  8. bobbo, the evangelical anti-theist says:

Heh, heh==good one Cursor===yes, carrots come in just after “sugar beets” for the amount of sugar in them. Like “sweet corn” they are being bred to increase the sweetness as per consumer preference. Soon they will be inedible and quite popular.

There are “real” baby carrots, but they taste the same as “young” carrots if they are sweet enough. I suppose it is better than raw sugar==but not much.

  9. chuck says:

Unfortunately, they still taste like carrots.

Wrap them in bacon, deep-fry them, and then get rid of the carrot – and I’ll eat ’em.

  10. bobbo, int'l pastry chef and bloated gourmand says:

chuck==contrary to what I posted, one of my favorite side dishes is glazed carrots: slice carrots and boil/steam until just tender, then put in fry pan with butter, honey, brown sugar to taste and fry until slightly carmalized.

    Quite delicious.

Variation: butter, onions, garlic, and thyme and puree into a cream based soup. Also quite excellent.
