It might be more correct to say that Hadron Collider has duplicated all the work done previously and now they are hoping it will find something new or they have blown a mountain of money.
Some physicist believe you would need the acceleration only produced by a collider as big as the solar system. That last tiny massive amount of energy near c is a bitch.

AT&T WiFi network. I went to the National Geographice museum on Sunday to see the DiVinchie stuff, and stumbled on the green/sustainable
exhibit. It mentioned wifi mesh networks for poor people. From my research wifi mesh is a nonstarter: poor range, no handoff, heavy overhead bitrate, ugh. Question: is it possible to build a practical overtheair network that provides good bandwidth?
