An unidentified flying object (UFO) disrupted air traffic over Zhejiang’s provincial capital Hangzhou late on Wednesday, the municipal government said on Thursday. Xiaoshan Airport was closed after the UFO was detected at around 9 pm, and some flights were rerouted to airports in the cities of Ningbo and Wuxi , said an airport spokesman, who declined to be named.

The airport had resumed operations, and more details will be released after an investigation, he said.

A source with knowledge of the matter, however, told China Daily on Thursday that authorities had learned what the UFO was after an investigation. But it was not the proper time to publicly disclose the information because there was a military connection, he said, adding that an official explanation is expected to be given on Friday. Inbound flights were diverted to the nearby airports in Zhejiang province’s Ningbo and Jiangsu province’s Wuxi. Outbound flights were delayed for three to four hours.

A staff member at the airport’s information desk said the airport had “no idea” how many flights were affected by the closure. At around 11 pm on Wednesday, a netizen wrote three entries announcing the airport’s closure in his microblog at Sina.com, but they were all soon deleted.

    Nice pic of an airplane.

  3. Squinty's Dry Cleaner says:

I’m surprised any of the Chinese could see this space craft given you can blindfold them with dental floss. That picture is merely an inter-galactic cruise ship full of tourists pointing out how these people below can be blinded by a windshield. The comedian on that space ship is telling the little greys what is served at a gay Chinese restaurant, “cream of Sum Yung Guy.” There was no planned stop here, their next port of call was Lubbuck, Texas where they were planning to drain some blood out of cattle.

The claim that “a military connection” will be revealed on Friday is absolutely preposterous.
It’s Saturday, and no explanation in sight. The one fact you can take to the bank is that ANY govt/military will never, EVER, come clean on this. DENY, LIE, OBFUSCATE, IGNORE, et al, this is the mantra governments across the world operate under. Anything and EVERYTHING except the TRUTH…

Is it my imagination or is the weirdshitometer beginning to climb off the zero peg?

Just seems that those hyperspace portal special effects are leaving Hollywood and entering real life.

  6. yea says:

@ #4 Orion314. Fully agree. When I was in flight training in the military, one of our practice areas was next to a huge military base/reserve where alot of odd stuff went on. anyways two planes on a student training flight witnessed an odd airborne occurrence while flying along the boarder of this training area/reserve, so much so that they came back and filled out a UFO report (believe it or not there is an official form for that).

Anyways, to make a long story short, all parties involved were told to never describe or talk about what they saw, both instructors were sent back out to the fleet immediately and both students were sent promptly to other training bases.

Considering that the entire Chinese race is made up of aliens, I see this as nothing more than one of them flying around.

  15. boolez says:

It’s either a missile gone awry or else an experimental jet. UFO’s do not exist but military research does.

  16. nicktherat says:

    @boolez

apparently it is a UFO because you aren’t sure what it is either.

ufos exist everywhere… when there is a fly in my room and i don’t know the type of fly , it too is a UFO.

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.”

  22. lynn says:

Are Chinese UFOs made of cadmium and other toxic metals?

  23. Bara says:

If that is a UFO from another species then they seem harmless enough. The propulsion is slower than my vw beetle. In fact if that is a UFO maybe we should help those alien folk improve their primative technology.
    hehe
