A Bloomberg report seems to indicate that:

Iranian forces yesterday entered Iraqi territory at dawn, and occupied well number 4 in the East Maysan field in al-Fakah region, 450 kilometers (280 miles) south of Baghdad, Border Guard General Zafer Nazmi said. The Iranian forces positioned tanks around the well.

“They positioned tanks around it and dug trenches,” Nazmi said by phone from Basra. “They are still there, they raised the flag.”

East Maysan in southern Iraq is an old oil field that is no longer in production, according to Nazmi. Iraq is the third largest oil producer in the Middle East after Saudi Arabia and Iran.

According to the article above, it was just eleven Iranian soldiers. Is eleven soldiers an invasion?

iran just blew it,it is the cancer in this world, its just like a little brother that wants his big brother to hit him,it wants america to attack it,it refuses to quit its nuclear program, and now its just like saying “ok now come and attack us”,they think that they can defeat america, but i tell them keep dreaming byatches, god bless america…

#31 Is eleven soldiers an invasion?

Depends on your position. In oil futures. Or Armaments. It doesn’t take any lightbulbs to turn on eleven soldiers.

#19 seems the most plausible. Engineers, Aggies and Forestry students used to do that all the time. You’d never know exactly when you’d see a red E or a green F or a blue A. An expression of young testosterone, esprit de corps, armageddon, all that good stuff.

Can they tell me where my favorite jar of black pepper is? I haven’t been able to find it all day!

Maybe they just wanted to be Fakahs.

  6. deowll says:

This is a silly question. It was an act of war and the Iranians know it. They also know Iraqi is weak because we made it weak and Obama is going to talk/dither rather than blow the forces they sent to kingdom come so now they are testing the boundaries.

Nothing attracts bullies like perceived weakness.

Since they have gotten away with this now it’s time to think about the next expansion.

  7. jeffp says:

Dumb Iranians. We need to invade Iran and kill every man women and child in the country. Destroy all the buildings. and declare it apart of israel.

  8. Pat says:

It actually would have been a huge logistical and political opportunity to have the Iranian Army stabalize parts of Iraq for a shared interest but… winning the Iraq war was never a priority, nor even intended by the U.S. A war ceases to be profitable when it’s over. Why do you think an insufficient ground force occupied Iraq for so many years? Those people were sent to lose the war, just to keep it going for as long as possible.
