“This happens to the knee grow all the time.”

Exactly. Now they’re doing it to everyone they consider a “civilian.”

I *hate* when the cops call us “civilians.” Proof that they believe they’re some sort of para-military org. Which makes sense, since they’re all ex-military these days. Different skill-set, as we’ve seen from Iraq.

  3. Skeptic says:

    #32, Steve… ummm… you too.

This story has moved on sinse this repost. the girl got a large settlement and the cop got his job back. good news, bad news

  5. GF says:

Why turn off the camera, I thought the good guys have nothing to hide.

What’s disturbing is that he got reinstated because of a technicality and that the city doesn’t give a shit that it lost $400,000 of the taxpayer’s money because of this moron. I hope the chief gives him toilet bowl duty till he quits.

  6. amodedoma says:

Somehow I doubt that when they have a perp for interrogation, that it’s standard operating procedures to shut the tape off as his defense lawyer insists.
OTOH, being foolish enough to challenge some micro-dicks authority was what led this woman into that situation – $400,000 richer yes, which is about what the plastic surgeon will want to fix that scar on her forehead and put her nose back where it was. I teach my 3 kids, if you can’t avoid contact with the police, the correct answers are yes sir or no sir. Keep your head down and your mouth shut, and above all obey.

  7. Mighty Mouse says:

That’s why there should be a Camera in the booking area in the corners of the room in every corner, monitored by dispatch. Every square inch should be covered. The cop would not be able to “turn off the camera” and knowing they are watched keeps things on a even flow. The Camera does not lie.

Re: #28: The link goes to someone who seems like a very intelligent person and I can only hope that he is not right about the unconstitutional use of energy weapons because the technology certainly exists to do everything he talks about.

  9. TripHamer says:

As others have said, those injuries most likely happened when she hit the floor….with her face….and a large man on top of her at the time. Obviously, all of that could of been avoided if she had kept her mouth shut. Screaming, demanding and acting like a spoiled child that’s going to throw a tantrum if they don’t’ get their way is the wrong approach. I would assume that the police officer “read her the riot act” (so to speak) but I seriously doubt he meant to do that. But this is all speculation obviously.

    # 37 amodedoma,

    Yes, America obey your masters.

  11. to all the stupid morons says:

First: to all those saying keep your mouth shut and get a lawyer: who do you think she wanted to call??

Second: to the idiots who don’t bother to read things or watch things in their entirety: she was not drunk.

Third: Cops are people who have failed at all other things in life and took the course of last resort: become a cop. They can not be trusted under any circumstances. They are thugs, bullies, thieves, criminals, wife-beaters and racists.

  12. meetsy says:

come on! We all know that spousal abuse (wives beaten by cop husbands) is widespread — and always ignored by the departments they work for (or 99.9% of the time). There are many, many cops hired who are bullies and abusive and mean assh*les. You hear it in cop shops all the time “he’s okay, just a little hot headed” “maybe if she hadn’t opened her mouth and wised up” “he needs to cool off, but he’s fine”. Always excuses about the guy who should not be employed in any law enforcement capacity.
This cop had all the body language of a bully. She was, from the looks of it, drunk, mouthy and dumb. HOWEVER, that does not mean you put an abusive bully in the same room with her!
It wasn’t her fault, she was reacting like many people who are drunk, and naive, and probably spoiled (used to talking her way out of things because she’s cute, easy, or whatever). But, he was getting excited by her resisting…..you can see it in his body language.
I’d wager his wife and/or girlfriend’s have been roughed up more than a few times.

  13. Ann Nonymous says:

I’d like to congratulate that cop for kicking her butt – if he did it! Anyone that belligerent needed a little “tuning up.” However, I seriously doubt any cop actually did anything. I believe instead that she actually did hurt herself just so she could get out of that DUI. That woman was totally taking advantage of the situation since she could obviously see when the tape was running and when it wasn’t. It’s only too bad that the suspect was female – they’re often worse than men!

But let’s stop there. THINK about it people. Anyone with a gun, let alone a cop, tells you to sit down, then SIT THE F DOWN!!! If the cops THEN have to beat your butt for not complying then TOO BAD SO SAD FOR YOU!
