I wish the Open Source guys could make hardware.
Wouldn’t it be great to have a programmable phone that is totally open source, using whatever carrier is cheapest in your area?
There was a $400 open-source phone called OpenMoko but almost no one bought it, and they put bloated software on it.
American’s are easily swayed on gimmicks. The iPhone is just another one of those put out by a wonderful marketing company Apple.
This news story seems to contradict the idea that Microsoft can continue to sell MS-Word.
Of course, MSFT can easily get around it by modifying Word slightly to remove the almost-completely-unnecessary XML function that got them into trouble in the first place.
#5 pedro said “Open source sucks. Can you imagine the customer support nightmare on those phones?”
So true. That’s why pedro recommends that you use an iPhone which can be serviced at a Steve Jobs’ approved Apple store. Anything else would be foolish.
Well you do make so many compelling pro-Apple comments. 😉
