Denver — A brazen theft in the Cherry Creek Mall left the victim with a permanent injury to his hand. He had just bought an iPad as a favor for a friend.
“I saw just a bone, all the skin and tendons and everything were off,” Jordan said, describing the violent robbery that tore off part of his finger.
“It’s like a bad dream,” he said.
Ouch!
Moral of the story: get a concealed carry permit.
You only need a thumb and index finger for the gesture based GUI.
next time, let go…

Well, just another example of how “close” property crime is linked to crimes on people.
I have great compassion for those stealing bread, not so much for the Ipad. Now, I would also “assume” the young criminals would never have intentionally hurt the man, they just wanted the toys. But their behavior will escalate absent intervention.
Its why good crime prevention should focus on the small stuff like this to avoid the larger stuff down the road. We don’t do it of course, rather build jails to house them later.
Green–he did let go. Can’t you read???
BTW–might add I caught a new show on tv called “I Survived.” Seems to focus on how survivors of violent crime got thru their ordeals. Really stomach turning stuff what one person will do to another for so little or just for the fun of it.
A few scenario’s raised an interesting question: how far into a crime should you go before “changing your mind” becomes relevant? While I think that makes a huge moral difference, determining the facts to justify the application of that morality seem almost impossible.
At least it wasn’t taken from his cold, dead hands.
After reading the story in detail, I can’t help but think that the victim bares some responsibility for this.
According to the story, these 2 men were following him for some time.
You do bare some responsibility and obligation to protect yourself and exercise a bit of vigilance in your own personal security.
Hmeyers: Do you say the same to a rape victim if she was wearing a skirt that night?
