OK. We know what Colin Powell and Admiral Mullen have to say. Is John McCain a hypocrite or in Republican terms, caught in a Flip-Flop?

  1. Dr Dodd says:

#28-Olo Baggins of Bywater-Maybe it’s why all those nuts partisans bought up all the ammo last year.

    Laugh now…

but one day soon you will discover ammo to be more precious than gold… certainly more than the dollar Obama is working to destroy.

  2. Ah_Yea says:

    Give the guy a BREAK!!

McCain has Alzheimers, he doesn’t remember what he said last week…

  3. Phydeau says:

#29 It’s amazing how you lefty ass-hats are in denial about your good ol’ negro hanging, gay bashing, jew hating, sheet wearing blue collar Democrat brothers in the south.

Actually, they all joined the Republican party, moron. The south is solidly Republican now… didn’t you notice? I guess those negro hanging, gay bashing, Jew hating, sheet wearing blue collar southerners found a more comfortable home in the Republican party… gee, I wonder why.

Boy, I say boy, you about as sharp as a bowlin’ ball. 🙂 [Foghorn Leghorn quote of the day]

  4. tcc3 says:

Wow Dodd, you just elevated the term evil. By crying wolf and calling people who disagree with you evil, you reduce the impact of that term to describe true horrors that should be fought at any cost.

Propaganda is a dangerous tool, and mindless ideology has a tendency to bite everyone in the ass.

  5. BigBoyBC says:

From Wikipedia – Congressional opposition to lifting the ban on gay and bisexual people in the armed forces was led by Democratic Senator Sam Nunn of Georgia who organized congressional hearings that largely backed the armed forces position that had remained unchanged since the 1981 directive. While congressional support for reform was led by Democratic Congressman Barney Frank of Massachusetts, who fought for a compromise, and retired Republican Senator Barry Goldwater, who argued for a complete repeal of the ban.

  6. Phydeau says:

#36 Barry Goldwater? That RINO, that despicable traitor to the conservative cause?

That was sarcasm… he’s probably the last honorable Republican. A flaming liberal compared to today’s wingnut Republicans.

  7. HereYaGoAgain! says:

    #34 Fido,

Just because they voted against Barry Obama, doesn’t make them Republicans. You shouldn’t be tell’n lies less’n you be back’n-up that claim that those Sheet wearing blue collar democrats brothers of you’n joined them Republicans.

So maybe it’ll be best you shutt’n yo’ ly’n loud mouth and git back in yo’ dog house like the Democrat penny dog you is…

  8. Olo Baggins of Bywater says:

#38…You simply can’t apply today’s “R vs D” to history, it makes zero sense. Get some history, son.

What does make sense is that those sheet-wearin’ bastards were religious conservatives. Most of them feel the exact same way today. And they all call themselves Republicans.

If you think the KKK was a bunch of libruls then you’ve been watching the wrong cable channel, son.

  9. Dallas says:

Dr Dodd (alias Alfred1) reinforces why I despise the GOP.

  10. Phydeau says:

#38 Just because they voted against Barry Obama, doesn’t make them Republicans. You shouldn’t be tell’n lies less’n you be back’n-up that claim that those Sheet wearing blue collar democrats brothers of you’n joined them Republicans.

Oh geez. Another Republican embarrassed to be a Republican after Dubya’s reign of error. There’s a club for that… I think little pedro’s the president.

The Republican party has only a token few Jews, Blacks, and gays, especially in the south. Figure it out.

  11. Breetai says:

I love all the idiots around around here OMG ONE Admiral says end it = Everyone else did too. Unanimously for years of Top Brass have supported DADT. I hope it leads to DADT being repealed I think it’s stupid. But the FIRST dissenter amongst the top brass does not mean end it now. If you do think that way it’s because your a partisan asshole.

  12. Phydeau says:

#40 Dr Dodd (alias Alfred1) reinforces why I despise the GOP.

Dang, as crazy as Dodd is, if he really is alfie, he’s toned it WAY down… alfie was the champ! 🙂

  13. Howard Beale says:

I heard Republicans want to their god to nuke all the gay unborn Islamic whales. With leaders like Beck and Palin they will soon need to rebrand Republicans/Conservative like the Dems had to rebrand Liberal to Progressive

McCain has lost it he seemed to have it in 2000 but whatever IT is he has lost it.

  14. Dr Dodd says:

#40-Dallas-Dr Dodd (alias Alfred1) reinforces why I despise the GOP.

