Damn, and the weather was improving. :(

  1. Todd Peterson says:

Looking forward to hear Adam explaining that this volcano is because of Iceland’s financial problems.

    Idiot.

  2. The DON says:

Icelands financial problems did not cause this.

This is Icelands response to the onerous repayment of the debts incurred by their financial problems.
I can just hear them saying “The wind is in the right direction… Let her rip!” as they trigger a volcano.

Meanwhile, the weather looks normal at ground level in the UK – is this real? or a cover for something else?

  3. GigG says:

#2.. Unfortunately planes don’t fly at ground level.

  4. Olo Baggins of Bywater says:

GigG…fortunately they do, but typically not for long.

  5. bobbo fun fact No 237 says:

Actually, ground level is below the wings of a parked airplane and airplanes NEVER fly at ground level.

No word game here. Ever see “ground fog”? Sometimes no more than 5-6 feet high but airplanes can’t land because the ground is obscured.

  6. Benjamin says:

I wonder how many carbon credits the volcano will need to buy to offset the carbon it is outputting.

  7. hhopper says:

Volcanic ash will destroy the jet engines.

  8. deowll says:

I’m waiting for someone to claim it is caused by man made global warming and that all we need to do to fix it stop using fossil fuels.

  9. Uncle Patso says:

I’d rather take a train anyway. Too bad there isn’t a transatlantic one.

  10. Hastur says:

I’m stuck in Greece. We were supposed to fly home to Sweden tomorrow morning. Now we’ll be going by boat and buss. via Italy and Germany. 3½ days of fun ahead. Oh Joy!
b.t.w. Not a train seat left in Europe now. The train haven’t got a chance of covering for all the air traffic. Just not enough capacity.
