These sort of situations seem similar to what Penn Jillette speaks about in this youtube vid.

  2. LDA says:

Give the guy a break. Must be a shitty job sometimes. Most people couldn’t keep their cool and the fact that most cops do makes them better people than most of us.

  3. steve says:

I would hate to be a cop these days having to be always politically correct while being taped by these pseudo citizen journalist.

  4. DaveO says:

    fail

  5. Riker17 says:

In this case, I must take the side of the cop. The video shows what numb-skulls these so-called liberty people are when they have the best of intentions, but a lack of information.

  6. julio says:

At least the cop admitted he was wrong. I’d give this cop a pass.

  7. Mike says:

If cops weren’t being trained and told that their job is to intimidate then these numb-skull liberty people wouldn’t have to be pseudo citizen journalists in the first place.

The increasing number of citizens wanting to tape police is only a response to the increasingly aggressive manner in which police are acting.

  8. Ofc. Dick says:

I like the part where the street racers wrap their cars around light poles and get burned alive.

  9. Milos says:

I’m going to have to take the side of the cop as well. The guy running the camera was obviously a troublemaker. Sure, the cop might have been a little overly aggressive, but the cameraman was goading him on by intentionally being argumentative and uncooperative. I thought it was funny when the cameraman said he was scared the cop was going to hit him. If he was that concerned for his safety he should have cooperated with the officer or left the scene. Instead he stands around arguing with the officers and trying to prove a point. I can’t stand people like that. He’s lucky he didn’t get tasered.

  10. bobbo, only the mentally enslaved protect their oppressors says:

I could accept ONE idiot posting on the side of the cops but multiples? OUTRAGEOUS!!!!

If the cops were trained to do their jobs and to keep their dicks in their pants what would this scenario have looked like? – – –

Motorcycle Cop stopped at a light with a citizen filming him from the sidewalk. Light Changes. Cop moves along with the traffic. Thats it.

You actually think it is the citizens fault not to be afraid when the cop violates his rights to be LEFT ALONE unless violating the law by cops for their individual power issues?

You all deserve to be in a gulag feeling guilty for taking up space the STATE has provided you. Stockholm Syndrome really does exist.

YES the filming idiots could know their law and personal relationships a lot better but the cops are paid to do their jobs, and if they did, the citizen idiots would get bored in a week and go back to their bongs. You people who don’t understand the basic requirements of a free society bother me.

You don’t deserve the freedom you don’t respect.

  11. McCullough says:

Wouldn’t it have been funny if the guy actually WAS a lawyer?

  12. MikeB says:

The cop said he was wrong. The photographer does need to provide his name when asked by the police. They were both wrong. Only the cop admitted it. Cop did the right thing in the end.

  13. bobbo, only the mentally enslaved protect their oppressors says:

    #12–BobK==who was “looking for trouble?”

How would you like to be confronted by a cop later tonight and asked for your ID? Are you LOOKING FOR TROUBLE by speaking freely on this blog OR are you enjoying your freedoms as a citizen in a free country and ITS THE COPS that are violating your rights and looking for trouble.

Man—you got your values absolutely backwards. You don’t deserve the freedom you don’t respect.

Are we all slap happy and grateful the cop didn’t take the guy to the ground in a choke hold as shown in the other post a few days ago? Sure.

    True sheep.

  14. bobbo, only the mentally enslaved protect their oppressors says:

#14–Mike==no requirement to give your name unless you are being detained on reasonable suspicion of being involved in a crime. See how you rights as a free American are so easily given up when bad cops pervert your expectations?

Know your rights, exercise them with due caution, don’t be a sheeple.

  15. roastedpeanuts says:

Awww accountability due to recording! Whodda thunk it?

  16. fargonaz says:

Just think, if these idiots didn’t have a camera the cop probably wouldn’t have looked twice. Also, we conveniently don’t get to see what got the cop’s attention in the first place.

The cop, being abused by this stupid fucktard, should have some recourse.

  17. bobbo, only the mentally enslaved protect their oppressors says:

#18–fargonads==you say: “if these idiots didn’t have a camera the cop probably wouldn’t have looked twice” /// Ok, so what difference does having a camera make?

I thought you gun nuts were all about having guns to protect you from the overbearing power of the STATE? Ok to have a gun, but not a camera?

Your stupidity wouldn’t bother me but your ignorant support of overreaching authority diminishes the liberty of everyone else around you.

    Stoopid Human.

  18. bmorebadboy says:

bobbo- You are 100% right on this issue. Oh my god, it is insane to see the level of indoctrination on this blog. This is the reason why Hitler came into power. Because indoctrinated sheeple like the ones on this blog excused aggression by the state. Stockholm syndrome is indeed alive and well. That’s why so many side with the cop. You relate to your masters so well. Hey massa, our house is burnin. Hey massa, we sick. It is truly sad.

