This location is only a few miles from where I live.
Although it’s a business idea that may create dozens of jobs in Henderson [Nevada, adjacent to Las Vegas], it’s a business that could also aggravate lots of homeowners.
The project has been envisioned as a heavy equipment theme park where customers can drive bulldozers, backhoes, and dump trucks. For anyone that loves trucks and heavy machinery, this could be quite a playground. But there’s a lot of skepticism surrounding the plan, which could also be very noisy and dusty.
Business owner Ed Mumm […] already operates a similar attraction in Colorado.

While it may be a giant sandbox for some, those who live nearby have some serious reservations.

Well they got to do something until the real estate market re-establishes itself. You got millions of foreclosed on homes to sell before they can build new ones. This is an idea that would work. Maybe they could get some tanks in there too.
I would actually love to try this out. Big fan since I was a kid. I’m sure it wouldn’t be as much fun watching as it is driving and manipulating them but definitely worth a shot 🙂
Diggerland – been around for years in the UK
Old saying: The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.
I can see it working besides some guys might try it in an effort to get a few job skills.
Good use of the equipment until Obama figures out where all the “shovel-ready” jobs went.

They need satellite sites on the Florida, Alabama, Louisiana and Texas beaches
Part of my fun as a truck driver was when I was dedicated to hauling new John Deere construction and forestry equipment. I was expected to load and unload anything at the ports and occasionally at the dealers. Lots of fun. A John Deere backhoe drives better than many cars.
Somewhat similar to this idea is a site you can see when going south on NJ Turnpike. The sign for it says something like Operating Engineers Local XX training facility.
I think this would be a blast.
I fancy a “blowing shit up camp”, where respectable town folk can play with demolition ordinance and flame throwers. Kind of like Baghdad, but without the piles of burning bodies.