Is that what you call gay humor? Looks like you’ve been poked in the eye or some place too many times.

  15. Kneejerk Optimist says:

I worked with military people, and I’ve also known some gay people too. I think the prob that military folks have with gays is not a “phobia” but something more like embarrassment, i.e. men “behaving like women” which is an ancient attitude of the “it’s a man’s world” macho warrior spirit. But many gay guys actually don’t have the personalities of women.

Also…now, if you were on the battle line what would you rather have next to you?: A heterosexual soldier who suddenly turns out to be a wimp under fire…or a lesbian amazon type who shows she wants to and WILL go kill those deluded enemy motherfuckers?

Whoever CAN do the job gets the job.

    Case closed.

  16. Dallas says:

#45 I don’t see the connection with something called gay humor or relationship to being poked someplace. It must be an inside joke of sorts in your circles.

I will say you’re exemplifying borderline insanity. All it takes is an organization like the GOP to set angry and insane people like you off to do the irrational.

  17. qb says:

#43 Phydeau said “as crazy as Dodd is, if he really is alfie”

Hey, be fair. Alfie was likable.

  18. qb says:

A soldier dies in combat. While military officials are talking to the parents it becomes apparent that the soldier was gay. Should he be given a military funeral?

This are the sorts of real life problems that occur. US Congressional based studies estimate that ~25 gay/lesbian American service members have died in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I’ll be interested in who dodges this question and who doesn’t.

  19. Howard Beale says:

Dr Dodd a dull name go back to Alfred1 It was more satisfying to dope slap you when you posted with “Alfred1”

why would you want to distance yourself from all those fine Alfred1 posts?

like you have a A doctoral degree in any thing ha!

an academic degree granted to individuals who have undergone study demonstrating a mastery or high-order overview of a specific field of study or area of professional practice. Within the area studied, graduates possess advanced knowledge of a specialized body of theoretical and applied topics; high order skills in analysis, critical evaluation and/or professional application; and the ability to solve complex problems and think rigorously and independently

love that think and independently part oh alf you are to funny

  20. Dr Dodd says:

#47-Dallas-I will say you’re exemplifying borderline insanity.

That coming from someone that sits in the dark listening to show tunes.

So anyone that questions your screwed up worldview is borderline insane? Only arrogant, self-absorbed liberals would come to that conclusion.

  21. qb says:

Howard, he’s not Alfred1. Alfie was better read.

  22. Dallas says:

#1 Dr Dung. You’re one line of coke away from shooting up a museum. You need help.

I’m almost certain your line is tapped by Homeland Security. That beeping sound you hear is not your smoke alarm battery.

  23. Dr Dodd says:

#53-Dallas-You’re one line of coke away from shooting up a museum.

Nice try, but sadly doesn’t resemble funny.

For comedy to work there must be a hint of truth. Maybe you should go back to your Gilbert and Sullivan musical and leave comedy to the professionals.

  24. qb says:

    Gilbert and Sullivan musical? *snort*

  25. Hmeyers says:

Why does the article need to say McCain “Flip Flopped”?

The man doesn’t have any core political beliefs. He just likes to do the talk show circuit and be interviewed and receive attention.

  26. qb says:

    #56 Hmeyers

    Stop making sense.

  27. eaglescout1998 says:

John McCain needs to go. The only reason he’s tacking to the right is because he’s up for re-election and his facing a primary challenger. Personally, I hope he loses the primary.

  28. MikeN says:

    >Republicans are the new KKK in America.

Can you point out to me where a white Democratic electorate voted in a primary for a black man for Senator, Congressman, Governor, or President?

Barack Obama may have won a few primaries, but he lost the white vote nationally to Hillary, as well as in his Senate run.

  29. Greg Allen says:

    >> MikeN said, on February 5th, 2010 at 11:39 pm
    >> Barack Obama may have won a few primaries, but he lost the white vote nationally to Hillary, as well as in his Senate run.

Wow. You’ll need to ice up your mind and your soul after that stretch of logic and the truth!

Once again you are projecting the worst conservative attributes on liberals — in this case, racism.

  30. Greg Allen says:

You guys can vent on John McCain but he’s not different than the rest of the conservative movement.

Once upon a time, some of them had the occasional principle but now they are strictly the party of “no” even when it’s a glaring contraction of something they once claimed to stand for. Like tax cuts or supporting the troops.