How can this guy abuse the cop? Who has the gun? Who has the power of the whole freaking police department at his back? Who has the shadow of doubt given to him automatically by the judicial system? Who has been equipped by the government to aggress against individuals at his own discretion? The only equalizer this “idiot f*cktard” has is a camera. Who knows what would’ve happened had he not been filming at the time and the ubiquity of such police abuse videos on the net recently? These things need to be exposed.

Oh, and the most precious bit: He’s tired. He has to deal with criminals all day. Excuse after excuse for abusing his power. Wow. Well, if he isn’t built to deal with criminals all day, maybe he CHOSE THE WRONG PROFESSION! Why doesn’t he go get a desk job and push some papers? At least then when he starts feeling aggressive he can take it out on a pencil sharpener. If an employee at Walmart started shouting at you after dealing with dickwads all day, would you excuse him also? What a retarded mentality. It truly sickens me. As bobbo said above, they are here to protect and serve. Unfortunately, they are truly here to protect and serve the establishment, their employers, the government.

  19. coward says:

right now a camera is more dangerous than a gun to cops

  20. bmorebadboy says:

“That was the whole point, to intimidate you to back off.” -police office #33

    If that’s not telling, I don’t know what the f*ck is…

  21. Henry G says:

@ #11 I couldn’t have said it better. Yes, a more appropriate response to the request for identification may have been, “I’m not driving officer. I have ID, but I don’t believe I’m required to give it to you.” while continuing to record the incident.

  22. fargonaz says:

Doddo, All cops are bad, said,”Blah blah blah the usual contrived line of BS.”

The point is, Dipstick, that you do not know what went on before this hacked piece of footage showed up.

Ya, Doddo, let get rid of all the cops…

Doddo, don’t you ever get tired of being a stupid fucking tool?

  23. Michael_gr says:

There will come a time – and it’s not that far off – when we’ll be able to easily and automatically record every second of every day of our lives. Perhaps there will be multiple tiny cameras embedded in every shirt, I don’t know. But it’s definitely going to happen soon, and the cops – all of us, in fact – better get used to being recorded in every encounter they have with citizens.

  24. chris says:

I think it is telling how the host shows no fear, and the how the cop quickly recognizes what he is dealing with. Both sides are smartly playing their game.

  25. bobbo, only the mentally enslaved protect their oppressors says:

#20–bmore==is it you or that other guy that I’m always disagreeing with? Anyway, given the number of igits posting here, its good to have your agreement. A calm island of reason in this sea of mindlessness submission to an authoritarian State. Kafkaesque!!

#24–fargonaz==even your made up BS is too stupid to respond to. Respond to anything actually said or implied, and I’ll get back to you.

  26. PaulG says:

I wouldn’t have been surprised if that kid got baton whooped, tazed and taken off for a complete and utter waste of police time.

He was an idiot, and that cop should have busted his head open. I felt like doing it all throughout the video.

The cops job is difficult enough without have to deal with this type of crap.

  27. Awake says:

    #28 PaulG –

Jews being marched off into the showers also respected “authority”.

Sounds like you would happily be one of those directing the marching.

Why do you hate freedom so much? Are you a member of the Taliban?

  28. Mr. Fusion says:

    Bobbo,
I thought you gun nuts were all about having guns to protect you from the overbearing power of the STATE? Ok to have a gun, but not a camera?

    Very well put.

As someone else above put it, we don’t accept the excuse from a WalMart greeter that they’ve had a bad day. That shouldn’t work for the police either. If the job is too stressful, they should change jobs.

  29. TThor says:

I hate cops that abuse and intimidate. That said, the camera crew here were assholes as well. I sat back with a feeling they were out there just to provoke. That is not not necessary, unless the abuse is systemic and you’d like to uncover it for the world. You catch an officer abusing power. Fine! Great! I commend you! Nail him.
But don’t put a camera in the face of a guy that has pulled 12 hours or more, tryin g to get a mess organized. Trust me, even a peaceful man as I could be tempted to smack a punk in the teeth, pointing a camera in my face and giving smart comments while I try my best to get things sorted.
I am all for citizens agains power abuse etc. and evidence gathering But don’t provoke an irrational reaction OK? That is not fair to the subject and it falls flat with the public. Negative result.

  30. bobbo, words have meaning says:

TThor–why don’t you stick to the facts evidenced in this case? The only thing needing sorting in the video is the cop going out of his way to intimidate, bully, and coerce a free citizen exercising his free constitutional rights. Bring in extraneous irrelevant issues as you do, and you will remain the same.
