  25. Pilgrim says:

It believe it, when I was driving town cars in Boston during the Kerry candidacy. Gore’s limo was idling outside Kerry’s house in Louisburg square.

In his defense, an idling limo is more the fault of the driver then the guy how gets out and is running for an appointment.

  26. MR says:

Do as I say, not as I do SLAVE!!!

  27. Someone Else says:

Al Gore’s alive? Damn, I thought he’d be compost by now.

  28. darthnoor says:

“When pointed to the moon, the fool looks at the hand” is a Chinese proverb that very much applies in this case.
Al Gore might be a hypocrite, he might have some conflict of interest, he might not even have the scientific education to really be convincing to all, but that is not how you can discredit global warning. If this all you can bitch and moan about then maybe it is time to suck it up and start making changes to the way we live before the “alarmist” prediction come true.

  29. Rob Leather says:

    What a fucking asshole.

Sorry, I realise there are more urbane, wittier phrases that could be used to describe this (I’m more pissed off about the flight incidentally) but asshole seems to suppase all of them.

  30. Greg Allen says:

Wow, conservatives like to talk about “Bush derangement syndrome” but clearly there is a “Gore derangement syndrome” happening here.

Seriously, you dudes need to let this guy go — it’s making you guys seem stupid and unhinged.

Gore’s _SUPPOSED_ hypocrisy doesn’t change the science of global warming and you act like it does! That’s just dull thinking.

As far as this story goes, it doesn’t pass the initial sniff test.

For starters, the headline says “limo” but the article says rental car. (enough to stop reading right there.)

Two, the juvenile snarky tone is clearly by someone not interested in the facts.

Lastly, the story doesn’t even make logical sense if you spend more than five seconds thinking about it.

The writer admits he doesn’t even know if Gore had a driver or not. If Gore had a driver, then the DRIVER left the car idling, not Gore. If Gore drove himself, then it’s extremely highly unlikely he left a idling rental car unattended. (how often to YOU do that?).

But you silly fellas bought this story hook-line-and-sinker because it affirms your own prejudices. Futhermore, you guys are going to file this away as some “pattern” with Gore.

But, what else do I expect? Guys who get their science from Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are not going to have any better judgment about from where they get their news.
