    Cool! That was awesome. =)

  2. jim says:

I had to get my welding mask out for that. Very Cool vid!

  3. jbenson2 says:

I have even more respect for Rocket Scientists after watching this remarkable 40 year-old film.

  4. Walter Bishop says:

Gives you a new bit of respect for the guys who climbed atop that extended directed explosion.

  5. Dallas says:

Impressive. What happened to the guy that was holding the camera?

  6. mal says:

    Nice show.

So what was exactly the point of sitting on this for 40 years?

  7. chuck says:

Now that the US is winding down it’s manned space program, it’s nice to be nostalgic and look back at when something significant was accomplished.

And then look forward to the future when the next significant accomplishment in space will probably be done by the Chinese.

  8. Faxon says:

I was 20 years old in 1969. I was proud to be an American, and was on my way to Vietnam. I no longer am proud of America, and, frankly, hate the leadership we now are enduring. Nonetheless, NASA kicked ass then, and it was the last gasp of America’s greatness, in my opinion. What has happened since then? Well, the politically correct assholes have ruined this country.

  9. dave says:

Wow. They still didn’t land on the moon. 1969 technology and all the sheep follow right along because they can’t believe their loving government would lie to them.

  10. sargasso says:

    photoshopped

  11. O'Flaherty says:

I was 31, had two wonderful sons and worked for Rockwell in 1969 but I already knew I had missed the greatest generation by some 25 years. Our pride, anger, greed, gluttony, envy, lust and slouth had already out paced our humility, etc, by then! So my advice is to get up off our dead arse, stop our whinning and do something as we have become sniveling pieces of organic crap if you think this is the last gasp, Mr. Faxon. It was a great clip and brought back many memories!
