He says he’s not going to run despite starting to do and say things a future candidate would do and say, but who believes what a politician says? So, which would be worse as President: Cheney who helped usher in some of the fascist police state tactics that are all the rage these days or Sarah Palin whose knowledge of history (and most everything else) is as deep as a dry river bed? Ignoring other candidates, is Obama so bad (in reality, not the hysterical Tea Party-level nonsense) that we’d be better off with one of them?

Fresh off his weekend back-and-forth with the Obama administration, former Vice President Dick Cheney took his fight to the heart of the political right, making a surprise address Thursday to the Conservative Political Action Conference and telling them President Obama will be defeated in 2012.

“I think Barack Obama is a one-term president,” he said.

Mr. Cheney’s appearance was greeted by a standing ovation, with some even getting on top of their chairs.

“Unbelievable! Thank you!” shouted one, while a small group shouted, “Run, Dick, run.”

“A run like that is almost enough to make me want to run for office. But I’m not gonna do it,” Mr. Cheney said.

Here’s more about the conference.

Cheney is old enough that the results of aging are and issue. I’ve not seen or heard a word or action from the man that suggests he’s raciest so I’m forced to assume that Uncle Dave is engaging in slander.

I’m of the opinion that Palin is at least as well educated and has demonstrated much more competence than Uncle Dave.

She a graduate, runs a successful business, has been a mayor and Governor. I think she’d be vice President if the economic crises hadn’t occurred when it did. I think she’s been paid as much as 100,000 for a speaking engagement. That’s a lot and I think she’s younger than Uncle Dave.

If any of you disagree then post Palin’s record and Uncle Dave’s and see what you get.

#65: “The only solution is to stop paying taxes.”
    Um-right.

“government payroll would be forced to listen to “the people”

The People who don’t pay taxes will be listened to all right–from Federal jails.

  3. BmoreBadBoy says:

#66 – You’d be surprised by the number of people who don’t pay federal taxes. The government is so incompetent there is no way for them to catch them all. Not to mention, I guess about 100 million people or so are eligible for government extortion, there just aren’t enough IRS agents to keep track. That’s why they target people in the public eye now and then (remember, Wesley Snipes?) to scare the rest of the populace into falling in line.

How do you think they pay for those Federal jails? From the taxes they extort from you in the first place. If even 20% of the private work force openly refused to stop paying taxes (public aka government work force doesn’t count, their salaries are drawn from taxes also) they’d have trouble funding those Federal jails to keep that 20% incarcerated.
