3Par’s company slogan is, “Resilient Infrastructure Agility For Less”. Someone at HP thought that was worth buying.

“Do we need an FM radio in all devices?”

That’s probably being demanded by the media monopolists. Such as Clear Channel. Who fear their audience will all go away if they don’t have FM tuners built into everything hand held. And they can’t own internet radio, the way they own mostly all the physical radio stations. The new broad band technology is threatening to obsolete their investment. So they’ve gotten the FCC to require FM tuners in everything. Just in case of emergencies, like the bombings, floods, and hurricanes. Only most of the stations are automated. And are set up to do local alerts. But the feds can claim it’s part of the National Alert System. So that saves Clear Channels’ bacon. They’re tax payer subsidized!
